The Great Forum War - The Light Chronicles

This is a story about how the character Light in GeneralJohn1031's story came to be who he is now. You can be in the main story if you PM GeneralJohn or if you post a reply in his thread. Here are some other stories about the main characters. Buster's Awakening- Cold Blood Killa The Von Keshner Chronicles- i_hate_babies The story takes place in the Forums, which is a big city in the story. Light is the character that is essentially against both sides. He beleives Bungie is evil and should be destroyed. The rest of the characters are in a big war with an evil dictator and blah blah blah, but you can read about all that in GeneralJohn's thread. *References: Buster Johnston is a mercenary who will do anything and kill anyone for the right price. He is in GeneralJohn's story as well. Snip3r is Bryan's (who is Light) friend and may or may not appear in GeneralJohn's story. In this story, getting banned is like going to jail and the moderators are like the police. I know that the first chapter is pretty boring and kind of short, but hey, it's my first time writing a story. This is my first story, so don't insult me too hard. Critiscim is welcome, though. ________________________________________________________________________ Chapter 1 Buster Johnson checked the note saying to meet up to make sure he was at the right address. He was standing in front of an old abandoned thread which hasn't been used for years. He slowly walked inside with his knife drawn, not knowing what to expect. "Don't be afraid," a voice called out. "We just want you to do a job for us." "You?" Buster asked. "I'm a little suspicious of why you would want me to do something for you." "Business is business," another voice said casually. "And if you do your job right, there will be quite a sum of money for you. 50,000 Microsoft Points to be exact." Now Buster was interested. "All right," Buster said. "So who do you want me to hit?" It was a beautiful day in Forum City. Bungie General was bustling with activity; crowds of people were discussing in threads and socializing. And no spammers or Recon freaks in sight. That's just how Bryan Russel liked it. Bryan was average height and skinny. He was slighly pale and always had an expression like he was thinking. He also had a strong sense of justice agiast criminals. Many of his friends expected him to become a famous individual. He had already created succesful threads, one of which got stickied. Bryan decided to go into a bank to withdrawl some Microsoft Points. There was a fairly short line in the bank, so Bryan expected to be out soon. Just as it was about to be his turn a man in a ski mask busted in. He had a pistol in his hand. "All right!" he shouted. "Give me all your Microsoft Points if you don't want to get killed. Everyone else get down on the floor!" Bryan looked over at the robber and simply stood still. "Hey! I told you to get the f*** down!" the crook shouted. Bryan swiftly punched the robber in the gut. This enraged the crook greatly. He kicked Bryan and shoved him onto the floor. He then pointed his pistol at Bryan and cocked it. Bryan quickly rolled out of the way as the robber shot. This time the robber grabbed Bryan and put the pistol to his chest. Just then a couple of moderators busted into the bank. "Don't shoot!" the moderator commanded as he pulled out his glock. The robber quickly decided to aim his gun at the moderator instead. Both of the mods shot the crook in the head, and Bryan dropped to the ground with his lifeless corpse. The mods asked if Bryan was okay. "Yeah," Bryan said, stunned. He quickly snapped out of it and made his withdrawl. After that Bryan decided to just go home. Bryan enterd his apartment and went on to his computer. After checking his messages, he put on a pair of high-tech looking gloves. This was his new invention, which allowed him to go on the internet wherever he wanted, along with a program to make the gloves work.. He moved his left index finger and a screen popped up in midair in front of him. "Now," he said. "Let's see if I can upgrade this to use hacking programs on it. He pressed a small button on the side of one of his gloves and it opened up. "All I need to do is insert this chip, and I should be able to create my own hacking software and access anything," Bryan said. "Maybe I can enlarge the hologram image, too." Suddenly Bryan had an idea. It might get him in trouble, but just maybe he could pull it off. "I'll just change the connection to the city's mainframe." Bryan typed on the floatring screen and clicked enter. A code pulled up on the floating screen, and Bryan looked astonished. Just as he was about to continue, his phone rang. He picked it up. "Hello?" he asked. "Bryan, you have to come see this." Bryan recognized this voice as Snip3r's. "I'm on the outskirts of town by Stosh Blvd. Hurry!" Minutes later, Bryan was standing next to Snip3r in a grassy field. "What is it, man?" Bryan asked. Snip3r just walked over to a spot where the tall weeds had been cleared. Bryan looked down at the ground and was suprised to find the dead body of Reiginko. "Wh-what?" Bryan looked even more pale than usual. "When did you find his body Snip3r?" "Right before I called you," Snip3r repied. "I was just out off-roading on my mongoose when I came around him." They were silent for a while. Snip3r finally asked, "Who do you think would do this?" "Someone mad at Bungie, or maybe someone who wanted to be known by killing a higher authority," Bryan replied. "With Reginko retired, it would be all the more easy to kill him." "Well," Snip3r sighed, "I already called the mods. There's not much we can do." Two police cars pulled up with mods in them. "I'm glad you're here!" Snip3r yelled. "The body's right over-" One of the mods pulled his pistol out and aimed at Snip3r. "Put your hands in the air!" he shouted. "You two are banned for the murder of Reiginko!" I didn't want to bump his thread back to the front page, when your thread had a link to it in it already.

 • I'm just going to give two crtiqs about the story, for next time. It may turn in a rant, I haven't really thought it out yet. Look, I don't want to know the names of the characters or the basic plot until I read through the story. It would be like if you read Harry Potter, for lack of a better reference at the moment, and at the beginning it had the basic plot information and character info. Giving that information out completely blocks you out of the world, and keeps you from a reading a book because you know enough that the book has much less to hold your interest other than the plot that hasn't been told told you. Giving out Character description limits how much of a story can be portrayed with imagery. When this happens you are again blocked out of the world because you are forced to imagine too much of the city, which can make it unnecessarily hard to read. By keeping that information in the story, and integrating it cleverly, you create a much more vivid world that draws a reader into your story. Also, character background information is boring as hell. Alright, the rant is over, sorry about that. There's my small problem with the story.
Posted by: a rabid snail Who is Sniper McGee
He's a long time member of The Flood, and his stories are extremely popular by normal standards. If someone says that your stories are like his, it is probably a complement. [Edited on 03.08.2008 5:22 AM PST]

 • Never heard of him. I can't even guess how my story is similar to his (or hers). I guess we just think the same or something. To tell you the truth, I was inspired by Death Note.

 • YOU WILL NEVER KNOW! MWAHAHAHAHHA!!! CLIFFHANGER ENDING!!!!!! This IS a prequel to the Great Forum War. But don't expect to get jack from GeneralJohn, either. And I might think of making a Chapter 6, kind of a Afterward to the story. [Edited on 03.05.2008 8:04 PM PST]

 • Don't worry, I've thought of something to make him less powerful. Plus, Light isn't the leader of anything really. There are just people who know someone is targeting Bungie and agree. Light is also slipping ads into the classfields. The last chapter! And please, GeneralJohn, if my character dies, make it brilliant and beautiful. No "'Die sucka!' gets shot in head" bull crap, please. ________________________________________________________________________ Chapter 5 "Things are getting bad, gentlemen." Achronos was standing in front of a select few Bungie Employees and Ninjas. Most of them still couldn't believe their leader would appear in front of them on such short notice. "And my being here certainly proves that. It seems that all of the Recon groups and spammers have increased dramatically. And we have this member who calls himself Light who has already killed 3 Ninjas and 45 moderators, including Recon 54. And if I'm correct, this killer was able to hack him." "No offense, but what's so important about Recon 54?" questioned stosh. "There's a reason why he's called Recon, you know." "You-you couldn't possibly mean?" "Yes. He was the keeper. And now whoever finds out where it is hidden will have complete control over all of Forum City. They may very well become a God." Frankie exited the Conference Room with all the others and headed straight for the bathroom. He washed his face in the sink thoroughly. If Recon's been killed, then it's only a matter of time. Plus, that Light guy who killed him could kill one of us, too. I wonder who will be next? He got up and looked in the mirror. Yes. I do wonder who? Frankie paused. Someone had just spoken to him. But who? It sounded like it was coming from inside his head. Obey me. Frankie suddenly felt a surge of pain flowing through him. No! I won't be controlled! My. You have a strong will. It looks like we'll just have to break it. Frankie fell onto the floor in pain. No! Stop!! Aaaaaagh!!!!! Yoozel suddenly opened the door. "Hey, Frankie, what're you doing here?" Frankie was standing upright facing away from him. "Hey.... Frankie?" "Oh, I'm just fine," Frankie replied. He briskly walked out the door. Excellent. You are now serving for me. Now listen carefully.... The next Day Achronos walked into the Conference Room with a serious look on his face. "What did you call me for? It better be important." Yoozel was staring at Achronos. "Oh, it's important, all right." "What's wth all the serious looks?" Achronos joked. "Did I miss a birthday party again?" SketchFactor and Shishka put handcuffs on him and pulled out pistols. "What's going on here?!" Achronos demanded. Frankie walked up and pulled out documents. "You're being banned for leaking top secret information and working with Light." "What?!" yelled Achronos. "I did no such thing!! You don't even have proof!" "On the contrary, we have documents pulled from your computer and hardware information showing you made direct contact with Light and helped him hack into our mainframe. Take him away, and make sure the media doesn't find out." Achronos was still ranting as he was being dragged away. Fools! Soon you will all get what you deserve. Meanwhile, Light was in his underground chamber. "Cut the head off the snake, and the rest of the body dies. I don't even have to bother with all the rest of Bungie. If just one person knows that Bungie is leaderless, mass riots will take place everywhere. I'm sure some other people dedicated to my cause will react as well. This is all going according to plan." Light pulled up a holographic screen and began to type when he noticed something. "Eh? What's this?" He clicked on a file he hadn't seen before. This file…what is it? It couldn’t have been added recently or I would've noticed. That means it's been here the whole time. But I've never seen it. He clicked on the file but it said "access denied". This should be interesting. Light clicked a tiny button on his gloves and typed on the computer. Random codes began appearing on the screen. Come on. Come on. Again the file remained access denied. Then it suddenly changed to "access confirmed". Let's see what's in this, eh? Light opened the file. In it was another file that simply said "Recon". Recon? Why would Bungie hide a file about Recon? And why would they go to such an extent to secure it? Maybe I'm seeing this because I hacked Recon 54? Light slowly clicked on the file. As soon as he did, the screen disappeared, and his gloves crackled with electricity. "What!?" Light screamed. the gloves exploded into pieces and fell to the floor. How could this happen!? I didn't detect any virus link before I opened the file! All my work! All my power! Completely gone!!! Light dropped to the floor and began frantically searching in the rubble of his gloves. All he came across was a computer chip. He smiled. "The hacking system is still here! My power still remains! You think you could have beaten me Bungie? You are cowardly fools! I'm going to obliterate every last one of you!" Light started to laugh maniacally. "It will be easy to rebuild this! Only a matter of days! Then you will pay! Ahahahahaha-haha!!!!" Six Days Later "It's complete," Light said with a sinister smile. "It may have hurt some, but now I don't even need a computer screen!" Light pulled the back of his hair to reveal two chips implanted in his neck. "Now I can destroy you without even moving a finger!!" His eyes began moving as if they were reading text. "Wha-what! I can't access Bungie mainframe! Even my new system can't hack it!" Light was hysterical. How is this possible?! After I clicked on the file, it must have installed some sort of cookie! No, the gloves exploded. And even my old system should of been able to detect that. Suddenly he realized something. But I still appear in a holographic disguise! That means I can still hack! How is this even possible? I can't access the mainframe's content, bu I can still hack!? Light had a wicked smile on his face. "Fine, then! This will only make things more.... interesting. Bungie will fall, but now, it seems I'll get to have more fun!" Light was laughing now, but it was a different laughter than before. "This is getting VERY interesting! This is just going to give me a little more fun while I'm destroying you, Bungie! First off, to see if I can still hack someone! How about my dear friend Frankie!" Light closed his eyes and concentrated. It will be harder without Bungie's information, but I think.... aha!! Found you! Can you still hear me, Frankie? There was a short pause. Yes. Good. Be a dear and leak the information regarding Achronos to the public, now will you? Understood. That's all for now. It seems I can still hack anyone I please. But without Forum City's mainframe, I may not be able to hack a stranger. Time to conduct a test. Light hopped up and climbed a ladder up to the surface. He was in an empty field. Now that I can do anything while looking like I'm simply standing, I don't need to hide anymore. Especially while I can change my appearance. Light changed into a middle-aged man in a tuxedo and walked into the city. How about that woman over there? If this works, she will walk over to that bald man and punch him in the face. Light watched as the woman simply kept walking. Damn. Just as I suspected. Time to conduct another test. Light walked up to the woman casually. "Excuse me, ma'am, but do you have the time?" he asked. "Sure," the woman replied. "It's 2:30." "Thank you. May I ask your name?" "Oh. It's Rebecca Jones." Suddenly the woman turned around and punched a man in the face. She then ran away. So I was right after all. I'm going to need a name to hack someone. Considering most people share names with others, I'll most likely also need a face. And since I don't have Forum City's mainframe's information, it may also take longer to hack people who are farther away. This only makes things more interesting. Light walked over to a vendor and put in 20 Microsoft Points. A news article came out. The headline was "Von Keshner Takes Over Another District". The article showed a picture of Von Keshner's face. Hmmm. Von Keshner. I certainly don't want any competition. Light closed his eyes and concentrated hard. What? I can't find him? Unless....Von Keshner is just his alias! This guy might become a problem. It's probably nothing to worry about, though. All corrupt peole will die in the end. Because in the end, justice will always prevail. [Edited on 03.05.2008 7:00 PM PST]

 • Nice story, I can probably incorporate some of that into my story. But those gloves make your guy way too powerful considering he's going to be the leader of an underground rebellion thingy, cuz then it wouldn't even be a fight, more of a massacre of whoever he tries to fight. The gloves should either break or get stole by a certain villain who uses them to permanently delete your memory of them and then destroys the gloves because he doesnt want anyone to be able to defy him. Like your guy gets attacked and then wakes up to find something missing but doesnt know what it, who attacked him, or what it is that seems to be missing. Just a suggestion.

 • Yeah it really sucked. I stayed up until like 11:30 writing it, and I was like "Finally it's finished! Now to spell check! Wait.... WTF?!?! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Finally! How Bryan goes insane! Wheeeeeeeeee!!!! ________________________________________________________________________ Chapter 4 ..... And then there was one. "So, we've discussed the plan thoroughly, then?" Bryan questioned. "You have know what to do?" Snip3r nodded quickly. "But wait," he said. "If you faked your death, then how will you bee seen in public?" Bryan pulled up a holographic screen and started typing. "You see," as Bryan began explaining, a small beam of light coming from the gloves passed over his body, "I also discovered with the holographic imaging, I can change my own appearance." When the light passed through Bryan's body, his eyes had changed color, his hair was longer and now black, and almost all of his facial features had changed. "And as long as these gloves don't break or malfunction, I can appear to be any person at once." "That's amazing, Bryan! I bet you can practically do anything with those gloves!" Snip3r commented. Bryan smiled at this. "You don't have to keep complementing me. Anyway, just to be safe, you shouldn't call me Bryan from now on." "Well, what should I call you?" inquired Snip3r. "Maybe something cool, like X or Justice!" "I don't think that will be necessary. Just take this transmitter and put it on like a pair earplugs. Then we can communicate without being in direct contact." "Alright, then," Snip3r declared. "Let's do this!" *** "I'm sorry, but I don't think I can put this ad up." Bryan was arguing with a man with a lazy eye who was running the classfields. "Come on," suggested Bryan. "What's the harm? No one will know you were the one who agreed to have this put up." The lazy-eyed man still wouldn't budge. Bryan sighed. "Fine. How about 5,000 more Microsoft Points?" Now the lazy eyed man was smirking. "Deal," he said, and quickly swiped the cash from Bryan. "The ad's already been entered, so I can't take it back in case you change your mind." As Bryan walked away, the man looked at the Microsoft Points. "Wait.... these are counterfeit! Get back here!! “Just as the man noticed the Points were fake, Bryan had already changed his appearance to an old man. "No refunds," Bryan snickered. Bryan walked around the corner into an alley and met with Snip3r. "I got the ad in, and it got entered before he noticed the points were counterfeit. Now all we have to do is wait." Back at the counter, the lazy-eyed man was furious. "Where'd that punk go!? Geez, I gotta be more cautious. I shouldn’t have even agreed to this ad anyways. This guys gonna get himself banned." The ad read: "Bungie is hiding a secret from us. They have killed innocent people and do not deserve to run the city. To find out more, meet Snip3r at 431 Cheezburger St. at 9:00 P.M. tonight." Later That Night Snip3r and Bryan were sitting in a small, one story thread which had been locked early before it got out of control. Bryan was looking at his watch. "8:56.” Bryan sighed and got up. He pulled up another screen and started typing frantically. "Just make sure to stay away from the window, Snip3r." Snip3r nodded and scooted over from his position directly in front of the one window in the building. Suddenly there was a knock on the door. Bryan casually said, "Come in." Three mods busted down the door and held up their weapons. "Both of you keep your hands in the air! You two are both banned for spreading shenanigans! And you, Snip3r, are also banned for escaping prison!" Bryan chuckled. "I don't think so." One of the mods looked angry. "What’d you say, punk?!" Suddenly, four glass walls rose up from the floor and trapped the mods in a glass cube. "What is this!?" the mod demanded. He fired his shotgun twice, but the glass didn't break. "Sorry," Bryan remarked. "This is 5 inch thick bulletproof glass, intertwined with Kelvin and with a Plexiglass casing. There's no shooting through it. Now tell us what you know about why Reiginko was murdered." "What the hell are you talking about?" the mod said. "Nobody tells me Jack!" Bryan frowned. "Just as I suspected. I really was expecting a Ninja to come. Well, then, we'll just have to hold you hostage." One of the mods chuckled. "With what?" he said. "You said you can't shoot through this glass! I don't see any weapons on you anyway!" "With what, you ask?" Bryan slowly fixed his gaze on the mod who had questioned him. "65 tons of explosives, all buried underneath us." The mods gasped. "With just one press of a button, this whole block will burn up in flames.” Snip3r had gotten up and was staring at Bryan. Wow, he thought to himself. Bryan’s really good at bluffing! Bryan suddenly turned around. "I told you to stay away from the window Snip3r!" "Jeez, Bryan, it's not that big of a..." Just then, a loud banging sound echoed through the room. Snip3r's eyes turned white as the glass behind him shattered. Blood was flowing from his forehead, and he slowly fell to the ground, almost as if it was in slow-motion. Bryan's eyes widened and he gasped as Recon 54 jumped through the window. "Die," Recon whispered as he fired two rounds of his revolver into Bryan's chest. Bryan was slowly falling to the ground as he noticed Snip3r's body had stopped moving. No. This can't be happening. Why did this have to happen? No... Recon chuckled as Bryan fell to his knees. He had hit his mark both times. But suddenly he realized that there was no blood coming out of Bryan. He also noticed that both of his bullets were lodged into the wall behind Bryan. "A.... a hologram?!" "I told him he didn't have to come," Bryan said without expression, still on his knees. "I said I could make a hologram. But he wanted to be here himself. He said that he would never miss out on the action as long as he lived. He got his wish." Bryan slowly stood up and looked at Recon with pure hatred. "You've just made a huge mistake." Suddenly Recon’s hands stared moving. What? My hands... my hands are moving on their own! I can't stop! Bryan was still staring at Recon fervently. "All of you people are nothing but scum. You don't deserve to live." Recon could only watch as he raised his own gun to his head. "Please," he cried. "Don't kill me!" Bryan chuckled. "And now you're begging for your own life after you've just taken one. You truly are scum." "I'll do whatever you want! Please!" Recon pleaded. Bryan whispered to himself, "Die." Recon kept screaming as he fired his own revolver into his head until the ammo ran out. His corpse dropped to the floor with a hard thud. Bryan then turned to the mods, who were horrified. "I'll leave you here to suffocate." Bryan's hologram suddenly vanished. Two Days Later "This is bad,” Frankie stated as he laid documents on the large Bungie Conference Table. It was time for the Weekly Update, and most of the Bungie Employees and Forum Ninjas were gathered. "It appears our good friend Recon seemingly committed suicide the other day. When authorities had gotten to the building, though, there was one mod who was left alive. He said that a strange man made Recon shoot himself. The mod then passed out. Luckily, we were able to remove the barrier he was surrounded in and he is now being interrogated. Whoever this man is, he needs to be disposed of as soon as possible." The plasma screen T.V. in the conference room suddenly turned on. On the screen was Bryan's head down to his shoulders. "Hello," he said. "All of you and the false world you live in are surrounded by darkness. You hurt the innocent and prey on the weak." Pezz suddenly gasped. "That's the man! I recognize him! The mod we're interrogating drew a picture of the member who killed Recon! That's him!" "Trace wherever the message is being transmitted from!" ordered Frankie. The message continued. "All of you disgusting creatures only fuel the darkness further, driving us all into eternal doom. But I will obliterate the darkness and destroy those who live by it. All who defy me should be eliminated. Because I am the only one who can tear away the darkness and save us all. I am salvation. I am the only hope. I am the light. And I will not be stopped." With that, the screen turned off. "We've already traced the message and we've sent five mod units and two Ninjas to find him. He can't take them all at once or hide. Meanwhile, outside of an old thread, about 40 mods and two Ninjas were outside with weapons drawn. One of them kicked down the door and looked inside. There was a figure huddled over a laptop. "Put your hands up!" the mod demanded. He noticed the figure had a pistol in its hand. "He's got a weapon!" he shouted, and fired at the figure. The entire block exploded in a tremendous fireball which shook the ground. The members at the Weekly Update could only watch the explosion through the T.V. Blocks away, in a secret underground chamber, Bryan was typing on a holographic screen. "Fools. They've all rushed to their deaths. Soon they will all see the light." He paused. "Hmm. Light. Isn't that a cool nickname, Snip3r?" There was silence. "Yes, I thought so, too." [Edited on 03.06.2008 7:40 PM PST]

 • This chapter was supposed to be up yesterday, but when I pressed preview, the whole thing disappeared on me. :( This chapter contains little action but should get you caught up on a lot of things. EDIT: In case you were wondering, if words are italicized, that means that you are looking at some kind of pre-chapter thingy, or you are looking at people's thoughts. ________________________________________________________________________ Chapter 3 What happened? Where am I? It's dark all around me. I can't feel any part of my body. Am I dead? Wait. Is that a light? Should I go towards it? "Ugh..." Snip3r groaned as he slowly woke up. As his eyes adjusted to the light, he noticed he was in a hospital room. He also noticed that his arm was in a sling and his head was pounding like crazy. Eventually he noticed there was a relieved nurse sitting next to him. "Thank goodness," she said. "We were afraid you would never wake up. You were in a coma for almost a week and a half." Snip3r blinked. A coma? he thought to himself. How could a possibly have been... Snip3r suddenly sat up, remembering the jail collapsing around him. I'll still have to go back! "How long will it be before I have to go back to jail?" he asked. The nurse replied, "In about a week or so. You're extremely lucky to have even survived." Snip3r also remembered Bryan. "How many people survived when the jail collapsed?" Snip3r asked frantically. "Well, not many," replied the nurse. "The few people who did survive are in this hospital." Sniper was about to ask who was in the hospital when the nurse continued. "There was one person who escaped, though. I think his name was Bryan." Snip3r sighed with relief. "Catherine Thomas," a voice called over the loudspeaker. "You are wanted in the main lobby. Catherine Thomas..." The nurse got up and smiled. "What do you know," she said enthusiastically. "That's me. Be back in a second." As soon as Catherine had left his room, Snip3r got up and tried to open the window. It wouldn't budge. Figures. He sat down for a couple of seconds, sighed, and got back up. Oh, well. Snip3r backed up to the back of his room, charged the window, and smashed right through it. As soon as he landed, even though he was on the first floor, his arm surged with pain. Even so, he hit the ground running until he thought he was deep enough in the crowd that nobody would find him. I need to get back home and try to contact Bryan. As Snip3r reached his house after a couple of minutes of brisk walking, he noticed a news article on his welcome mat. He picked it up but didn't bother to read it as he entered his home. If I know Bryan, he would have his laptop with him, so I should be able to send him a message. When Snip3r had started up his computer and logged in had he bothered to read the article in his hands. His grip had weakened as soon as he read the headline. The article was titled "Murderer Killed By Mysterious Stranger”. The article told of how Bryan was shot in the head by a mysterious man who left before anyone could catch him. No, Snip3r thought desperately. Bryan is too smart to just get killed. Suddenly an icon appeared to indicate Snip3r had received a message. He was surprised when the address was from Bryan's computer! The message told to meet him in a specific address as soon as possible. How can this be? Snip3r's mind was twirling. The article says he was shot, but here is this message in front of me. No. Wait. Maybe it's a trap set up by the mods. Snip3r looked anxious. He looked at the message again and back at the article. Even so, I have to take the chance! Snip3r got up and printed the message out. With the paper in his hands, he grabbed a large jacket to hide his cast, took a deep breath, and walked outside. Now that Snip3r was outside of the abandoned thread in the oldest section of Bungie, he was very uncertain. He didn't have any weapons on him, so if it was the mods, he would have to surrender. Well, it's now or never. Snip3r cautiously opened the door. Inside was Bryan, sitting on the floor with his laptop. Snip3r smiled. "Bryan!" he shouted. "Good to see you, man!" Bryan looked up from his laptop and also smiled. "Snip3r. I was beginning to wonder if you were alive." Snip3r was walking towards him when he remembered the article. "Wait, Bryan. It said on a news article that some guy killed you." Bryan looked up again with a thoughtful expression. "Well, that's true and it's not." Now Snip3r was confused. "Come here, sit down. I want to show you something." Snip3r walked up and took a seat next to Bryan. "Before you had found the body, I invented these." Bryan took out the pair of gloves. "At first these were designed to be a mobile internet device more convenient that a laptop." Bryan made a holographic screen appear in midair and began typing on it. "But soon I developed a system that could infiltrate and effectively hack any network. Once I had installed the hacking system, I tried connecting it to the city's mainframe. The results were that I had access to security cameras, top-secret documents, you name it. But then I found something quite interesting. This system allows me to hack members." Snip3r's eyes widened. "Hacking members? Is that even possible?" Snip3r doubtfully asked. "Even I couldn't believe it at first," replied Bryan. "So I ran some experiments and they all worked flawlessly. People would do whatever I wanted. I didn't have to be close to them or even talk to them. But I did find that the higher a person's rank or the tougher they were, the harder they would be to hack. Anyone who is a moderator or above is out of my reach currently. Anyway, while I was looking at the security cameras for Bungie Headquarters, I discovered that Bungie had hired a mercenary to assassinate me. Once I knew his name, I was able to pinpoint him and hack him. This guy took days to hack, but after I had successfully done it, I came up with a plan. I would enter a public place with many people and a couple of authorities to make sure I would be seen. I had a conversation with he mercenary in hop of catching some people's ear, after which I had the mercenary shoot me with a capsule filled with fake blood. It hurt, but it was enough to make people believe I had been shot. Moments before, I had hacked a wambulance crew to come pick me up. Once they had driven me away to a safe spot, I cleaned the fake blood up, got out and went here. To make sure nobody was suspicious of my body not turning up, I had the crew drive off a steep cliff afterwards. I eventually lost my grip on the mercenary, but I implanted fake memories to make him believe he killed me." "Wow." Snip3r was amazed. "That's incredible that you could pull all of that off!" "Thank you but I also figured out why Bungie banned us. They had Reiginko murdered, most likely because he could reveal information to the public. When we came along and found the body, it was a perfect chance to blame us of murder and not worry about accusation." Bryan looked at Snip3r sincerely. "We have to stop them, Bryan. What they're doing is completely wrong, and we're the only ones who know about it. We have to bring them down, or at least expose them for who they are." "How would we do that?" Snip3r asked. "You said yourself that you can't hack anyone higher than a moderator." Bryan chuckled. "That doesn't mean we can't outsmart them." [Edited on 03.04.2008 4:52 PM PST]

 • EDIT: Can someone post something? I don't want to bump and I almost have chapter three finished on paper. Chapter 2 "The job's been done," Buster Johnson said gruffly as he walked into the familiar abadoned thread. "So where's my money?" "Oh, it's right here, Mr.Johnson," a figure said sinisterly as a tranquilizer dart penetrated Buster's neck. "Wipe his memory, but don't kill him," commanded a deep voice on a large monitor. "We may make use of him yet." There was no trial for Bryan Russel and Snip3r. They were both sentenced to a permaban with no chance of parol. 1 month later Bryan sat alone in a prison cell. Even after one month, his mind was still jumbled. He had given up hope of getting out by now, though he was still wondering why the mods arrested him and Snip3r without evidence. Maybe they arrested us to cover up the murder, he thought to himself. Maybe a member of the community didn't murder Reiginko. What if... His thoughts were interuppted by a tremendous crashing sound as his cell wall collapsed to reveal outside. Without thought, Bryan jumped up and ran out of his cell into the city. With all the confusion and devastation, no civillians had yet noticed that he had come from the prison, and the guards had much more on their hands. Bryan did not stop nor look back as he ran all the way to his house. The prison collapsed to a heap behind him. Bryan took a few minutes to catch his breath outside his house. He knew people had seen him and that the mods would be here soon. He rushed inside and gathered his new invention along with his laptop and a CD-rom. How he got out and who got him out were not important. All he could think about was what might of been the real cause of Reiginko's death. There was a sudden knock on his door. Bryan ran to the back of his house and climbed out his window as his door got kicked down. He turned around to see that the mods had broken into his house and had started climbing out the window, too. "Stop now!" they commanded as they ran after him, and drew out their pistols. Bryan ran as hard as he could as the mods started to fire. Bullets were whizzing by his head and the mods were gaining. He had to think fast. Bryan ran into the crowded streets of Bungie General with the mods close behind. They couldn't fire their weapons as long as he was near civillians. Pretty soon the mods lost sight of him as masses of people walked past them. Bryan did not stop running until he found a long abandoned thread. He walked inside and sat down. He would be safe in here, for now. Bryan opened up his laptop, fired it up, put the CD-rom in, and put on his gloves. The code was still saved onto his computer. He inserted and debugged the code, and soon he had security camera views, history files, and multiple clearance to top-secret documents. He started typing... Meanwhile, at Bungie Headquarters, a group of Ninjas and Bungie Employees were gathered in their central office. "It seems that someone set off a bomb at Bungie General Maximum Security Prison," stated Recon 54. "Isn't that the same prison that Bryan Russel is in?" asked Pezz. "The guy who we banned for the murder of Reiginko?" "Yes. He also escaped," Recon replied. "That member is a threat to the entire community. But don't worry too much. I know of an old friend who can handle this." One week later Bryan casually strolled into a hot thread, knowing that the mods might still be looking for him. A couple of Ninjas were even in the thread. He was extremely nervous; even so, he walked in and started having conversations with everyone there. He talked to every single person, but the mods didn't notice him yet. Finally he decided to start spamming. "I want teh reconz!!" he shouted loud enough for the whole thread to hear. "LOL! STFU noob! Qwerty!" Everyone simply shook their heads and resumed. But now Bryan could feel the barrel of a .45 calibur glock on the back of his head. He smirked as he saw that Buster Johnson was the one holding the gun. "I see." Bryan said. "So I was right all along." "Right about what, dead man?" Buster inquired. He was amused that his victim was so smug. "Well, I have it like this," Bryan started. "Bungie hired a mercenary, presumably you, to murder Reiginko and hide his body, probably because Reiginko could reveal information to the public now that he had resigned. But my friend and I found the body, so to cover things up, they had us banned. And now since I escaped from prison, they decided to hire you again to kill me." "I have no idea what you're talking about. All I know is that if I kill you I'll get 10,000 Microsoft Points." At this, Bryan stared laughing. "What's so funny, boy?" Buster was now agitaed. "It's just that you can't kill me," Bryan said. "Oh, no?" Buster had a sinister smile on his face. People screamed as the sound of the gun firing echoed through the entire thread. Sweet General John, are you gonna write anything about how my character came to power? cuz if not i want to write the von keshner kronikles.
Not right now, but I might refer to it later. You can write it if you like, being that the reader only knows you came to power by killing at the moment.
