Destiny's Story (DLC - The Game)

I have a feeling it's going to end up being quite like this lovely video. Would you like to know more about The Stranger? Purchase "The Stranger" DLC! Would you like to know about The Speaker? Purchase "The Speaker" DLC! Would you like to know what Ghosts are? Purchase "The Ghosts" DLC! Would you like to know who the Awoken are? Purchase "The Awoken" DLC! There are countless examples of these... I mean, we've barely been told... anything about anything? I'm honestly so in the dark about the characters and everything that I barely care to know anything about them. Which is conflicting, because when I got Destiny, I was so ready to learn everything about the characters, the lore, the universe as a whole, but having beaten the game's ... "story" I just feel uninterested, people keep saying:
"DLC IS COMING AND IT WILL TELL MORE STORY AND THEN DESTINY 2 WHAT DID YOU EXPECT THIS GAME IS GOING FOR 10 YEARS!!!!"
So, it's going for 10 years? I'm supposed to be excited, right? I'm not... This is just not the kind of story you can expect the majority of players to be excited for, and want more, it's not the kind of game that inspires a 10 year franchise. There's nothing for me to feel excited for, none of the characters are interesting, nothing was explained for me, and now my trust in Bungie's ability to even tell the damned story is close to nonexistent. The only part of me that feels invested in this game, is the part of me that spent ... what was it? 80-90 bucks on it? I've got the stupid DLC pass I guess, and I plan on giving this DLC a chance, because of that. It shouldn't be this way though, I should feel interested in the future of the world I am in, I should feel interested in learning more about the characters I've met, I should WANT to buy the DLC, I should WANT to buy Destiny 2, I should want more story, based on what I have already been told, but instead, I want more story, based on ... not being told one in the first place :l From what it seems, we're going to be charged, just to be told a story, something that should have already been in the main game, we're going to be charged to learn more about the characters we've met, the traveler, the darkness, the aliens we're fighting, pretty much everything since nothing was ever really explained or talked about in the main game. Hell, we might even have to buy a whole new Destiny for it. Destiny was supposed to be so much more, Bungie said it'd be great, expansive, immersive, huge, glorious, and it turns out, the only thing this game truly has to offer, is solid shooting, and a decent co-op/competitive multiplayer experience. Everything else just feels, bland, lazy, repetitive, and just soulless. Destiny has great gameplay, and great multiplayer, but that alone is not going to keep the game afloat, it is not what will inspire a franchise. It's just a matter of time before another game comes along that offers something new, something better in terms of gameplay, and the entire player base is gone, Destiny sinks. As far as the competitive multiplayer that Destiny offers, there's far better and far more competitive multiplayer games out there already. Destiny desperately needs a story, and an immersive world, something that the player wants to be a part of, and as it is right now, Destiny doesn't offer enough as it is to really keep going, and with that in mind, I'm sure they'll be adding a story, but I'm also betting it'll end up being in DLC packs, since that seems to be their priority now. Anyone else feeling like this game is going to end up as "DLC The Game" at least as far as it's story goes?

For me I just don't feel connected to this game and its characters like I do with others. In Gears of War I actually go upset when people died, Mass effect actually brought to tears and even the ad for Ori made me care. However Destiny is bland and it doesn't help where there is no character interaction. The queen didn't know I was Awoken which is a small thing but would make a difference. My species means nothing nor does the factions. A story can be weak but still last a while. Take WoW there isn't really much story and there are a shed load of DLCs for it, however people care about the characters. Is this down just to trading and crafting? I seriously bought it but it gets people interacting. Is it because Classes are celebrated for there differences? No, but it lessens all the whining. The thing is Destiny has no heart to it, no feeling, no community and sadly if things don't change no real future.
