Elements matter! I want to raid so let's do this thing!

Hey guys, something to keep in mind moving forward is the elements. Not to nerd out or anything, but I think everyone's looking forward to raiding, and as much as I love facebashing through a raid, you can't when you're doing progression raiding. If one person isn't doing their job, it makes the raid impossible. So that being said, things to keep in mind: Stockpile weapons of different elements. Don't go hoarders or anything, but if you like hand cannons, get an arc, fire, and void hand cannon on-level. The correct element a level or rarity below your favorite weapon is better than using your favorite weapon at reduced damage. Learn your other class. Each class has an elemental affinity so there are times where you might need to change it up. Furthermore, we may need to change classes around depending on how many of each class we have. I'm thinking that rolling in with 6 Gunslinger hunters isn't going to do the trick. Rep Grind wisely. You've got the crucible, the vanguard, dead orbit, future war cult, and new monarchy and all of them have different benefits. Admittedly, I started grinding the wrong faction early on. Think about your playstyle, are you terrible at grenade throws? Going strength might not be the best idea for you. Each faction has its own benefits and most will probably even out in a raid, but every little bit counts. Choose your exotics wisely. Not to be the bearer of bad news, but you can only have one exotic weapon and one exotic armor equipped at any given point. If you have multiple exotics, think about the bonuses. Obviously an exotic should be worn no matter what (light level increases and overall defense), but if you have legs and arms of exotics, think about which is going to boost your playstyle the most. The bonuses of my chest isn't great considering my playstyle, but the light level trumps it. If I got new exotic arms, they would probably be more in my favor to use those than the chest. Similarly, my exotic machine gun is all good and well, but an exotic fusion rifle will probably be much better utilised considering the amount of ammunition and accuracy. Lastly, raid wipes happen. We'll die and die a lot. Nine times out of ten, though, it's not because we didn't do our job well enough, it's because we didn't do the right job. Keep in mind that beating a raid isn't about getting more shots off, it's about tweaking and changing strategies. Don't look at death as failure in a raid, the first attempts will be purely experimental, so get ready to die, but that's how it works. This is going to be tough tuff, but it's also going to be fun and worth the time and effort. Can't wait to start getting it going. Let's find some more players and get this going! Oh and don't forget to watch this! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0fDB01la00 (I'd skip the boring parts unless you just have 5 hours)
