A way for Bungie to improve the players experience and skip the whole orbit loading with patrols and strikes on the same planets.

Put strike beacons in patrol areas like the mission beacons so you don't have to go to orbit to load up the same planet. Going to orbit to load the same planet is such a waste of time and also I really don't like patrol so rarely go to it. It is slow, boring and easy to kill things as well as the missions being incredibly repetitive. So how can these things be improved? One thing which I believe would help is to put Strike beacons in to patrol areas. Then you can go up to a strike beacon after your material run gets a bit boring and call others in the area to come and help you do a strike mission or it can matchmake you if nobody is there. After the Strike finishes and you have had the rewards screen it can load you back straight into the patrol area, you can jump into orbit or you can hold a 3rd button that takes you straight to the tower. Right now we have the choice of holding Y/Triangle to return to orbit and that is it but loading orbit is slow and so is loading up the same planet after. I think 3 options wouldn't really clutter things, it would save so much time from loading in and out of orbit all the time and really just make the Destiny experience flow much better. For example X/Square can go back to patrol, y/Triangle can take you to orbit and B/Circle can take you directly to the tower. That would really improve the experience ten fold.

  • Good idea. Orbit is a real pain, but I realised the other day that perhaps the reason you have orbit is because of the limited number of people the tower can host. I've found quite often that I can't join a friend's fire team, even though they are in the tower because it's full. So I have to wait until they go to orbit or someone leaves the tower. As such, orbit acts as the only assured way to be able to join a fire team, especially prevalent when forming a team for a raidor if the servers are busy. Pretty poor networking imho.
