I guarantee most of the people hating on Destiny will be playing it tonight. #Hypocrisy

Pick a game, any game. There will be plenty of people that hate it.

First, I do enjoy most of the gameplay in Destiny. It works great. But I truly pre-ordered Destiny based on the descriptions given of its expansive story and living narrative. Watch the ViDoc's and reveal trailers. Especially the ones from late 2013. In those is a point the developers continuously bring up: Destiny will contain a rich and cinematic narrative. Compared to my past experiences with the Halo franchise and other games which do tell great narrative plots and stories, Destiny is seriously lacking in this area. The gameplay is great, but the thing that I was looking forward to most in Destiny, an awesome story with great prose, twists, and dialogue is not to be found. I have not been and will never be one to post rage posts or spam anger. It's a game. It's not worth it in the long run. But I was disappointed with the end product that is Destiny. Because of this, I want to be a voice of constructive criticism in order to help Bungie and Activision realize their mistakes (because no one is perfect) and learn from them. For them to create a truly mesmerizing game that will capture the hearts of millions of fans and span the length of a decade or more, Bungie needs to be aware of disappointments and the expectations of its playerbase. We support them and want the best, most amazing piece of art they can construct. This is the point of criticism. To push them to reach higher and achieve a level of accomplishment that everyone, including the fans, can be proud of. And if they cannot rise to the challenge or are unwilling to listen, then we will leave. At one point or another. We don't want to, like I said most gamers here want to support Bungie and for them to succeed, but it will happen if they aren't responsive to their fans. Right now while Bungie is listening to us we will continue to raise our voices, be it in criticism or praise, to strive for the betterment of Bungie's work in Destiny, now and in the month and years to come. "We were promised this, we got that."

Absolutely love the game and will continue to play until my hands fall off. Does not change the fact that there are definitely things missing, and a lack of information regarding said missing chunks of game. Out here in the wild, this is how we talk.

Because we were promised a lot more. I honestly didn't have an issue with the game until so many sources came forward with information that lines up and evidence of content cuts. I could really care less about the story, but I know if the intended story was in the final product then I would have cared quite a bit more. The simple fact that all of the factions had their own quests or storylines which hit the cutting room floor pisses me off. There is not even a huge difference in the game we are playing now and the beta in terms of what the campaign offered. I'll end this with saying I absolutely love the game, it's polished and super-smooth and the gameplay mechanics are incredible, it just seems they thought that if those variables were perfected then everything else wouldn't matter.

I'm enjoying the game. Best game I've played in years - seriously, but I agree with almost every bit of criticism I've heard. I think that's what people find most frustrating. If this is how fun it is now, imagine how much better it could have been if Bungie hadn't made so many easily avoidable mistakes.

Ya. There's a bunch of things about the storyline I could say but I'll just say I enjoyed it. This game is the first game in a while I can just sit down and enjoy for 8 hours strait (the last one was the force unleashed). I'm enjoying it.

People dislike this game because the game Bungie was hyping is not the game we got.

We were promised so much but got delivered so little.

Because of human nature and the here and now attitude. They do fully plan on releasing the game that everyone expected but not all at once. But that pisses people off. Just cause right now x or y movie scene isn't in the game, doesn't mean that the game won't have those movie scenes ever.

I don't hate it and i think the game play is great. The music is great. BUT Content is lacking. Not what i was expecting and that was something like space wowish game wish trade system,economy, auction house,crafting etc. More vanilla content instead of recycled events and missions. In game clan/guild support. I could go on but heres a small review from me. Gameplay 8/10 Music 10/10 voice acting (not that it matters most of the story doesn't make sense) 6/10 Story 2/10 Visuals 9/10 content 3/10 (This could change later on with added content but ill wait for deals ) The thing that scares me to the most about this game is Activisions say on it . I can compare this to the fear i had when i learned that The old republic was published by EA. Both these 2 companies are monsters and don't really take care of their game makers.

Because they care about this game

CoD doesn't have a story. It get's flacked for it a lot. Pokemon has content and good interesting gameplay. It also has a story, albeit a basic one. Battlefield is the same as CoD. Mario has gameplay and a legacy behind it. We criticize it because we were promised so much and then we got a half baked game that didn't live up to anything. That's why.
