You'll prestige 20 times in cod but..

So you'll play cod domination over and over. Just to prestige and do it all over, but you won't grind the strikes or challenges or daily missions. SMH Update: A lot think of people think this comparing game modes, but it's not. It's that you'll grind to prestige for nothing. But here you need to grind for the game, but you won't.

  • Been grinding the strikes since before the moon... in fact, go check my current activity. I have yet to actually finish out the story on my own. I know it's sad, but youtube is source enough for the story.

    • this game could have been tremendous...instead it's just blah....i keep thinking about the original vision of destiny and all that could have been. that game could have become legend....instead we get this watered down version that while playing when my GF says "honey i need you to help with blah blah blah" i have not problem dropping the controler. i was really looking for a reason to break up with her and the original vision of destiny was the basket i put all those eggs into. don't get me wrong for some reason i don't understand i keep playing it over and over agian at the same time thinking "wow this is really boring" or "what is the story/reason behind this particular event i'm doing". remember grape drink and grape juice look the same and sometimes taste the same but they are not the same formula. right now destiny is grape drink and the original vision is the grape juice i salavate for.

      • I don't prestige to 20 in CoD because I mean to. I just happen to prestige because the game is that fun. The game is BALANCED, has a buttery smooth 60fps, non existent lag(you will NEVER kill exchange), and small action pack maps. There are also no vehicles because it's a pure fps. And kill streaks have to be earned, not freely given like supers in destiny or titans in titanfall. Not to mention the huge variety of game modes in both standard and hardcore. For me, that's a lot of fun. Doing strikes and what not on Destiny is only fun with friends. If I'm doing it with randoms it just becomes a boring grind.

      • The problem with this logic is the actual COD fans are fine with this game's lack of content because they're used to it. We; the people who are disappointed with Destiny, are actual gamers.

        • The difference is prestiging does not effect your ability to be good at the game and it casually happens as you play an already fun game. I never grinded to prestige. Why? Because you can't call it grinding. Literally the only point of the online play is to kill other people win games etc. so if you were theoretically "grinding" you would really be just playing the game like your suppose to without any extra effort

            • I have played every COD, BF4, Halo etc... Destiny was supposed to be some legendary game to beat all other games. Now I feel like we were all taken advantage of by a big named company like Bungie. Probably spent more money on marketing than making the game. The game feels like a shell of a game that was gutted of its true vision, story line that goes nowhere, repetitive game play with lame dialog. When you hit lv 28 and realize you've got every piece of armor and each exotic weapon you can get whats the point of doing any more raids, nightmare missions, or even putting the game into your game console. This game has a serious oversight on real gamer's that tore through the game hit level 28 or 30 and found out there is nothing left at the top to keep them playing. They don't need to release patches they need to release 40 new missions 100's of new guns and armor that don't look alike then make some type of system for working toward some crazy broken exotic guns, come on bad juju has 15 rounds that pisses through the gun I've got a rare gun that much better thanks for the pointless bounty to receive just another gun to put in the vault and never use. I played WarFrame until the release of destiny and its repetitive, but at least there are hundreds of mod cards, guns, armor, and special raids that give away limited time gear. Destiny was fun for 6 hours then I beat it and spent 60 hours trying to find out why im still playing it. Put controller down now wait for new content in a few months and see where its at.

Well, yes and no. I hate CoD, so don't confuse me with one of those kinda people. I dislike Destiny. Mostly because of server issues, but I digress. Halo (and CoD to some extent) do differ in one aspect and one aspect alone. Enemies are always a variable in matchmaking. You have to sometimes outwit or outplay your opponent to win (which is why I said CoD to an extent, most of that is just runandgun or sitandnoobtube). Other times matchmaking matchups are a joke, and you trash everyone so hard their grandmother can feel it. That's what I find fun about Halo matchmaking. If the Crucible weapons weren't so broken it (Destiny) would probably be more popular with people.

                  • I don't 100% agree as it's a little different with COD. However, I see the point you are trying to make. I often refer to Left 4 Dead when talking about Destiny. L4D had 4 missions only and that was it originally. You also never got anything for completing. There were no unlockables... yet people (myself included) still played the crap out of that game. Not defending Destiny. I think the gaming community expected more and when expectations aren't met you get backlash.

                      • This is actually a psychological phenomena funnily enough. People will work more for no money if respect/prestige/honour is perceived to be gained in return and will be more generous with help_seeking behaviours. Chuck some money in there and you need a crucial balance between too much and not much to get the most quality work out of someone. - A psychology graduate

                        • Maybe people like CoD more than Destiny? Maybe grinding for prestige feels less sh1tty than grinding for hours to simply get better gear to enjoy some more half-@ssed content, to get more gear to get to more sh1tty uninspired content. SMD

                        • Obiviously better balance. More are able to play and enjoy. Average user can hop in a do some good. Not so on the Destiny pve. Making everyone made and the game heavily depends on it.

                        • Understand when I say this that I'm enjoying Destiny. I play PvE all the time. However, I've played COD for years and typically max prestige there with tons of the golden guns. So I can tell you the difference. The first difference is the reward system. In COD yes you have to grind to get what you want but there are specific well defined steps to each task. In Destiny most of the rewards are based on random luck. That doesn't sit well with some folks. Personally, I play so much that even with random luck, I'm going to get my reward. Not everybody plays as much as I do though and those folks feel like they are wasting what little time that they have to play when they put in the hard work and have zero reward to show for it. In other words, there is no light at the end of the tunnel for them. Now to the next difference and that is the PvP. I know you didn't want to compare modes but most die hard COD players play it for the multiplayer. That's just how it is. If you like CODs MP then it's really hard to like Destinys PvP. They are two completely different animals despite having similar gamemodes. COD players hate instant kill devices and Destinys PvP is full of them. Personally, I loathe playing Destiny's PvP. I can do well in it but its just not as competitive as COD MP. Destiny PvP is just not fulfilling in my opinion. Thankfully though Destinys PvE is straight up awesome. CODs campaign is cool but it lacks replayability. So in the end you have two games with loosely similar features but each one does some things much better than the other. If you are a person that can only appreciate one of those features then you will have a favorite title. If you can appreciate both then you might have two favorites.

                            • 100% agree. The last call of duty I played I got bored of after level 35 on the first prestige because I had the gun and set up I wanted and saw nothing else to work towards. Prestiges are a joke. Do this over and over again with the exact same outcome for no apparent reason at all because you will have the same amount of in game gear goodies as the person on the first prestige of the game. Somehow thats less tedious than all the story, strike, pvp, bounty, and raid of Destiny where you will actually get new and better and funner items. I've never heard more complaining in my life about having to work for better gear in a game. Exotic bounties aren't that hard. Raid is fun as hell. Side note zombie mode COD is LEGIT.
