What is the best exotic hand cannon to get? Why?
I'm really getting into HC and I've been practicing with them in the crucible and I love them in pve so now I wanna go all in and hope for an exotic. Which is the best? Please give a reason why such as upgrades

Hawkmoon is the best primary in the game overall period. Fatebringer is a close second. I think my Hawkmoon kills can explain why. =P

Last word outguns Hawkmoon, after countless hours in crucible and my 6000 match wins. Last word takes my vote.

Crucible? By far TLW. Fastest kill time in the game. I can kill a guy in a second flat with that thing. The other two are good but I think TLW is the best for PvP. PvE? Thorn or HawkMoon. Thorn is good for Shields because the lingering damage keeps then down for a while longer. HawkMoon is just a beast so yeah.

Honestly all three are fun. I have them all, hawkmoon is more for a ranged and precise player and requires the most precision. The last word is more for the in your face aggressive player. And thorn is also more of a distance weapon but it's more forgiving than hawkmoon. But this is just my opinion and I am by no means good at crucible

3 RepliesTHORN Most under rated exotic weapon. Has an okay fire rate and does meh damage but despite this its true beauty is its lingering damage. Ever been in a gun battle with people who either are behind cover or run away until their health goes back? Well cringe no more! With the thorns, you get the benefit of regaining your health while they continue to take damage. Did i also mention that thorns has an almost non existant recoil and is a 2 shot kill in the head? If your still not convinced that this gun is the best hand cannon, then listen to this. Because this gun is so much harder to obtain compared to other exotics, this gun will receive a damage boost on the next update!! A POWER BOOST to a gun with a two shot kill potential!!!

Why is last word winning? It should clearly be Hawkmoon. (He's obviously on ps4 people use common sense, if he included it he is 99.9% most likely on PS)

3 RepliesEdited by x_8-BitZombie_x: 11/9/2014 3:26:27 PMAs some one who has all three exotics here is my opinion: Thorn for PvP, Hawkmoon for PvE, and Last Word for Gunslingers. Thorn is heavily underrated because of it's insanely slow reload which makes it horrible in PvE; but in PvP it's two headshots for a kill plus the DoT from Mark of the Devourer keeps players from recovering and let's you see where they are through walls (damage indicators are visible and show you their location.) Hawkmoon is a beast; high impact and range, 13 shots to the magazine, and 3 shots out of each mag do an extra damage on top of that; for raw damage per mag it can't be beat. The Last Word sits between Hawkmoon and Thorn for many; it has high impact and is fully automatic with a high fire rate, but it severely lacks in range and only has 8 shots to a mag. If you get good at getting hip-fire precision shots every one gives you extra precision damage that's close to the damage bonus on the random shots in Hawkmoon. Where Last Word really shines is in the hands of a Gunslinger (it is the Golden Gun afterall...) with Chain of Woe and Gunslinger's Trance active Last Words insanely high fire rate combined with buffed stability and reload time gives it the highest damage per second out of any hand cannon I've used regardless of it's lower damage per mag compared to Hawkmoon. I hope that helps.
