DeeJ, I have more feedback for you.

Longface here (my main account is having problems.) DeeJ old friend. I am quite miffed. My face is addled at the most recent baffling decision in Bungie's new trend of baffling decisions. If I dare to be cheap, I would even say that I am quite [i]vexed[/i]. I could still use underscores in username creation, I would be known as -______________-. Bungie has stated that they want people to use teamwork to think outside of the box when it comes to raids such as the VoG. Yet it seems bungie is adapting to the tactics we developed, they are moving against our out-of-the-box thinking. The most recent announcement, that the atheon teleportation will be randomized, is kind of a [i]vexing[/i] move. It's as if the devs saw this and said "Ok, players developed a clever strategy that involves teamwork and coordination. This cannot be allowed to happen. Let's -blam!- it up by adding randomization." This sounds like I'm being snide, but it honestly seems like that's what went through their minds. My question is this: Why did bungie decide opposing players' tactics should become a trend? Next thing you know, they'll be adding kill volumes to the pillars that open the portals or add invisible barriers to prevent people from taking cover. This is no longer satire. I can actually see you guys implementing this. [b]my suggestion[/b]: Leave it alone. It's not an exploit, it's a legitimate strategy. It does not break the game or the battle like the push exploit does. This is exacerbated by the fact that raids do not guarentee new loot. You could spend several hours doing all of that SHIT, only to get a stupid ship or a gun you already have. There is no guarenteed reward, so it doesn't feel worth the effort. You trend of taking one step forward but two steps back is not helping. [b]in the future...[/b]you should ask us what changes we would like to be implemented. I also want to mention that I do appreciate your own efforts to relate our feedback to those in charge.

    • I feel only change that should be made is the pushing off the boss, I'm sure they still will do what they intended and can't wait to see the explosive feed back from the confusion of who gets teleported is and who kills oracles and what not. I don't really care cause I can play every position but most can't or don't even want to

    • In my opinion, the changes are going to bring the fight difficulty up to where it should have been in the first place. To be fair, it was one of the easier fight is the game.

            I do agree that Bungie has sent some mixed messages. "Farming is ok and encouraged." -Patched loot caves, decrease enemy spawns everywhere. "Think outside the box to defeat enemies, for example Atheon." -Patched edge technique in VOG. What's next, individual vaults for all of your characters?

          • To solo VoG is my goal. A lame goal, yes, but a goal non the less. I plan on storming the vault with one hand on Thorn and the other on my hotdog....vigorously shaking it to achieve the most horrifying effect on the Vex.....

          • If anything they should only make the teleport random on hard mode. People attempting it for the first time will have a harder time learning their roles with this change. Will only make it harder on new raiders imo.

              • This change will teach versatility to the community. Too many times, you go into VoG and people only have experience with that one role they played their first time through. When something goes wrong, there is zero ability to adjust. Any one player claiming to be an endgame raider should be able to cover any role in a pinch. I fail to see why anyone would be upset at having to make their teams/clans stronger. People are complaining about nothing to do, well, they're about to give you a few new things to learn and impart on your teams. Is it a matter of not wanting to develop one's skill set, or being afraid one doesn't possess the gaming versatility to adjust.... or not wanting anyone else to because one enjoys being the relic rockstar and won't be the center of attention anymore? Again, makes me wonder who is really upset and what the real reasons are. I'm glad this change is coming. I hope people are already taking their fireteams in just to give everyone practice at each role while you can still execute some control over the porting, otherwise I foresee some "raiding teams" falling apart when that patch is released.

                  I'm sure Bungie has internet....they're big kids. They can go to YouTube and look at plenty of raid videos and see that EVERYONE has a role....and most raids are upwards of 24 people, but everyone knows what they new to do. You can see their movement patterns through the battlefield.....you can see certain jobs/classes grouped up in certain areas doing their role for the team. I will say that in some raids there are bosses that will throw a random factor ability out there and that usually entails aggro mitigation and not one group can keep the boss' attention, BUT Bungie's approach is gonna be a big monkey in comparison. What if we're helping lower level people....what if not everyone's pallet is set up to take out oracles or what if Atheon only teleports the people who have never used the shield before. I know this is gonna be a tough learning experience for some, but all I can say is set up your pallets according to all raid roles and good luck.

                • I agree with this. Proper coordination to ensure the "away team" teleports is not trivial. It requires constant communication and precise timing. Isn't that what Bungie wanted??

                  • My biggest problem is the fact that they are forcing us to play the way THEY want. I payed 65 euros for a game and I want to play it my/ my teams way. But every time players are creative (which get encouraged by them in words) they destroy that creativity with their deeds. I understand the Atheon push, it's a cheap trick but come on random timestreams. They dont like the cave farming because its not their vision of how the game should be played. They dont like us sitting on the pillars at the raid because thats not how they want this game to be played....Well what about how I want to play the game. Shouldnt that count considering my money helps fund the future of this franchise? They dont want weapons to be to strong compared to others. So should the time I put in getting an exotic be wasted then? When I get an exotic I want it to feel powerfull too considering they are end game weapons. Sigh sorry for my ranting.

                      It's been said before... for me it isn't the 'fixing' of the 'bugs' like random teleportation, it's the fact that they're ignoring the invincible minotaurs, random 2-man to glitches, supplicants bugs, and aetheon's terrible ai pathing bugs, in order to fix things that help alleviate these issues. Then on top of this they make the raid not worth doing. I took a 4 day break from destiny, and asked myself "why do I play?" "Why do I want to be 30?" "What do I want?" Why do I play? The combat is addictive, and fun. My friends are playing. I foolishly bought the legendary edition and season pass. I put 150 hours in, might as well stick with it. All good reasons in my mind, but what do I actually want of the game? Lvl 30? Why do I want 30? To do the hard mode I guess... it's the only thing I need 30 for really... but why do I want to do the hard mode? I killed him legit once, and I got a ship for my troubles... why do it again? Mythoclast? It's garbage. The helmet? I have an exotic helmet that gives me a 4th golden gunshot, and 30 light. Everything else drops from the normal mode... What do u want? A fun open world mmo style shooter game that has a strong story to keep me coming back. Does destiny have it? No. Does any game have it? I guess Defiance kinda did... sorta. Is it an unreal expectation? I guess it is. Ill be taking destiny, for both xbone and ps4, back to the store tomorrow after class. Maybe come December I'll pick it back up, but until such a time I'll be playing any one of the dozens of the great new games coming to my two consoles. See you in the master chief collection bungie.

                    • Why doesn't anyone want to take the time to train a Raid group? They all just want to be able to switch out with different groups and "know their role" because they are just chasing loot, for the most part - not team work or community. The way to train for this is simple, but will be time consuming. This change will make the Raid that much more satisfying to accomplish. Be Brave.

                      • To add to my earlier post... Atheon has been dying to all of these raid teams so much because of a bug. The dev clearly states the bug regarding Atheon's target selection is being corrected to teleport 3 random players. They are fixing a bug that happened to make the encounter easier for us, but that was not the design of the game. It will be more challenging, everyone will need to learn the roles but any good, truly good, team should already be mixing it up to not have to rely on any one person for a specific thing. More practice for everyone on each position will dictate who makes or breaks after this coming week, and I'm looking forward to the challenge.

                      • I mentioned this in a previous post. It feels like not only Atheon is the final raid boss but Bungie as well. The RNG system is already a big enough challenge when you put in some good hours and get squat. Frustrating doesn't begin to describe it. I though the goal was to make the game fun to play. Here's a suggestion. Keep the standard system in normal mode. Implement random teleportation on hard mode.
