There seems to be a lot of confusion about how many chests exist in VoG, so let me post about the ones that my group has found (we clear normal and hard mode twice a week and occassionally take randoms, pst for a possible spot ((normals tues friday, hardmode thurs sun). 1.) After the gate. Everyone knows this chest, no need to explain. 2.) Spirit bloom chest - found in the hole in the wall after templar is defeated. 3.) **** Conditional chest ****** - found about 85% of the way down the cave system after the spirit bloom chest. To get this chest you must stop the templar from teleporting. You can cheese him by never breaking his shield and using warlocks to push him off the edge, or (and the more fun way) simply stop him from teleporting and dealing with the minotaurs. 4.) Just after the conditional chest, at the end of the cave system after templar, most people know of this chest. 5.) In the gorgons maze, to the right before you even really start the maze, most people know about this chest. 6.) **** Condition Chest ******* - After the gorgons maze, before the jump to atheons side, continue left along the cliffs, you'll find a cave system that will take you to a seperate set of disappearing platforms that will take you to a broken down vex gate. To get this to spawn is tricky, and we haven't pinpointed the reason. Our thoughts are it has to do with a.) preventing any sacrafices during templar/conflux phase. b.) getting seen by zero gorgons or c.) getting spotted by a gorgon and killing it (then getting spotted by zero other gorgons as gorgons become immune to damage after one is killed). Doing all of these things will make the chest spawn, we're not sure if they all are the requirement or just 1. 7.) Not sure here - this is the only one we haven't gotten to spawn. We're positive its a condition dealing with the atheon fight but we're not sure what that is. If you have any information feel free to contact me.
