With all of the Cave drama going around I thought it might be a good idea to figure where everyone stands on the magical Cave Farm. Please vote, but try to keep the comments "PG". We don't need empty threats from players telling them to go commit suicide or anything of that nature.

Not trying to be a jerk here, but this poll is out there already. Been created by lots of folks. Just go find one, not poll the same people on the same thing.
-
There is nothing wrong with the cave. The problem is within the loot system.
-
Simple fix is to alter the way loot tables work, rather having drops and rates bound to player level (which is how it is at the moment) have them bound to enemy level, so that legendary and rare engrams only drop from higher level enemy.

Cave is shrek cave is life

Edited by DEZARATH: 9/25/2014 2:48:46 PMThey need to add a map dedicated to Survival mode. Problem solved for everyone. If not, they need to add high end Treasure Caves that are near public events to the other world maps to draw the higher teir players off of Earth. Or just make the Strike Bosses really worth the time and effort.
-
It's not even that good. You get a rare engram every couple minutes and a legendary In an hour. Rare engrams suck terribly and legendary engrams are mostly shit. The cave should be left the way it is.
-
Loot cave isn't the issue here. It is the loot system. To do a raid, strike, or how many numbers of crucible just to get garbage is really disappointing which is probably why people resort to the loot cave. Imagine spending an hour of strike, fighting really hard monsters and stuff all to get crap in the end. Yea.....that hurts a lot. All that work for nil man. I woudl rather just casually shooting acalytes in the head as they spawn out of a cave, do some public missions, and hang with players.

Even if the Cosmodrome Vault of Endless Loot and Candy were patched, the determined would find a new location/way to circumvent intended gameplay in order to take the most efficient path to gear cap. The Cave's not the problem; the Cave's the face of the problem. The problem is the Loot System. Fix that - fix the cave.
-
Nope. If anything is to be done about loot the entire system should get an overhaul. I'm not against the cave. Infact i defend it because it's sort of a bandaid for the shittier then average drops everyone gets. I'm fine if destiny changes the loot system in the next game. But if they even touch loot anywhere in the game now they better re work the whole system.
-
I like the Loot Cave, not because I use but because I love to dance in the cave when people are farming it so the enemies don't spawn. >:D So much hate from them but so much laughing from me.
-
it does not matter ... it does not affect other players at all if the people want to grind there then so be it i have done it a few times and its actually awesome level your cryptarch and get loot and glimmer yes please. i plan on power lvling a guy there tonight.

Edited by torytrae: 9/24/2014 11:00:32 AMEverything working as intended On a side note. Who needs a story if endgame is endless shooting at a cave anyway.
-
I think bungie should just add slot machines to the tower. ^_^
-
Bungie has already stated it's perfectly legit so no.
-
I'll be honest, yeah. Don't get me wrong I've used it myself and it works and it's perfectly within the rules but I still would like to see it patched, respawned rate slowed maybe
-
If this game's loot system wasnt crap this wouldnt be an issue. It's not the cave specifically that needs adjusting, but the way the whole system works. I should not be able to get blue and purple engrams from level one dregs. I SHOULD get those from bosses though
-
Make every cave in the area spawn the maximum number of enemies possible to overwhelm the farmers. Have all the enemies be high level Captains or Trolls. Make the Farmers work for their loot.
-
I don't think they'll patch it. Bungie has released a few updates and none have touched the loot cave. There's something magical about that place... It's as if it's Destiny version of 'The Holy Land.' There's something magical about it. Your sparrow spawns inside the cave which is crazy, there's a Crusade there every so often, satellite's crash when directly above it. The cave is divine - Bungie won't mess with it.
-
Tacos rule!!!!!!!
-
Not entirely, I do however think that the engrams it drops should be garbage compared to killing bosses. They need to make use of drop tables for every specific enemy level/type/location. There is no reason a level 2 dreg should drop a legendary engram that contains an exotic helmet like i had. I got this engram when I went to earth to farm vanguard rep on missions.
-
I'm finding that once I hit level 24, the cave is becoming pointless. I haven't received anything with higher light than what I already have and haven't received a legendary or exotic in about a week now.
-
yes. once you limit crucible matches to 5 a day and strikes to 5 a day and raid attempts to once a week because i dont like people that farm those the mark limit is funny to me because i like to drink the tears of the Q.Q-ers that max it out in 2 days. that is to prevent players from farming it and getting tons of good gear that is far more accessible than a cave that even if it drops a purple you are still at the mercy of the cryptarch...did anyone think that part through?
-
cave is not an exploit, its clever use of game mechanics. most mmo vets will know the difference.
-
Actually something I never seen at that cave spot was a little war going on with the Hive and the Fallen, all of them were ultras and they slam anyone in their way. Seems to be something extra they added to that area. It sure did stop anyone from farming that spot until things settled down.
-
pretty sure its about to be in a few minutes
-
Honestly think of it like this, if you are extremely lucky you might get 2 legendary engrams doing that every two hours, same goes with crucible, if you play crucible for two hours and are extremely lucky you'll get two legendary engrams, personally myself? I did the cave farm once, for two and a half hours straight and go one legendary engram, to me in my opinion that's not any concern to bungie or anyone for that matter, if people want to stare at a little hole and shoot their guns at it for hours on end just let them in the long run its a waste of time for them and a whole lot less fun
