What are your thoughts on Legendary Sparrows?
I bought the Emerald Coil today from Xur to make my rare sparrow legendary and I'm not sure what to think. Sure it's 10% faster and 10% more durable and the green boost trail is admittedly awesome, but I was hoping there would be a more substantial difference in the way it handles. I heard from, what I know now was an unreliable source, that holding L2 and R2 together gave a short but extreme boost that one should use "at their own risk". With that not being the case at all, I think that is what lead to my disappointment.
If you have one of the booster drives, which one and what do you think? Were you disappointed or satisfied with your purchase?

You have to have do the raid to get a proper legendary sparrow which you can hold down the both triggers.

Faster than rare sparrow.

Not intrested unless it has advanced hydraulics,six inch subs,and is more fuel friendly without sacrificing speed and reliability for today's Gaurdian-on-the-go!

I had upgraded one two or three weeks ago and truly it was worth it. Now my friends have to keep up!ha.

Edited by Some Black Guy: 10/18/2014 12:00:57 AML2 and R2 to make it explode, are only for the legendary xvo "timebreaker" sparrow, which is so much fun to do lol. However, be happy that your sparrow is 10% faster and more durable. It makes a difference when you're riding through the terrain.

2 RepliesEdited by D.Warlock13: 10/17/2014 7:07:17 PMI upgraded my rare sparrow after wasting 175 marks :/ The boost looks alright, the excitement turns off after 1 minute of use, it goes faster and boosts to the sides, useless features... i want my 175 marks and 23 strange coins back :/ PS it's on my hunter 29 in case you wanna waste your time checking it out (because it's actually a waste of time)

I'm happy with my emerald coil booster. I had too many coins so I bought it on a whim two weeks ago.

They're pointless. I wish I hadn't spent 23 coins on the booster thing. Its barely faster than an uncommon one.

1 ReplyI got the timebreaker from the RAID. that one is awesome! has two boost modes. The 2nd boost if held too long will make your sparrow explode lol

3 RepliesAn exotic sparrow should be a guaranteed drop from the hard raid. Rather then the down and forward position it should be set like a chopper so you can ride in style.

The one with the boost that explodes is from the raid. You can move right and left with a quick jerk with the rare/ legendary.

I would still get an upgrade for 23 coins. I don't desire any more exotics other than the last word. Too bad I saw Xur's stuff and bought the titan chestpiece and the truth. (trying to get 1 of each weapon type in Exotic.)

The legendary sparrow from the hard mode raid is the best in the game atm with 120 durability, it's the one that allows you to boost very fast and it explodes if you do it for too long.

Okay let's use some common sense here... Wtf else are you going to spend coins and marks on once you have everything worth buying, or found better?

I got the red trails today. The sounds are different when power sliding and you get from public event to Public event much quicker. The strafe is amazing for running things over. I found before that enemies moved out of the way too easily making me miss too often. With strafe, just a little bump left or right lines up perfectly to send them over your windshield.

They are pimp. Once you have everything else you might as well get one. I plan on getting one for each of my characters.
