Shotguns AND Fusion Rifles too OP
C'mon Bungie, don't you see how Crucible matches go? The kids who spam shotguns or fusion rifles are always winning. Maybe its because the weapons take NO skill to use and the amount of damage dealt is devastating. I thought shotguns got "nerfed" but it seems like I am still getting 1 shotted from a mile away. And why were fusion rifles not "nerfed?" Those things will 1 shot you from the other side of the map before you can even get a chance to hit them. I think something is wrong when you look at other player's weapon kills in the Crucible and see that the majority is either shotguns or fusion rifles. I just feel that primary weapons dont have much of a spot in the Crucible.

Shotguns aren't OP at all, lol... You have to be within more-than-just-friends spooning range or it hits them with the force of a 3 year old throwing skittles.... As for fusion rifles, a keen set of ears and quick thumbs will save you most times.

Fusion rifles? Maybe. Shotguns? Nah. Destiny's shotguns are some of the weakest I've seen. Look up the MW2 Spas-12 and then look at Destiny's pea shooters.

1 ReplyUm.... you're really missing an option there. Just shotgun being op. Sorry, but a fusion rifle is risky. If you don't get them with every part of a shot, they'll kill you. If you have time to charge up a second shot and fire it all off... they suck. If someone that's trying to use a fusion rifle but missed the first shot kills you with a second or third, you need to examine your own skills. Why is nobody complaining a sniper being op? Because it takes aim. Just like a fusion rifle. Shotgun takes no skill. Fusion rifle requires aim and timing, and nerve.

8 RepliesIt's not that they're op, it's that there's too much special weapon ammo on the map. Players shouldn't start with special weapon ammo, and there shouldn't be so much of it on the map. No one ever complains about heavy weapons being op because they aren't constantly getting killed by them. No one should be able wield a special weapon from the beginning to the end of the match without ever having to switch to their primary. Nerf ammo.

primaries are just as OP, if not more so. I am fine with shotgun 1 hitting at close range. primaries though, they kill too fast imo (and our maps are too enclosed).

I can see what you're getting at, but I believe the main problem for shotguns being too common is map size. All the maps are mid to small maps. There are no spaced out maps where a shotgun would be deemed worse than a sniper for example. A simple solution rather than nerfing or buffing is just to make a big variety of maps! Some big spaces out maps are definitely needed in PVP.

As i said in another thread, The real problem is there's too much special ammo pickups on each map and they respawn too often.

Let me guess; a guy was right by you, and shot you dead. Therefore, NERF IT ALL. Or, for a Fusion Rifle, you weren't looking, or didn't try to dodge it fast enough, and got ganked. Therefore, NERF IT ALL. Am I right? In all seriousness, no, I don't think they need another nerf. In fact, I think that in PVE, shotties needs buffing. Fusion rifles probably (don't use them much anymore, haven't found any good ones lately).

You can hear a fusion rifle before it fires and that's when you get out the way ... As for shotguns, just stay away.

2 RepliesJump back and use your rifle/cannon/nade. If you are getting owned at close range it's because you choose to fight at close range. "The corner campers... blah blah QQ blah blah" Don't put yourself in closed spaces. "But small maps ... blah blah QQ" Use your radar. Even if they are crouched they occasionally blip (every 6 seconds? ) or.... choose not to use routes will put you in close quarters. People who get rocked by close range weapons and cry about it need to slow their role and think about not bum rushing constantly. Sit back and shoot down open space or hallways that don't allow people to get the drop on you. Stop zooming in constantly. It eliminates awareness. This isn't COD or titanfall. Don't play like a spastic 7 yr old and you may not get a shotgun facelift
