Regretting my expansion pass, but I learned my lesson. Here's what will make buying it worth it.

Bad Guardian dream?

Or keep the story as is?

Unfortunately while I've had some decent fun and still continue to enjoy myself, I'm noticing that the hype got the better of me with this purchase. I'm a believer in the past day's conspiracy theories and the arguments are logical. This is even strengthened by the complete lack of transparency and the arrogant comment by DeeJ saying that all of us are being trolled by someone other than Bungie and Activision. There's no way this was the intended product, the proof is everywhere and while Bungie's posts and PR has to be calm, collected and over confident in their product I can only imagine how chaotic and the other feelings going around in response to the widespread "WTF"s being thrown out for numerous issues. I really wish I could get my expansion pass refunded and see how Bungie/Activision (you're both at fault) and their obvious lack of solid leadership in the later phases of developing this game. There is enough PR proof and statements made by employees that are not even close to the finished product and that should be fixed so here's what the title of the DLC should be called: "Destiny: The Unsold Chapters" This is where you claim the original game was all just a dream and prophecy of what's to come and after the Black Garden mission the Guardian wakes up to his DinkleGhost and the original story begins. Now you can give us the game that you intended to give us all along instead of a couple more missions with the same objectives of fighting 3 waves to open a door but first you must travel from the patrol start point all the way to the other side of the continent on your sweet hoverbike (because every planet is only allowed a single continent, that's a scientific law apparently). In addition to 3 missions just like stated above, you'll have 2 strikes on planets we've been on before but it's all new! Except each strike takes the same path as the "new missions" but they add a whole new, extra...."room" that contains a really pretty looking, easy to exploit and manipulate bullet sponge with one static weak point and an influx of trash mobs while at the end not rewarding any significant loot other than a few Vanguard marks and sometimes an item worth 200 Glimmer. This is your way to take the game you gave us and still give us the game you so obviously and whole heartedly wanted to give us. Give us the original story as your new "DLC" because we as a community deserve that and oh there's you know, this little tidbit from IGN: Jones said they know that players “don’t want to work hard, they don’t want to read, and they don’t’ want to go to the Internet to figure out our bullshit.” So just do everyone a favor and give us what we wanted in the first place like Bioware should have done with ME3 and go with the idea that the original abomination of a story was just a horrible, incoherent dream of our Guardian while he/she was dead so we can justify giving you more money.

Luckily for you it's not a legitimate season pass. All the DLC content is already on the disc so the "preorder DLC code" that we all bought is actually just 35 dollars credit on xbl. So redeem your code. Get the 35 dollar credit on your xbl account. Then when bungie decides to charge us all again for the rest of the game that we thought we all bought in the first place. You can buy something else.

    • FFXIV v1.0 was a major flop. Square Enix saw this and made a drastic decision. Save the game. Rebuild it from the ground up. And that was an MMO. Nearly a year and a half after launch they closed servers for 8 months an built a game that, now, is 10/10 in most reviews. I like Destiny, but its not the game they advertised and its not a game i want to continue to invest in. Solely because its a bad story. And if 404 is to be believed, it was not before. Bungie + Activision. Even if 404 legitimately isn't an employee, you have to see how often people are citing your previous exposure of Destiny. it isn't what you promised. A reboot is possible. Others have done it and succeeded.

      • You know there is something seriously wrong with your game when an over whelming majority of players on the poll would rather you say "haha it was just a dream, here's the real game!" Than take what you have now.

      • Destiny has no story so they don't have to reboot it just release the original material over time. Based on what I've read of the original plot it is still mostly compatible with what we have. There would not need to be that many changes since pretty much nothing, story wise, has been offered so far in the game. Bungie can always disavow the grimoire cards since they aren't in the game itself. I see this whole thing as completely salvageable .

      • There is no "Employee testimony". 404 refuses to prove they are anybody other than an anonymous liar.

        • Keep the story as it is. The story, as a concept, is fine. It has a plethora of opportunities to expand from. The problem was they didn't hunker down and focus on the parts of the story so it all seemed incoherent. It's like each "Chapter" of the story was a different sandwich that ceased to be made before it was finished before moving on to the next sandwich. Here's to having faith that they'll go back and finish those stories segments ontop of adding more.

          • Bungie seriously needs to consider buying out their contract & go at it by themselves.

          • Hmmm nice pitch you got here. Used to be one of those this is what was intended dlc will expand things. But going back looking at all that was said shown off like a tease from a burlesque show. Then turn out its a drag queen show. If the game continued as shown and intended. Bungie wouldn't need to be racing around to do anything we would have vast bigger world's to explore and distract us tell the DLC was finished. But this is far from a perfect world so we must take what it is and hopefully bungie will actually work with us rather then feel like were test subjects.

            • Literally just thought of this this morning! Please Activision, hear this guy out.. You can still make me want to buy destiny 2! Use destiny's .. Edited story as either a prologue just to get people familiar with the universe, and races and where they came from (kind of). Then make destiny 2 what Bungie's original vision for destiny was, HOWEVER CONTRADICTORY THE NEW ... 'STORY' IS TO IT, and introduce us properly to the people/races/factions we should be caring about. You've left the first one vague for a reason, you are no longer going with what Bungie had, so you have to rewrite a story to fit what you've shoved together.. So, make the next game a little bit in the future or past, or even just explain that our guardians died, or woke up from stasis or a coma from coming into contact with an alien ... Something. I would be perfectly okay with making a brand new character and starting from scratch, IF it meant that I got to enjoy the story I was teased with for two or three years by Bungie.
