I have a thread in the help forum on this as well and was instructed by the BungieHelp mod to post here for feedback reasons. Many people are asking why they haven't yet received an exotic bounty when turning in bounties after hitting level 20 and other people have received multiple exotic bounties, even the same bounties multiple times. The response I received from the BungieHelp mod was that it is completely random and the more times you turn in bounties the better your chance to receive an exotic bounty. And therein lies the root of my feedback issue. Probability doesn't increase your chance each time you turn a bounty in, just increases the amount of times you have the same chance. You can flip a coin 999 times and hit tails every time and on your 1000th flip you have no better chance at getting heads or tails than your first flip. So in reality a person could actually NEVER have an exotic bounty drop for them, and another person could have one drop every single time. It's highly unlikely, but it's a real possibility. My point then is that the random distribution setup isn't a fair distribution and it is negatively impacting some players perception of the game in the same way that the cryptarch decoding purple engrams into blues and greens had done. That some people have received multiple exotic bounties while others are actively trying for one and have no such luck isn't a good thing and should be changed. This is my suggestion for improvement: Say for example it's currently a 2% chance to get an exotic bounty every time you turn in a regular bounty. If you get lucky and on your very first bounty turn in after hitting level 20 you get an exotic bounty by hitting in that 2% award range congrats, that's awesome. But if you miss on that and don't get the vanguard mentor missive your next turn should go up by a tenth of a percent, so you then have a 2.1% chance and so on every time you turn in a bounty without receiving an exotic bounty. So if you turn in 100 bounties without receiving a vanguard mentor missive you now have a 12% chance to get one instead of the same 2% every single time. And once you do receive an exotic bounty, your chance drops back to the baseline 2% for the next turn in. Still low odds but at least it's not like running into a brick wall head first for weeks on end. I don't begrudge anyone the success they have seen getting exotics, I just think the set up is flawed. I hope this post makes enough noise to get noticed.
