Lets talk about Atheons Epilogue and Doctor Nope (PvE perspective)
Before this patch, I was trying to make sense of where these weapons fit into the grand scheme of the game. While they do have extremely high rates of fire, the super low damage values mean they actually end up on the lower end of the time-to-kill scale. It doesn't help that even before the patch, the recoil on these things was somewhat unwieldily. But now with the AR changes:
Base Damage decreased by 2%
Reduced Precision Damage multiplier from 1.50 -> 1.25 (head shot bonus)
Stability decreased by 4% - 17% (driven by stat value)
I really don't feel these weapons are worth using. Even when getting all headshots and the void damage multiplier on a minotaurs shield, Atheons Epilogue still takes more time to take down their shield than just using a regular AR with more balanced impact and fire rate. Dr. Nope is in an even worse position because it has no elemental modifiers going for it. Now that they've been nerfed, the damage values have gone from bad to pitiful, and the lower headshot multiplier and poorer stability add insult to injury.
So please, can someone enlighten me on how to make these things effective post-patch? I get that it's a close-quarters kinda gun, but even in close-quarters I feel like just popping things with a headshot via handcannon is faster and more efficient. I really like Atheons Epilogue; It's a cool gun with some need abilities on it, but I feel I could be flat out more effective in every possible scenario with my Hand Cannon.
