Thoughts on Destiny Controversy from an Employee in the Industry -DONE-

I have deleted the original post contents. My goal was to inspire those who might be taking Destiny's faults to extreme levels to think a little bit more about the reasons why they may feel deceived. Only to receive too much trolling, disbelief and questioning my credibility into oblivion. I am enjoying the game thoroughly, and hope Bungie resolves many large quarrels with the game. Better itemization would be nice Better communication Better matchmaking Variety in missions These are my top complaints. It was interesting to say the least, to those that responded positively, and constructively, I thank you. Someone commented earlier who said it best what I was trying to convey: "While perhaps they have not phrased it sufficiently, we believe that the author is mainly objecting to the rampant hyperbole and vilification that permeates so much of the objection to the game. Destiny may not meet one's expectations and we firmly believe that everyone should be free to assess the games merits personally, but the constant bombardment of tirades marking Destiny as 'the worst game ever' or asserting that no one should like this game are both misleading and presumptuous. All these rabid screeds do is act as noise, drowning out the valid reasoned complaints."

  • Look, I don't care how you or anyone else tries to spin it. You say the game is complete. It's not. The game we were promised via every single advertisement, trailer, news article, convention, etc...that is not the game we got. We were led to believe we were investing in something more. If the game were more fun I could be understanding, but it's obviously incomplete and a total disaster, which is why what this employee is saying feels so accurate, as if the pieces of the puzzle were finally put together. I don't care how much time they spent away from their families to build this game. In the end someone at Bungie made a terrible decision or listened to someone they shouldn't have, and the end result is that they made a terrible game. End of story. There's no point to this game at all. You play through an abysmal story and suffer through a bare bones PVP to get to light level 28 or 29, and then do the single raid to get to 30....and then what? Nothing. Redo it on another character? No thanks, the game is repetitive enough as it is. There's no way to sit around in the Tower and chat with people. There's no cool looking end-game armor. There's no variety to missions. There's no plot. So don't come in here and try to make us feel bad just because you 'test games'. Reality is that their cut content is better than the content they left in.
