Lets improve destiny

I am really enjoying destiny but I think it lacks quite a few simple to implement ideas that would help flesh out the game give it more longevity and give us guardians more of a purpose. Vendors on planets - why not put some unique vendors on planets maybe at some guardian out posts, also there could be other npcs in these small areas that give us additional bounties. Social areas - There is a small bar in the tower where the agent of the nine was on sunday this would be a perfect area to socialise with other players chat to them and form fireteams etc maybe have a barman we can buy drinks from for glimmer. Table with chequers on for us to play each other. Anything just give it a purpose. Factions - surely they should have there own bounties rather than sticking a hood on flying there flag and doing the normal bounties. Damage modifiers - The elemental effects we can use void, solar and arc Why are these not utilised more it gives the game more strategy and makes it far more interesting and should be utiliesed more, on strikes we could have bosses who switch modes and are only vunerable to a certain element at a time. Subclasses - Make the elemental aspect more crucial to game play as an example my character is using a solar subclass whilst using this class I am weaker against arc yet stronger against void using enemies. With how it is at the moment its just personal preference there is no need to use change up your class. The d-pad - Dancing is fun I am not doubting that one bit but I would suggest keep it for social areas such as the tower. Utilise the d-pad on the field we could have it so up and down switches through subclasses and left and right switches between the weapon type your currently holding so If I have my heavy weapons selected it will switch between my rocket launcher and heavy machine gun. Gunsmith - He really needs to serve a purpose why not allow us to infuse our guns with elemental effects so I can take my shotgun collect the required amount of spirit bloom for void damage take it to the gunsmith and he applys the effect also get him selling gun skins and actual decent guns. Rank - People are moaning about the grind thats what this game should be and thats what it should be built upon but give us more interesting ways of grinding whilst keeping the halo 30 seconds of fun mentality and expand it. As I continue to play I keep getting more ideas as im sure people reading this will have there own or expand upon mine, please do so and hopefully we can repopulate planets, make more dynamic gameplay and hopefully help shape a new franchise.

    • Could Bungie look at introducing some more involved, dynamic content to keep things fresh, maybe? I’m not just talking the mission types you have now, but things such as: • Stealth missions – Sneak into an enemy area to retrieve an item or kill a character. Similar to the current missions, but you get a bonus if you do it without raising an alert level or something along those lines, to encourage a different play style. • Transport missions – You have to get from point A to point B on your Sparrow in a certain amount of time, dodging or destroying enemy pursuit forces along the way. Do you have time to stop and ambush your pursuers, or have you just got to race as quickly as you can, avoiding their fire? • Ambush scenarios – The first stage is that you have to invite at least one other person to your fireteam. (optional, but rewarded for doing this, rather than playing it solo) Then, you both make your way to a designated zone to set up an ambush on an enemy patrol/convoy/drop-ship who are guarding guaranteed goods (legendary materials or a chance for a legendary weapon/armour) Forcing a drop-ship to set down (by destroying its weapons, so it lands rather than flees) so you could raid it and get the goods would be highly satisfying. Also, on top of more mission variety, the chance for more pro-active enemies to spawn, to put you on the defensive some times would really mix things up. You could be happily sniping some helpless mob of Fallen when a drop-ship warps in to attack you (called in by the group you’re attacking?) or you could walk into a sniper ambush in certain areas (ravines, canyons and other places with natural high points) Finally, random or semi-random enemy spawns would make patrols less formulaic. As it stands, the same enemies spawn in the same place every time. For example; the area on the moon, with the circular observation tower and a structure just behind it. Every time you turn up there you know there are 2 Dregs in the tower, a Servitor on the structure, surrounded by a few Dregs, Shanks, Vandals and a Captain. (if you know where I mean then it highlights the problem) What if you turned up there and there was a Spider Tank sat waiting for unsuspecting passers-by? Or a battle between Hive and Fallen in full flow. Or if the entire area was empty but then you ran into a roaming patrol a short walk away, who were heading back there. As it is, it feels like the enemies spawn purely for you to shoot at. It should feel as if they exist and go about their business with or without you being there.

      • Well I got three exotic weapons, all primrary. First is Red Death, the second Bad Juju and the last is Universal Remote. It's pretty exciting, but the first two guns that I mentionned are pulse rifles, which means that one is totally useless. It kinda bums me out. A trading market would be awesome.

      • Im not sure if this has been mentioned before but I really would like to see exotic weapons and maby certain legendary weapons have more unique features like bouncing bullets or something, nothing overboard just a tad bit crazy 😜

        • Another idea: Faction Vendors: Accepting both types of Marks, Vanguard as well as Crucible. I find it a bit hard to believe that the Factions only want Crucible-hounds in their ranks. It would even out the balance of the game to allow the Faction vendors to also accept Vanguard Marks towards purchasing Faction gear and weapons. Doing so would go a long way to getting rid of the view that the game is PvP-centric.

        • Great points. I agree across the board. I believe the subclasses all have elemental types already though, but otherwise, spot on.

        • I just feel like for such a good developer as bungie they have missed alot of ways if making this game last with the whole 10 year life span I just thought some of these things would be in the game as standard at point of sale I really hope they implement these things rather than just giving us reskins

          • Two things I would like to see added as just general ease of use functions. Firstly the ability to mark items in the inventory as favourites and trash. Similar to borderlands. Favourites, will be marked in the inventory, will take longer to dismantle, and will be snapped up to the top of the 9 possible slots for ease of use. Trash works in a similar way, where you can mark them, so it is easy to recognise what you don't need to keep, and then maybe a push to dismantle all marked trash items button. You get the idea, trash marking might not work as well, but I would like to see a favourite marking system for my weapons and armour. Secondly from the roster menu, there should be the option to mark yourself as 'looking for group' makes it easy to look for like minded people in the tower. This has been posted many times, but I like the idea and if there was something above your name in the tower or on the roster menu it makes it easy to look for and message people.

          • Destiny has been live for three weeks now, and there have a been a few notable updates since release (e.g. loot cave nerf, crypto buff, loot drop buff, etc.). I can say with some certainty that most players will find these changes, at the very least, reasonable and shows proof that Bungie is listening and acting on the plights of the many players/guardians across the world. Those changes, while each important in their own right, are small changes that really don't affect a user's gameplay experience. These changes make playing more bearable, less grindy and more rewarding, but overall it is the gameplay that will keep us around. After we've all built our perfect guardians with the best exotic gear the game has to offer, what is left? The answer is repeating strikes, raids and story missions and (you guessed it) playing crucible. Personally crucible will keep my attention the longest. I believe bungie has, more or less, been focusing on the vanguard side of things because both current and new users will spend the majority of their time working on the Vanguard side of things. However, I believe that they really have neglected the many crucible gripes that are now floating around. Now, I could spend all day talking about the balance issues in crucible, but instead I want to focus on the real issue at hand - lag. The lag in crucible is so horrible. By lag, I don't mean people sliding around, not taking damage or grenades not working (which are actual issues). I mean the death delay. THE DEATH DELAY IS SO REAL. Holy f-in sh*t. I can't even describe the feeling when I stab someone, their health drops to zero but they have a good 1.5 seconds to turn to me and knife me back WHILE F-IN DEAD. If I wanted to be killed by Zombies I'd play 'The Last of Us'. I fired a rocket at your face? No problem because you still have time to throw a knife at my face, stab me or 'Super' on me. So how do I fight this unfairness? I get even. I can't count the number of postmortem medals I've received knowing I'm really dead, but the lag gives me time for that second stab. This sometimes works out negatively for our team when I headshot a bastard, their life bar hits zero, they run around the corner and then my teammate 'Supers' on them because they don't appear dead (because, you know, the bastard is running right at them), but I get the kill and my teammate's super is wasted. The experience is just unbearable. My K/D could be so much better, but I hover closer to 1.5 K/D because unless you catch someone off guard there is a high chance that they could get a postmortem medal from your death. If you are within knifing range of me and you 'kill' me, I am usually guaranteed a postmortem medal FOR A KNIFING KILL. I also sometimes waste a whole auto rifle clip because they seem alive, but by the time they've actually died their teammate shows up and I get killed because I have to reload. The reverse has happened as well. I've prematurely stopped shooting someone to cleverly preserve ammo because I knew that they should have taken enough damage to die, but they live because their life bar didn't seem to catch up to the damage. Bungie, please, fix this.

          • Started a new topic: Crucible Lag/Latency; Kill delay; Postmortem Mayhem

          • We should have a way of upgrading gear up to exotic level so that we can use what ever gear we like rather than forced to wear the same stuff

          • Well cosmetic options would be nice. Like a vendor at the tower and use motes of light to let us change and customize our characters as we please. Also maybe even an option to go helm less in battle. I know it doesn't make sense to not have one on in a battle ok I get it, but there is really only one place that you can even view what your character looks like. So even though we have 3 distinct races, when I fight alongside my friends the only way to know what race they are is from their dance. As much as I enjoy a good flash mob after a pub stomp on Venus, I would enjoy seeing myself and others cosmetic choices.

            • How about putting the grimoire (and possible the other cool stats available online but not in game) in game as well as online, this way we can read them and check out our weapon stats/levels while still playing.

            • It just seems like Bungie had all these game play mechanics and systems and just didn't bother finishing them. Why as an example is there not a boss who is empowered by solar yet vulnerable to arc so you have to use team work to defeat him your hits do next to nothing as your empowered by void which he is virtually immune to so u have to use team work to take him down and actually need to plan your assault with your fire team and setup at the start of the mission accordingly if your team mate takes a fall you need to quickly revive him as your hits aren't doing much. So much more could have easily been done with Destiny which is whats so frustrating as the starting blocks of all these things are in place they are just far to basic and not even mentioned throughout the game.

                • Damage elements are heavily used. They are not explained at all. Elemental damage causes increased damage to shields based on their colors. Also, higher difficulty missing like Queen's bounty and Nightfall have modifier dramatically altering the damage of elemental weapons, such as Arc Burn, Void Burn and Solar Burn.

                • Some good ideas her dude! :D I'm not sure these are the first things that bungie should focus on, but definitly great ideas ;-) As for the subclasses, they are actually different types of elemental damage: Titan Striker - ARC Titan Defender - VOID Hunter Gunslinger - SOLAR Hunter Bladedancer - ARC Warlock Voidwalker - VOID Warlock Sunsinger - SOLAR
