"Easy" VoG Strategy

Raids are hard. Whoever says they aren't don't know what the level 26+ life is all about. Once you hit that point you are looking at raids and weeklies all day everyday (well, also Crucible, but who doesn't wanna wreck Crucible with VoG things?). Also, I don't know about you guys, but my Glimmer is history. Once I get a lot all of it is thrown at ammo packs like a stripper on a pole. Vault of Glass is a challenge. Well, a weird challenge. None of the enemies are what I consider "hard", what makes this raid hard is the mechanics of everything. I may be 26, but I have beaten the raid several times last week. Between helping my raid team get through it, and helping randoms get through it, I have the experience to help anyone do it on their first couple times instead of several. Since it seems like everyone is always stuck at the final boss, I am gonna rush there. But I still wanna say some things about everything before it. If you want to ignore everything and read about Atheon, just skip to "ATHEON" - VOID DAMAGE! I suggest always having a Void rocket launcher and a Void fusion rifle. Once you start the Templar (as in after you finish the oracles stage) switch to a Void sniper. Keep it until you get to the Vault of Glass. When you have to open it, go back to a fusion rifle. When you are fighting Atheon, sniper - I honestly don't get how people are stuck at the beginning. But an easy way to do this is have one person in the circle, one person out. When a Praetorion comes near, tell your partner ASAP and team up on him. The key here is to kill them BEFORE they even take a step on the plates. - The Templar stage is the longest and most annoying stage, but can be done easily. Everything is pretty straightforward until you have to fight oracles. Kill the oracles before you get marked! The way we do it is one in the middle (where the first conflux spawns), two at the left, two at right, and one roaming helping all the others. Get the oracles before they mark you! - The Templar is easy. A guy has a relic. While the super is charging kill as many Harpies as you can. Then have him take down shields and go ham. If enrage comes, do NOT panic! Just stick together and you can get through it. It is temporary (at least I think it is, but Minotaurs only spawn for me for about two minutes) - There is a way to run straight through Gorgon's. We found it out ourselves, but I am pretty sure there are videos on it - Opening the Vault is a challenge. Decide who is getting the relics BEFORE you start. You need two people. Then open the portals, go in, get relics, get out. Start at the right portal first! It is the hardest. Might as well do it now instead of later and die. ATHEON This boss is a test of patience. Atheon himself is easy. It is the enemies and the mechanics of this fight that make it hard. From my experience, this is the best way to do this fight: Three people go through time like always. Pick them, then have them stay back. Everyone else leave. One person go to left portal, one right, and one helping the two. The people that go through time, listen up: if you have a level 27+ with you, have them get the relic. 26 can be done, but they are pretty squishy. From there, kill oracles while the guy with the relic kills enemies. Then have the guy with the relic hold cleanse near the portal so they intersect. You will be cleansed on your way out. From there, go back to the back of the room. People who stay at the Vault: You have one job. Kill Suplicants! You guys should be on the pillars. The guy who is at the portal they don't come out of should go to the right one and help kill Suplicants. For example, if they are at Venus (green), they will be coming from right. The guy at the left portal should go right and get Suplicants while the guy at right is still already getting portal. Move if you have to, but be careful not to get caught (I rarely am one of the guys that stays out, so I don't have much to say here) The guy with the relic, spam super at boss. Everyone else shoot him. From my experience that does more damage and is safer than everyone jumping to middle and the guy with the relic holding the bubble. When enrage comes, stay calm. Just stay mobile while also looking where you are going. Vault of Glass will take multiple tries. Don't get upset. If you guys need to take a break, take a break. I am pretty sure there was so many people who didn't kill Atheon because they were trying to rush the fight. EDIT: I have some tips for opening the Vault of Glass. Kill all the enemies and then kill the Gatekeeper. After that, one guy opens the portal. There should be two guys at the plate to defend it. Two go in the portal, and two watch the conflux in the middle. Figure out who the two people are that will get relics are before going in the room. The two people that are gonna get the relics are gonna go in the first time. Start right, it is harder and you might as well get it done. After that, you gotta go to the other portal. Have a machine gun and use a synthetis! Kill the Gatekeeper. The guy who got the first relic should come with and kill enemies. After that, the other guy gets the other relic. There should be two people with relics in the portal. Now just run out and watch conflux and then the Vault is open :) EDIT 2: Dang you guys are liking this. When I stop getting replies I still get likes. Anyways, I am on PS3. If you want, add me. SlimeLime10 EDIT 3: This is escalating Highest Rated. I didn't notice that this also had about 70 replies so far. Remember, VoG is a challenge and will take multiple tries EDIT 4: Beat this for my sixth time. Here is a tip: An easy way to do the Atheon fight is by having a Titan with max recovery go through portals with a Gunslinger and another person. When you are on Venus, the other guy will help the man with the relic kill Minotaur. The Gunslinger can use the Golden Gun to kill the first three oracles. By then the other two should be done so the other guy can help get oracles while the guy with the relic cleanses
