I don't agree at all

So it's been a little over a month since the launch of Destiny. I think its safe to say that Destiny had a successful launch and established an enormous player base. However, there are various issues the Destiny community is extremely adamant about fixing. There are even more ideas that we (the community) want added to the game. Looking through the forums, I can't blame Bungie for not connecting to the community in the ways we would like. Have you seen some of these posts? This is a game that people genuinely want to see succeed but as a community we have to find ideas the majority agrees with and push it up above all the garbage. Deej can't work with us if we don't let him. Here I will attempt to highlight some of the big issues the community wants fixed and how I think Bungie can do so. Story 1.) Contrary to what people might believe, Destiny's story is not lacking at all. The story and information is there...but it's not presented in the best of ways. A lot of the complaints stem from the extremely vague cinematic sequences where little to nothing is explained about whats going on. Our Guardian seems pretty ok with just being revived after hundreds of years of being dead. Our Guardian didn't even bat an eye when he/she was enlisted by the Speaker to massacre hordes of aliens. I do not think this was done because Bungie can't tell a story. I believe this was a strategic move on Bungie's part to leave all the character building to us, the players. Yes, we all play through the same story missions but our reactions to what happens is left to us. We aren't all Master Chief, a character who's personality has already been determined. However, if our characters story is for us to be determined, how can we possibly do this in a meaningful way? Solution: Give players options that will influence small parts of their story. Keep the basic story missions but include ORIGIN MISSIONS. These missions can be found scattered throughout patrol zones in the form of NPC's, picked up items etc...These missions will give players options on how to proceed with them. These missions will slowly reveal information on our Guardians Origin. Each origin will be different depending on the choices we make much like Mass Effect or Guild Wars. This will give players more of a connection to their mysterious Guardians. Was my Guardian part of an Elite Anti-Invasion force? Or was he a commoner fleeing for the Last Safe City before him and his family were massacred. Does he even have a family? etc... 2.) Most of the information people say Destiny is lacking can be found in grimoire cards. However, I doubt the majority of players are going to invest time into sifting through them for lore. Solution: In game grimoire cards! I've seen many great ideas on how to implement this into the game. These ideas have included creating a Grimoir tab in our Guardians character screen or even creating this option in the directory. The interface for grimoire cards on Bungie.net is actually pretty great. Just put it into the game. That concludes the topic of Destiny's story. Feel free to add any other ideas in the comments below. Remember, Destiny has only been out for a little over a month. Give Bungie some time to make these ideas into a reality.
