EDIT2: There's a common hatred of Engram farming in Destiny. It's a lot like Marmite, people love it or hate it.
Farm engrams has absolutely no impact on your game what so ever, I understand the arguments for both sides. It's a way to play! People say they prefer strikes like the vanguard tiger strike, but others may find that incredibly boring and you have to concentrate too much, those who prefer farming mainly do it because it's very afkable And it's done at your own speed. Maybe you do it between waiting for friends or something.
I posted it for the simple fact that people who enjoy farming engrams can do this until it's patched. People call it a 'bug' or whatever. Okay, then I've just made a bug visible to be patched?
I've also posted it because well.. Seeing people get mad over nothing is fun xD
Enjoy The Game dude, sure it has its faults, but we're all still playing it.

You know you don't have to keep jumping to spawn them, just back away, go towards the hill - where the raised path is (about the normal loot cave distance) & simply fire the rocket in & blow them all up - then they respawn, if you don't have a rocket try a sniper rifle... the spawn as fast as you can kill them.

I did use the first loot cave, but considering I usually get 3 or 4 blues on Tiger in the 20 minutes or so it takes, I tend not to bother with loot caves now. Personally don't see why they patch them, if anything it takes longer to get blues. Suppose it's good for stuff to dismantle for glimmer and completing bounties.. but yeah, dunno why some people get so irate over them. Also, maybe if the connection was more reliable and didn't cut you off part way through a strike, people would be less inclined to sit at these caves.

1 ReplyI wanted to try this to see what it was all about. Works best solo/duo, any more than that and its hard to have everyone jump at the same time. Without the timed jumps the mobs simply dont spawn. Didnt time myself but in 1-1.5 hours i got 7-10 blue engrams. Tyger strike playlist is superior for engram farming.

strikes are way more better IMO, but when im leveling a weapon or armor i just go to lootcaves but i prefer we've woken the hive.

14 RepliesI just realized something. How is farming at a loot cave any different from playing the same old strikes over and over and over again? They both get repetitive and boring after a while, so why does Bungie keep patching these caves? Doesn't seem to make a difference imo.

I think it's dumb and boring and slow so go ahead and keep doing this ill stick to my bounties, dailies, weeklies, and raids.

Weak spot. Ran it for an hour got 3 blues, i could've ran 4 vanguard tigers within that hour and have gotten 8+ blues,. Don't waste your time.

I use a spawn point not going to say where but I only use it for bountys ie 20x 3 kill super or 20x 2 kill fusion rifles as those are time consuming & I have 3 characters to get done each day though with all the caterpillars today giving the game a miss hope they've sorted for tomorrows reset

Enjoy the cave! I'm not being sarcastic, if you have fun with it, go for it, as i always say, their money, their game, their time :D For me (and some players) this has no sense, a bunch of blue engrams to level up a cryptarch so you can get more BLUES!!! LMAO!!! (i'm not laughing at people doing the cave, I laugh at the fact you get more blues anyways) If you're between level 20 and 24 yeah, you might find good stuff there. I don't care about nerfs or buffs, i don't really mind, i'll just keep praying for more space in the vault, it's almost full and i don't wanna get rid of certain legendary/exotic weaponry/gear I have stored there :( Also, the crucible/vanguard marks cap, would it really hurt to adjust it a bit? How about cap it at 200? 250 maybe? :D Don't you think it would be a good excuse to keep playing crucible/strikes? I think the game could be more enjoyable... in my opinion...

Edited by xFLOPSHOOTERx: 10/20/2014 8:16:30 PMi don't even really see the point to farming loot caves anymore. all they ever drop is blues, and at this point blues are worthless to me. at this point my game has degraded to the point where i grind strikes to get marks to buy legendary gear to dismantle to get shards/energy to upgrade the stuff i already have. it's quickly becoming boring. and with the 100 mark/week limit, it means i can't buy more than 3 legendary pieces per week to dismantle, for about 9 shards/energy (if i'm lucky....most of the time i only get 6). the highlight of my week now is seeing what Xur has to offer every Friday morning, and eventually that will even lose it's luster. so i'm about to the point of saying F-U-C-K it.
