Genuine thank you to Bungie engineers

First let me give a short intro. of myself. I'm a system software engineer working in Germany and I personally know how difficult it is to write high-quality software and how many countless hours of work developers put into writing, debugging and making a polished product and despite all efforts there will always be people who have problems with it and leave comments like "your game is crap" or worse. Despite all the criticisms this game has gotten, some of it is well justified, I want to take a few minutes of my day off to thank all developers at Bungie who worked on this game. I've not played a Bungie game before and I come from a PC gaming background and so the whole concept of shooters on consoles with a controller always made me go 'meh'. Bungie changed all that. I still suck at Crucible with a controller, but I've not had this much fun in a game in a while. I even went out and bought a Mic to enjoy playing it with other people (oh and can't wait for 1.0.2 patch with better voice comm. on matchmaking!). The gun play mechanics, the satisfying 'thwok' of melee, the movement and verticality, the precise hit detection is unlike any other game I've played on a console. Destiny is no Unreal Tournament, but for a console FPS it's bloody damn good. EDIT: I didn't mean to sound like a PC elitist lol, I love consoles games just as much but for FPS nothing beats keyboard+mouse and large field-of-view IMHO. I also realize most developers are tongue tied thanks to Activision and general company policies, and even for things that are NOT your fault, you cannot tell that to people, part of being in a large corporation. While I understand that few of the hate comments comes from people who -want- to love the game, it can sometimes be crappy to read strong worded/insulting comments when you have clearly worked hard on making this game. I know anyone reading the forums will think this game is a total disaster, but in reality I want you to know there are people like me who love this game, maybe because we had lesser expectations to begin with and we are willing to be patient for you to iron out the issues. Edit: I am -not- claiming the game is perfect but that doesn't mean we can't be thankful for the work they put in so far. Many aspects of the game -are- really polished. Bungie have already showed with patch 1.0.2 they do listen to feedback by addressing the loot system issues and this is just the first of several such patches. I'm also not saying that we as consumers have no right to complain. We most definitely do, but that doesn't mean we need to be nasty about it just to get a point across. There are lots of ideas and little no-brainer fixes/enhancements that I'd like to share with you, but that will detract from the intention of this post, which is to Thank you Bungie, for expanding your horizons and reaching a wider audience and making this awesome game (IMO). You may or may not read this, you might be busy debugging and writing code all day, but if you do, keep up the awesome work! There are people who love this game! - A fellow software developer.
