Why do male gamers often choose a female character?

As a female gamer myself I have wondered why would you, as a male gamer, choose to play as a female character? I see this all the time when gaming online, or watching videos on YouTube and so on and I just can't help to wonder why.. When I play a game which gives me the opportunity to choose between a male and a female character I'd have to admit I'd rather play as a male. My reason for that is mostly because I think the female characters look lame compared to the male ones. Even though the female characters in Destiny look absolutely great! Nice job designers. But still I'm positive that I'll be playing with a male, simply because they are to me more badass and I love the masculinity

 • I find females more interesting. In Grand Theft Auto V, I play as a female because I enjoy choosing clothing more for a female character. As a guy, clothing comes down to pants, shorts, shirts, watches, wristbands, and hats. As a girl, however, your options are so much more fun. Normal pants, skinny pants, baggy pants (which are attractive on a girl, while douchey on a guy), flat skirts, pleated skirts, mini skirts, plain shirts, tight shirts, tank tops (again, douchey on a guy), other tops, scarves (makes a guy look stupid), watches, wristbands, bangles, earrings, hats (and even more hats that look idiotic on guys), high heels, good-looking boots, makeup, and much, much more. Also, I'd rather look at a girl than a guy.
