My goal is to get a 40KD in the crucible, the highest I have reached is 25. The main problem is that at times I would attack a Titan or a warlock (by the way I only use my knife, my personal play style) and I get the drop on them, melee them, and am about to kill them with the second hit. And even though I completely out smarted them, a Titan will simply tap his "oh shit" button, and I die. Warlocks do the same exact thing as we'll, and once they activate it, your dead, no escape.
I have no feasible way of knowing whether they have a super or not. And seeing how I have no way to counter their insta killing super, not engaging is the best if not only option. Problem is, I know not who not to engage, making survival in pvp a complete game of luck, rather than skill.
The solution, make people glow when their supers are ready. Allowing you to make the appropriate decisions necessary for that person.
Edit 1: a person mentioned that glowing would have detrimental effects on stealth, fair enough, what if their is another indicator that this person has a super, but does not ruin stealth mechanics?
Edit 2: a person mentioned an awesome idea, make it so your radar indicates to you if a person has their super by having them show up as a different color.
Edit 3: looks like this already exists, apparently when people are supercharged, their level pulses yellow.
Glad they implemented something like this, looks like people at bungie and I have like minds. :)
-
You do know that their level glows and pulsates when they have a super ready.
-
I got it. Just give all the babies god mode and let the real players play normal. Therefore the idiots who care waaaay to much about kd can glow in God mode and never die and all regular players can spot the babies by their glow. The guy that wrote this post your not the best. I'm not the best. There will ALWAYS be people better than you. And caring about stats is a downward spiral it'll never please you you'll always be wanting a better score. Not worth it

Edited by Farashto: 10/17/2014 8:48:39 PMRight now, 13:11 hours17/10/2014, your K/D in Crucible is 1.21, and your K/D in Story is 26.50 that's also your highest on Destiny, Liar, Liar. No man has a good enough memory to be a successful lair. [EDIT]: Thanks BlueSKAdo
-
If your so good why is your kd 1.25 -_- it's called luck if you ever really got a 25 kd and sorry bungie won't change the game so you can be "good" at it
-
seeing as you only have a 1.25 kd in control i find it hard to beleive that even with people glowing with supers you would be able to obtain a 40 k.d. and im sure ur also lying about your 25 kd match as well because i didnt find that game in you history....
-
Lol reflexes my friend. No special activates in one frame when they activate it the show you by glowing. You have the split second to take em out, bail, or die. Now if someone gets the drop on you... well guess you aint as stealthy as you thought u were lol
-
Idk about pvp but in pve the lvl of the player i.e.27 28 29 box pulses gold around it and i dont think it would make sense to notify an opposing player in pvp when someones super is ready thats like showing how much ammo they have
-
I don't even play the pvp. I don't like it. But I don't see why ppl dislike this. Glowing is kind of absurd, but another way to easily identify if they have their super is ok IMO. (If there isn't one already)
-
Nope, People sometimes try to move tactically (with an element of stealth) and a big glow on them negates that tactic.
-
There's already an indicator when people have their supers. When they use it.
-
This would be a massive benefit to hunters since their superpowers have a delay upon use.
-
So you can't reach 40 you need to lower other people's chance of getting kills so you can be cheap and boost your kills... sounds like basic player logic. How about you deal with it and quit trying to nerd the game to your level instead of learning to adapt to new things
-
It's better not glowing. You want to change things for everyone just so you can get a better kd..... selfish!!!
-
Why do you think it's terrible tactics to use a super on one person? Sure, it's satisfying to take out multiple targets with a super, but it doesn't take more skill. They were just a group of peeps in the wrong place/ wrong time. Just like when you were alone. I like the idea of a superless mode of Crucible.
Having a awesome KDR doesn't push back the Darkness!
-
While we're at it, let's also show how many bullets are left in someone's clip next to their name. Then I don't need to guess when they need to reload. And we should be able to see grenade status!
Seriously, gtfo troll
-
How about we make walls invisible so we can see if there is someone hiding about to try and sneak up on us?
-
As a hunter their is no panic super so i use my super and it burns without a single kill after scouring the map for someone and now you want them to run away i can't back it
-
Edited by AraY: 10/17/2014 8:21:43 AMBeen there and done it. I really don't ever see you getting a K/D of 40 using just your knife. Sorry but it will never happen. Please prove me wrong though because I would love to see it! Good luck! A indicator for when supers are up would be nice!
-
Edited by ToughGuy051: 10/17/2014 6:29:47 PMI would never use my super again. I will be a super sayain. I will sparkel!
-
Dumb ass idea. 3 supers already cause visual changes of the player (ArcBlade, GoldenGun, Radience) so you know they have their super. Why give the 3 "surprise" supers a huge warning sign to their targets? This seems like QQ to me
-
I agree about having some sort of minor indicator that you can look out for to see if somebody has a super ready. It would help get rid of that feeling of chance that so many people in PvP. If destiny wants this to be competitive, then there just simply needs to be a way to anticipate supers.

If this ever occurs its bye bye DESTINY. PvP is all I care in this game cause its unique!

Nope, you are just asking for an advantage, I'm pretty sure your game style implies go crouching all the match in corners/shadow and wait for others to just pass by, then you wait for your super to be charged or heavy weapon ammo, for extra kills. It's the same, others sure ask why not show also the position of crouched players, so they can't hide.
-
Maybe a sort of radar warning. Example: Normal enemies are red on the radar, but enemies with supers could have a different color, such as bright yellow, or green or something. That way you know if a Titan around the corner is gonna ham slamwich you.

I blocked a Nova bomb with my bubble one time. It was lucky timing. Also ive shotgunned Striker titans in mid super and stopped them. Everyones special can be blocked/avoided with the right timing
