EDIT: Sorry but I am done with the topic. Together with similar topics I think we made a point and Bungie/Activision noticed. In the end it does not really matter if 404A is true or troll and we will probably never find out anyway.
Some are having a blast with Destiny and others (probably) see it's huge potential but currently are dissapointed by its repetitive gameplay and overall lack of content. As far as I am concerned both are right.
Since I am not the type of guy to delete a topic the original post remains in the spoiler below.
Since I get many positive reactions in such a short time in my reply to Deej in in
this post by Mohamed , it just might deserve a topic on its own.
In short the topic concerns a number of claims, among others content purposely left out of the game, addressed by someone known as 404Architect who is/pretends to be a current/former Bungie/Activision employee (or at least very close to them).
DeeJ
You are being trolled, Internet. Don't let it happen.
Bungie employees are easy to spot in the wild
Sorry Deej nothing personal but educated C2B (Consumer to Business) for once
I've investigated the entire story myself and being a (former) fraud auditor I am pretty well trained at both (data) analysis and 'reading through the lines.' Although you may choose not to believe my former occupancy and disregard my opinion:
- There is no proof of who he/she is, let alone a former or current employee of Bungie. Also there is no proof just how easy Bungie employees are to spot in the wild. (if you ever been to Africa, I could tell you that even a 2+ ton Rhino can easily be overlooked between rocks or in the bush )
- There is no proof of what he/she is telling us is true.
There is however some circumstantial evidence underlining his/her story including a 2013 article by IGN (and videos attached) and link which makes very clear intended content Bungie promised- sufficient enough to show and 'brag' about to one of the worlds most read game sites- did not make it to the final game. Especially the fully rendered storyline cut scenes in the reveal ViDoc make more sense than the story included in the game itself. The reddit story itself all started from this mysterious and now deleted post of a self-claimed bungies tester which is supported by this photo taken from the ViDoc which together lean towards collaborated evidence. Last but not least IGN picked up on the reddit story and their suspicion is clearly not in their best interest unless they believe to be onto something.
- What does concern me however is not what exactly he/she is saying but HOW it is been said and WHEN. To start with the latter; there is very little time between the questions being asked and his/her response. Secondly and more important he/she seems to be frustrated him/herself, yet he/she speaks of Bungie (and Activision) and its employees with dignity and respect, seems to know what he/she is talking about AND, most important, is very consistent in all of this. This even applies for negative answers, like I don't know / can't answer, which are most often followed by some sort of explanation AND then still are consistent with the rest his/her story. Counting against this is the lack of pressure like in a one/multiple to one interview but still all of this together (timing and consistency) is extremely difficult to do in a made up story.
Conclusive: Together with my (our) own observations that the final product -although being developed for years AND put in the market otherwise- is lacking in both story and content, my opinion is that the statements of 404Architect should be considered legit. Future content and DLC hold against claims made by Bungie itself in the a 2013 IGN preview and claims 404Architect made by will provide the required evidence to confirm or deny this statement.
In addition:
user made anonymous by me
Wat did bungie advertise that didn't come in the game?
THIS and THIS
Especially THEIR Pilars #1, 2, 4 & 7. Even a blind sees how far it is off
EDIT: Thanks for all your response, positive and negative.
You do realize that when they were showing most of the content that was cut/altered pre-launch they slapped a Content Subject To Change on everything right?
-
lol at Pillar #7: Within the game proper, Jones said they know that players “don’t want to work hard, they don’t want to read, and they don’t’ want to go to the Internet to figure out our bullshit.” Yet they created these Grimoire cards you have to navigate and read online. Stupid...

Edited by Cordic_Cyberpunk: 10/2/2014 3:49:44 AMBottom line is Destiny is the biggest lie in gaming history, fact.
-
-blam!-ing game with its GIANT LACK OF EVERYTHING..... years of work my ass. more like 8 months
-
Why is it that Bungie is getting all this shit. But no other company does. Are most of the complaints from Xbox owners who are made that Bungie went multi?
-
Dude I don't care. The story was good enough for me and I having alot of fun playing this game. I am tired of all this crap. If you don't like the game then don't play it. So many negative people on here.
-
Amen but I am sure bungie would prefer to ignore this. They seem to avoid these topics but I fully support this.
-
They let their main story guy go. They dropped the ball.
-
Edited by Gunship: 9/30/2014 11:32:30 PMJust say a new post by Deej on the news. You know, I think they imagine they can just ignore this and pretend it is not real.
-
Even if it's true, so what? Stuff like this happens all the time, it's called the real world. You people think Bungie rules from some gilded palace, they are just a typical company. Despite whatever Destiny is a fun game and I am thoroughly enjoying it.
-
we'll find out when the dlc drop, wont we ? everything up until that is pure speculation. i really hope bungie pulls out a massive game changer, but my logical side is saying otherwise.

Edited by Kiva N Chips: 10/1/2014 2:01:36 PMLooks like im not going to pay for any "expansion packs". Cant launch the full game just to make an extra bit of cash? Well then you cant have mine.

There has never been a game with campaign DLC'S to complete the thing.you want the whole campaign and then more missions later that are added on that tell a different story maybe?? Comment if you agree like If you do not.

This does concern me abit......

The red flag was that DeeJ immediately labeled it a troll attempt and encouraged everyone to not be fooled.
-
LMFAO I Learned more from these videos about the damn story then the -blam!-ing game told me. WTF
-
Indecisive but leaning toward 404 but only because Deej has only commented by calling that person a troll. Need better reassurance than that if this is all false, plus what 404 said is pretty believable, if it was false, kudos for a pretty sophisticated impersonation.

Does it tell anywhere how many people took the survey?
-
Edited by MuzikFreq: 10/2/2014 2:33:43 PMHard to say since there are some people that make up a conspiricy that make thing sound spot on even if they are far from the truth. I personally won't follow the trend of listening to mysterious Joe like so many people today seem to do.
-
Remember the dlc stuff is Activision
-
Does it even really matter? The damage is done. Pretty sure that bungie got the message loud and clear that the community isn't happy with the story/lack of content. That's a good thing! They should now have a clear priority for future content releases. Go return the game if your that disappointed. And as Butters would say: " if you preordered the dlc, then I got a big floppy wiener for ya!"
