You know how the FBI uses loud music to try to drive criminals insane in hostage and standoff situations?
This is pretty much what the music is like in destiny.
Sure it's fine the first play through, but after the 100th time some of this blaring music is akin to torture.
Almost every game I've ever played has had an option to turn off music. But this 500 million dollar game lacks the feature?
What if I want to listen to my own music and hear the game sounds? Just like I do in any other game. How was that overlooked? It comes off feeling more than a bit arrogant. No, the music is not so good that you have to force us to endure it Bungle (er... Bungie).

Agreed even though the only time I don't have the sound down while I am watching Netflix or whatever on my laptop while playing is during raids/crucible

I like the music but would support the option to turn it off

Edited by greyrider2112: 10/18/2014 12:26:56 PMCompletely agree with this. The Devil's lair music reminds me of the bullies theme song on American Dad. Stelios ...Stelios Kontos

As far as I'm concerned this option needs to be addressed in the ext patch. After 70 hours with the game I'm pretty much done with the soundtrack. It's not like I listen to my favorite bands even that much

Love the soundtrack and actually the music barely plays in the game. No clue what you are jabbering about. Please more Cabal / Mars music. Let us choose the music we want during strikes or missions...hell, even pvp.

I'm guessing their idea was that the game music was a core part of the game experience. And therefore they decided to force you to hear it. What they didn't count on was me instead opting to mute the game entirely so I end up playing in silence. I don't think their decision worked out so well in reality.

I honestly don't like the music in Destiny. Even first time hearing it. The theme is the only thing that's okay, but even then I can hardly recall it because it's so forgettable and bland. It gets pretty annoying hearing the same part of a song on repeat because the fight isn't just over yet. It doesn't flow well doing that and it honestly makes the fight feel far longer than it really is. I know other people enjoy the music, and that's fine. I just want to be able to turn it off.
