Buffs and Nerfs: A class in the right hands...

WARNING: LONG POST INBOUND So I'm noticing a pattern among a thousand different threads about how over powered one class is over another concerning supers, grenades, toughness, etc... I'm also noticing most of the people complaining haven't played the character they're complaining about. I'd like to just throw in my opinion here from my experiences. Each class has their own advantages and disadvantages, and its up to the player to figure these out. A good example I'm seeing lot of controversy on lately is the Sunsinger's Fireborn super. Some say its cheap that the Sunsinger can just respawn willy nilly, while others say the cast time takes too long for it to be of any practical use. I play a Sunsinger, but I don't use this ability, it simply doesn't speak to my play style. However, I have fallen victim to another Sunsinger respawning and killing me when I thought the fight was done plenty of times. I've also caught them mid respawn and put them back in the ground where they belong. I don't feel the ability is underpowered or overpowered, its effectiveness is simply based on whether you catch your opponent unaware or not. This can be applied to more or less all of the supers in the game. The right timing can mean all the difference between victory and utter failure. Another one is the Blade Dancer super. Yeah, a good blade dancer can get up to 4 kills in one go, but I've killed just as many blade dancers mid super as I've died to while it was active. Again, it simply boils down to whether or not you're caught off your guard as well as how efficient your opponent is at using the super. I'm not trying to say people are unskilled, but a majority of the power behind the supers comes from the player who is using it. Like I said I play a Sunsinger. My preferred super mod is Radiant Skin. A lot of people say its useless, but I've made great use of it in PvP time and time again. Obviously I've made some bad timing choices, such as trying to deploy it mid battle and getting rinsed by 3 enemies, but it wasn't designed to be some sort of impenetrable shield so you can run in and gun everyone down, its meant to give a little extra survivability to grant you the opportunity to take on some higher odds tactfully. Anyways these are just my observations and I understand that on the internet having an opinion is a terrible thing, but its my opinion that the classes are more or less balanced well enough and it really just comes down to how well you know your character.

  • sunsingrs supercharged isnt working correctly since it cant resurect other players without pressing square button, and i dont remember where but its written that all types of ss's sc is doing that and but its true that it isnt op or up u just need a lot of discipline and using this sc u r just like grenadier, as voidwalker need strenght and inteligence and gear that gives u bonus that nn guardian kills gives more super power energy plus melee hits replenish granades, i think titans defender sc is a little bit lame cause u cannot be damaged but u cannot damage either being into shield so i rather use type that u gettin shielded passing thru it, strikers sc seems legit as hard knocker with a lot of armor but i prefer type with destructive wave, hunter class its still more chaotic for me then others since throwing knife is more for bladedancer then gunslinger.. after all the real 1 ability i would change is a blink ability that actually sux like hell.. it looks cool even in first person and much more cooler when u see some1 doing that, but with more agility the distance should be longer and should tp for higher and i guess u should choose direction to tp i mean not that u cant do that but u cant choose to go either above or under something it depends when u press x again and sometimes u just tp in same plase when u falling down so i guess its a problem and i really didnt see many pple using this and im using blink only only on open spacec and not when boss fight is, other problem is that when u r facing enemy try to blink and see what happening u just appear in front of them and can say goodnight cause npc players are like walls in destiny u cant pass thru them wich is very annoying u cant try melee them but if u wanna do a suprise to cabal phalanx that is wielding a shield well its better to wait till it will start to shoot u and run around them then trying to blink and as blink its way to slow btw being in the air u should blink more times and u can do that but only when u falling from very high object example boss fight nexus but still u can do this 2 sometimes 3 times... also glide with initial boost seems not working correctly as it gives u boost only after sprinting and there is no info that u need to do that and its not so effective as its suposed to be...

  • I disagree. The arc blade ability may not be extremely OP but it certainly needs to be nerfed. Mainly do to the fact that they move to quick to aim at and even if you do manage to shoot them you do nearly no damage. Even a shotgun can't kill an arc blader with just one shot close range even though the shotgun seems to be used most because it does kill everything in one shot.

    • I completely agree but don't think it will make the guys whining think any differently. Because let's face it, their mentality is that it couldn't possibly be anything they are doing. Must just be the class they're dying to so needs nerf or their class needs a buff lol
