One Final Effort - Chapter 2

Making his way through the door, Ktan walked down a ominously large hallway leading to a stairwell guarded by a pair of Desticles; his people always could build awe-inspiring constructs. The fleet he came with (though you'd be unable to tell now) was once magnificent and massive; dwarfing anything ever built by the Zanzibaridiots or the Reachtards. Of course, back then the Flood was dominant; undefeatable. "Things change," Ktan though as he drew his sword and slashed the back of one of the Desticle guards, then spun and ran the other through. This attack would have been useful, had he accounted for the hostile squad currently making their way up the stairs. Leveling their STPDBS-14 assault rifles, they launched a hail of bullets up the stairway. Thinking as quickly as he good, he pulled his katana out of the Desticle guard he just killed and pushed the body down the stairs, distracting the easily-distracted soldiers below; providing him with enough time to use his foot to propel himself into the air and launch downwards to the nearest Desticle. Holding his blade downwards, he stabbed down through the Desticle's shoulder; killing it almost instantly. The creature's allies let out a cancerous scream, and began to try and tear their foe apart. Grabbing the gun of the fallen Desticle, Ktan aimed upwards and sprayed the firearm upwards towards the empty heads of his vicious enemies. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- His body ached. BioSmiley felt a level of pain he had not experienced before, and he didn't like it. The attack had caught him off guard; so when the bombs hit his ship, he had been sent reeling by the blast. Thankfully, he could still walk; and walk he did. It took him a while, but he reached the armory where he was now. Equipping some light armor and grabbing a SPM-69 AR, he made his way to the nearby bridge; hoping to establish radio contact with the homeland. First thing was first; he needed to rally the most likely disorganized troops aboard the ship, along with any of the remaining military hierarchy commanding them. Turning on the radio, Bio tried to find a two-way frequency; but to no avail. The ship's systems were far too damaged. He settled for a simple one-way broadcast. Leaning back in the captain's chair, he nonchalantly began his address to the ship's remaining crew: "This is your mom speaking to any and all remaining Floodian military personnel; if you're able-bodied, make your way to the command center." Bio opened the small tin-foil package on top of the nearby console, and took a rather large bite out of the fruit filled pastry within it. Continuing his address with a rather garbled dialect this time, due to the food in his mouth, he began just spewing random memes across the airwaves, and finished his "speech:" "PROFIT!!!!!! Now, to any Desticles listening, you now know where I am located. If you're actually intelligent enough to walk to my position; come on up! I'll be right here, waiting for ya!" Holding the microphone up to the barrel of his rifle, Bio clearly forgot that the loudspeakers in the cabin were also on this frequency; so when he fired his rifle in an attempt to sound intimidating, he fell back out of his chair clenching his ears in pain, yelling gibberish about Quarian felines and fruit pastries. Too busy trying to deal with the ringing in his head, he failed to acknowledge the armored figure walking through the bridge's door. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ktan crouched in the corner, trying to regain his stamina after the previous engagement. Sometimes he wondered if all the bloodshed was worth it; if the means would ever truly be justified by the ends. He had already survived two forum wars before this one; how many more would come? Would there ever truly be an end to these struggles? Shruggin off such negative thoughts, he heard Bio's voice and looked around to see where it originated; quickly spotting the loudspeaker it came from. Making his way through the bridge generally unscathed, he found the door was eerily left open. Peering inside, he saw Bio standing over the weapon control panel. "Anybody else show up, Bio?" BioSmiley turned around, peering at Ktan over his shoulder; then returned to whatever he was doing. "Everything all right," asked Ktan as he walked closer to his ally. Putting his hand on Bio's shoulder and gently pulling backwards, he was greeted with the slash of a blade. Reeling back and drawing his sword, Ktan returned the favor with strikes of his own, but quickly had his blade knocked out of his hands by the relentless hacking of his adversary's weapon. "What in the hell Bio?! What's wrong with you?!" He lowered his weapon at these words, and emitted a dark and disturbing laugh. "You pathetic little fool; know you not a superior being when you see one?" Walking up slowly to Ktan, he stood menacingly in front of him. Ktan peered behind him, and saw Bio's unconscious body in a corner. He turned back to his enemy. "Warmaster." Turning off his altoflauge and running up to Ktan, Warmaster delivered a heavy and swift kick to his face and sent him flying through the window of the bridge. Ktan yelled in pain as he smashed against the deck of the ship; the blood from his wounds painting the ground he landed on. He pushed himself onto his hands and knees, but was gifted with another kick knocking him a couple of feet. Using the momentum of his roll, he stood back on his feet; grasping at his open and wet wounds. Raising his sword, he prepared to give what little fight he had left. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sigma ran into the bridge; hearing the violent clashing of swords. Surveying the room, he found BioSmiley and helped him up to his feet. Asking what was going on, Sigma was quickly briefed on the situation. "Where's the comms? We need to start getting rescue ships in here!" Once directed to it, Sigma began trying to get a signal out, but the only sound he could hear was a faint noise coming from down the hallway outside the bridge. "What the hell is that?!" Sigma looked at Bio in horror as he made out what it was. The chanting became louder and more clear. BioSmiley quickly adopted his ally's look of horror, as the sound of the most despicable question ever created was shouted down the hall: "WAHT CLAS U GUN PLAI?" Tossing a rifle to Bio, Sigma prepared for battle. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm pretty tired right now, and I don't exactly feel like doing any 5 star writing right now; so the writing might not be as smooth as last time. Right now.
