No that's not official, but now that i have your attention just hear me out here because i can -really- see it happening. Both the Iron banner and the Queen's Wrath are going to happen again, one thing you might have noticed is that these even vendors didn't sell all of the gear pictured. Now take in to account how easy it is to actually get to rank 3 with these factions, then take in to account how frequent they are going to be, which isn't very frequent at all, by the time this event ends there will be a shit-tillion players who have reached rank 3, what motivation would we have to play Iron Banner the next time it comes around? Simply zero motivation at all, we can play any crucible playlist we like to get marks to buy whatever gear the vendor will have this time around (because obviously some gear is being held back for when these events return) And i think Bungie knows this, they know that when Iron Banner/ Queen's Wrath roll around again there is going to be a HUGE dip in people taking part because we simply wouldn't need to. What would Bungie's solution to this be? Add new content within these events? Nope, Add special items for ranks over 3? Nope. The solution is as simple as hitting a little reset button that will eat all of your IB/QW progress forcing you to have to take part should you see something you like in one of those events. So i am going to make a prediction, I predict that the next time we see Queen's Wrath, the next time we see the Iron Banner, we will have to grind the rank All. Over. Again.
