Raid Equipment REQUIRED for Level 30???
Are you kidding me???
What the point of writing our own legend and creating our own "unique" character if the only equipment made available to get us to Level 30 is ONLY the set given from the Raid???
I will assume later there will be OTHER equipment, but if its just another Raid set, thats... ugg...

Okay... people keep telling me "well, what else would the hardest challenge in the game give you???" or "have you played an MMO before???"
My argument is that the game railroads the players into a single set of gear. That is, all players will look the damned same because, in order to reach max level, they are required to wear this specific type of armor.
FURTHER, this Armor is just recycled versions of Legendary Armor with a different name.
The only quality different is 3 more point of light per piece of gear.
Nothing Unique, and even if it were, EVERYONE WOULD LOOK THE SAME.
A possible solution would have been a maximum of 2 pieces required or a minimum or 1 (That is, the player could either have 1 piece of Raid Gear and an Exotic, OR two pieces of Raid Gear).
This would still require the player to defeat the greatest challenge in the game multiple times in order to get the Armor Drops, but reduce the limitation upon the character.

2 RepliesWell the VOG raid gear may be different from upcoming raids gear. So realistically, how many level 30 players have you seen? Probably none yourself in game. I'm level 29, play the game way to much and have yet to see one. So by the time a majority of players hit level 30 or higher there will probably be multiple raid sets to be acquired. Problem solved. Also, most players, will never get full raid sets. It takes a ton of time, luck and commitment, as well as a team.

3 RepliesThe only thing that pissed me off about raid gear were some of the perks you got from the pieces. Kabr's chest gives you extra handcannon ammo. Srsly? who avidly uses a pistol while playing titan? Same thing with the kabr arms too. Most of the special weapons have perks that allow you to reload them faster. The raid gear is good and all, but some of the perks are just pointless.

1 ReplyI made a post about this already, unfortunately it got buried with 0 comments, so I'll just leave this here. I would like to see more variety to the end-game gear that gets us to level 30. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind running the raid and getting raid gear, it just bothers me that the raid gear has raid-specific perks. Which is fairly useless outside of the Raid, and will be even more useless for the next raid that's released. -Gloves of the Hezen Lords (Warlock) has a perk that gains you more super energy from killing an oracle. That's fine for the raid, but outside of it that perk is useless. Having a raid set is great, but I think we also need PvE and PvP sets. Obviously they shouldn't be easy to get, but it would give us more flexibility with our play styles once we hit 29/30. PvE gear can be obtained through high level strikes that can only be awarded once a week like in the raid. [b][u]Example for PvE[/u][/b] Start the strike with a fire team of 3-6 people. Strike begins with Sepkis, once defeated a Wizard pops up and teleports you to another strike. This continues for 3-4 strikes until you finally have to fight said Wizard, who is insanely hard. -Traps random teammates in poison whom you have to save before it kills them. -Shield changes to a different type of damage every time it's dropped. -Has a super that "marks" one random guardian and insta-kills them. -Spawns random strike boss when he gets dropped to a certain amount of health. -And whatever other abilities would make it a fight worth awesome gear. Perks for PvE gear would be more PvE related. -Deal more damage to strike bosses. -Less damage from certain enemy types. ECT. [b][u]Raid[/u][/b] Already established. [b][u]PvP[/u][/b] I'm not much of a PvP player, so I don't have any thoughts for this type of gear, but I would assume it could be obtained through Iron Banner when you meet a specific set of requirements. Perks would be more PvP related. TL;DR High level PvE, PvP, and Raid gear to reach level 30, instead of just raid gear with raid specific perks.

good post, there really needs more variety en route to 30, i already see players looking almost exactly the same with just one exotic difference, this is not good.

7 RepliesThen I will never be level 30. I never cared for raids but don't know enough good players to raid with. I can't play much of the strike and special content as I am mainly a casual solo player and so are the few people I know. VtxR - PS3

4 RepliesEdited by Hate Mailer: 10/2/2014 8:32:40 PMI've completed the Raid three times and haven't gotten any Raid armor, just two bogus weapons, shards, a Legendary Ship, Chatterwhite (twice) and two of the same Legendary Titan Mark. I'm done. I'm done because I can only complete the Raid once a week, and it's so pitifully easy to beat now after the first run. Don't tell me to try it on Hard mode, we tried. Hard Mode with a team of 27-29 is artificial difficulty to the max. You'll get the same rewards aside from a [i]couple[/i] unique weapons. I can still get the Raid gear on Normal, but the drop rate isn't guaranteed and I won't be able to get it unless I wait until next Tuesday. Even then, I'll likely just get Chatterwhite again.

1 ReplyThere would be no progression then, the point of the game is to get Vanguard gear so you can raid and get better gear from that. People wouldn't want to do the raid or future raids if they didn't give better gear, hell most don't do the Vanguard now and would rather just farm caves for their gear.

6 RepliesYou are kinda looking at this incorreclty. The ONLY reason that raid gear is required to hit lv 30 is because of the lack of normal gear having high enough light point stats when maxed out. It's not like they designed the game to force people to have to do the raid to hit 30, they just need to add more non-raid gear with high enough light points to get to 30. Im sure there will be more gear soon enough. I was lucky enough to get two pieces from the VoG and am on my way to 30 as soon as I can get enough shards...good luck guys.

Just found this out myself, I was discussing with a friend how stupid it is that all the legendary faction armor is too identical, and he dropped that it didn't matter anyways because to max out you have to use the raid gear, I find it ridiculous myself, I prefer building a guardian to benefit my play style and appeal aesthetically to me, it's just one let down after another with this game...

3 RepliesLvl 30 is kinda saying you beat the game on the hardest mode, the level cap will go up an eventually there will be more raids and higher missions. There is no reason to go above lvl 29 other than for the raid so your post is lame...the games been out for three weeks, there will be more raids aka more opportunities for raid gear. With the logic your using idk why you didn't just stay lvl 20.

The raid is easy once you learn the strats needed. A decent group of 28s can clear it in an hour from start to finish. If your having a problem getting into a group post on here or you can send me a PM I'll add you on ps4 I can try and get you in the raid.

Yeah, I don't like the fact that all legendary gear isn't "equal". Items of the same rarity and level should be sidegrades of one another, not upgrades. I don't think it is very intuitive that legendary items from raids have a higher light cap on them than other legendary items. To me, getting solar primaries and ascended mats should be the motivation to do the raid, not getting a higher light level.

11 RepliesThis game will have a crapload of DLC content and updates, that I'm sure will provide enough new gear to level you past 30. Think about how expansions worked on WoW. In a sense they have allot of the same attributes, considering it's going to be a huge, 10 year game. This isn't skyrim lol
