Currently, they dominate at close range (as they should), dominate at medium range (wait that's what pulse rifles are for), and they are even competitive at long range (that's meant to be for scout rifles). Buffing the other guns would just lead to scout rifles that three-shot at any range with body hits. Nerfing the auto-rifles range is the way to go.
