Predicting the Third Subclass

I know. Two posts have already covered this topic. If you haven't yet, I recommend you to read the other topics for some insight on the possibility of a third subclass. The other posts cover some good ground and the comments even more so. Gaurdians often classify subclasses as one of the three: Ranged, Close, or Support roles. Easy enough right? It doesn't quite support the theory the way we need it to since we end up with a Ranged Solar Titan and an all too similar Ranged Solar Hunter. 1. We should take a closer look into classes that already exist and look for similarities and differences. Arc Type: Striker (Close combat oriented, Area/Surround damage), Bladedancer (Close combat oriented, Direct/Target damage) Solar Type: Gunslinger (Ranged combat oriented, Direct/Target damage), Sunsinger (Support/Survival oriented, Target/Area damage) Void Type: Defender (Support/Survival oriented, Area/Surround kinda damage), Voidwalker (Ranged combat oriented, Direct/Target damage) 2. By classifying each class by their super abilities, we find that all Titan subclasses we know of are all Area/Surround based, all Hunter subclasses are all Direct/Target based, all Warlock subclasses are Target/Area based. -(Voidwalker's ability can be easily aimed at a target and create area damage, Sunsinger's ability reduces cooldowns so you're either tossing area grenades at a target or using your melee at a direct target, so we'll call it Target/Area) 3.We can now differentiate the Gunslinger as a Ranged/Direct subclass and the Solar Titan as a Ranged/Area subclass. Here's an updated chart: Striker: Close Area Defender: Support Area ???: Ranged Area Gunslinger: Ranged Target Bladedancer: Close Target ???: Support Target Voidwalker: Ranged Target/Area Sunsinger: Support Target/Area ???: Close Target/Area 4. Solar Titan gets a Ranged Area? what the heck does that mean? Void Hunter Support Target, Arc Warlock? What the [Insert rant here] is this Pisa? -A ranged area attack does seem like it would be similar to the Voidwalker super ability. The difference however is, unlike the Voidwalker's super ability, you could not aim it at a direct target. 5. So what now? -Well... lets go into more detail on the super abilities for the third sublcasses! Solar Titan: Ranged Area.... So maybe a wide spread flame thrower attack that drains super energy on use, or a missile launch that seeks enemies randomly. Void Hunter: Support Target... Fearing (flashbang grenade like move), Controlling an enemy player, Telleporting enemies or yourself, summoning a spirit wolf to do your dirty work or just be plain adorable. Arc Warlock: Close Target/Area... So maybe like a direct lightning bolt attack that chains onto nearby enemies and then again chains off of them, summoning thunderstorms onto players. 6. Melee abilities, what about them? Falcon PUNCH! Solar Titan: Thunder fist, shielding fist, we'll need something different, falcon punch is too similar to the Strikers melee. How about a wrist missile launch like iron man? matches a bit up with the gunslingers knife throw, but it might work. Void Hunter: Knife throwing, blink stabbing, so... maybe a DOT move like the Sunsingers, but poison damage. Poison knife makes sense to me, fits the void, might work. Ark Warlock: Cooldown palm, fire vortex hand... It only makes sense for the Ark Warlock to have a stun melee attack, it would fit the palm animation, a stun melee would be great and annoying to see. 7. Umm... Grenades? Well, we've seen: Split Grenades, Mine Grenades, (crappy) Vortex Grenades, Stick Grenades, Seeking Grenades, Multi-Target Grenades, Flashbang Grenades, Silencing Grenades. What we've yet to see: Player-Detonate Grenades, Boomer-Grenade-rangs (grenade comes back if you miss the target), Radar-scramble Grenades, Smoke Grenades, Grenades that don't obey gravity, Healing Grenades, Stun Grenades (Worst idea ever), Stat Boosting Grenades, Stat-Degrading Grenades, Troll Grenades that lengthen respawn times (I'm obviously out of ideas, lol) 8. So many words. Yet, you haven't gave any the third subclasses names? -Bungie is obviously very clever at name making, I'm not. If I tried, you'd get names like Cloudchaser, Riftsplitter, and Captain Falcon. There is one thing you can count on with the third class naming though; It will certainly end with an Er. Sriker, Defender, Gunslinger, Bladedancer, Voidwalker, Sunsinger: All end with Er. Titan subclass names are simple, so maybe expect to see a name like Enforcer. Hunter subclass names are conjugations with the first word a weapon, second word a fluent type of movement. Warlock subclass names start with the element type then end with some type of action word. ----------THAT IS ALL---------- (Unless you take in mind a fourth class in the Vangaurd Shield that has the emblem of stripes, very unlikely though) (Or if the third subclass slot is actually a B-Side to the class adding two more Anti-Subclasses to each class with damage types like Ice or Darkness or something opposite of lightning, the Stranger hints at it saying she was not forged in light, maybe you can be forged in dark? very very unlikely, but if you read this its too late.) Thank You for reading, If you have Ideas or any Insight on the matter, I would love to hear about it in the comments. I'll be checking the comments and the other posts about the Third Subclass. Also, If you have any Names, Melee abilities, Grenade Ideas, or Super Ability Ideas, please share. -Pisa Hut

I heard about this recently and found a thread about it so I'll link it below. It's a post that covers the Third Subclass leak that pretty much fits into all of my speculations.
http://www.bungie.net/en-US/Forum/Post/73515034/0/0/1
Solar Titan = Crusader Ranged/Area super Void Hunter = Trapper Support/Area super Arc Warlock = Arcthrower Close/Target super They all meet my standards and all end with an er. This leak is either real or just really well thought out.
You seriously have got to give me credit for guessing before the leak and getting pretty close to spot on.
• Some decent thoughts, would love a close warlock arc class. Thundercaster? Arcmaster?
