Explanation of poll options:
1) Working as Intended = It's working as Intended?
2) Sensible adjustments are coming = Bungie are just taking their time making reasoned, sensibile and well tested adjustments to the game in order to ensure farming is no longer the premium method to obtain gear?
3) Bungie have dropped the Ball = Bungie have been caught with their pants down and are really struggling to understand how they can adjust their game to "fix" farming issues and push people back to playing the core of the game?
#UPDATE
Destiny: The Cave
The social experience of a cave farming run is amazing: the herding to get a team of Guardians all behind the line and firing in the right direction, the rush to grab the loot, the scramble when the panic wave starts, the beckoning glow from inside the cave. The speed at which the community organized around this activity was inspiring and humbling to us.
But shooting at a black hole for hours on end isn't our dream for how Destiny is played. Our hope is that social engagement in public spaces is only one part of the Destiny experience. Expect changes soon which decrease the efficiency of cave farming and correspondingly increase engram drops from completing activities.
So it looks like those who select option 2 where spot on!

Edited by Death Depot: 9/24/2014 11:16:19 PMIt doesn't matter. Anyone farming the cave isn't affecting you or the way you play the game, so why do you care? If you believe actually doing strikes and story missions and whatnot are what Destiny is all about, keep doing them and stop worrying so much that others aren't doing the same. This whole things reminds me of when people whined endlessly on the Bethesda forums that people were exploiting Smithing and Alchemy to make overpowered gear in Skyrim. Just.. just stop, please. Stop. This comment isn't aimed specifically at you, toomsta.
-
It doesn't really matter. They aren't cheating the game, or exploiting a glitch (technically). The cave farmers aren't affecting you in anyway, so why does it matter to you?

Edited by Aaron5588: 9/25/2014 2:11:11 AMWho cares really? If u like it use it, if u hate it shut up and play on!! Why do so many people care so much about how some person 700 miles away plays their game.? Unfair, u say? Cheating u say..? I say I bought the game like everyone, else so Im gna play it how I want.. My main character is a lv 24 warlock and has never even seen the cave. But my 2nd is a lvl 8 hunter and I plan on sitting on that cave til it reaches lvl 20.. C u there!!!
-
Let's be honest, this cave is the greatest thing ever. No but really it is a good way to kill 30 minutes after doing some strikes
-
It's fine just grind.
-
The only thing that I have found decent from the cave are the strange coins that get decrypted every once in a while from a rare or legendary engram drop. Had 9 saved up two days after using my 17 to buy gjallerhorn.
-
Ya there needs to be adjustments
-
Their happy people are happy and don't want to tick off anyone else.
-
The way people are abusing these makes me mad. As one of the people that try it makes me irked off that people use this lazy a** shortcut
-
Edited by THEcommandomando: 9/25/2014 12:08:05 AMThere were these same forums bitching about it from the Beta. They knew. Didn't care. Why should I?
-
limit crucible matches to 5 a day and strikes to 5 a day and raid attempts to once a week because i dont like people that farm those the mark limit is funny to me because i like to drink the tears of the Q.Q-ers that max it out in 2 days. that is to prevent players from farming it and getting tons of good gear that is far more accessible than a cave that even if it drops a purple you are still at the mercy of the cryptarch...did anyone think that part through? my take on the cave ^^
-
The cave farming method is mostly useless, I have yet to get good gear from it and got most of my gear from marks and the raid. It's most useful aspect is farming for cryptarch rank and getting ascendent shards if you get a legendary engram that give u something.
-
I wish there was an option for I could care less. How does someone farming a cave effect you and what you do? If there was an auction house or trading I might actually care, hell I might even join them. Your game play doesn't change because some people are farming a cave. If that's what they want to do all day, why does it matter to you?

Edited by Primus Zero: 9/22/2014 10:33:18 PMI believe the loot cave was created intentionally. just look at its location and the things going on there. First we have the loot cave, a place where you can get a hell ton of drops. This naturally has drawn player attention making this a high trafic area. Next we have a puplic event that occures less than 5 seconds away from the ideal location to farm said cave. Finally we have the massive battle between the hive and fallen that occures right between the cave and the farm spot. something that can really suprise a player the first time it is seen. I believe the cave was created a bait to lure players here and then entice them to participate in the other events that occure in the area

Edited by HuggyBizzle: 9/24/2014 11:19:13 PMI was thinking. If Bungie were to come out and say something or patch this. They would either alienate the people who like the Loot Cave and don't think it's cheating or an exploit, or they would alienate the people who think it is exploit or cheating. I don't think Bungie can afford either one. So they will most likely just keep mum over it and leave it as is. Because frankly, there are a lot of gamers on both sides.
-
My guess is that they're going to either force the thrall group to spawn on the left spawn point or they've decided there's nothing wrong with it and will leave it as is. Either way, I wouldn't expect a change until the next major patch.
-
Where's Option 4 - who the hell cares? People spend 60 or whatever dollars to play this game, let them play it however they want unless it hinders someone else's gameplay.
-
Im pretty sure they dont care about the loot cave, considering an employee said so not long ago that it is overtalked and there is nothing wrong with, only thing wrong with the loot cave is people impeding on farmers
-
>Still crying about the loot cave
-
Edited by Iktovain: 9/24/2014 10:54:46 PMThere is no exploit. Therefore there is no reason for them to act. If farming is this evil negative way to play games, then I suggest people starting boycotting all games that contain it in any way, shape, or form. So no more running bounties or playlists kiddies, because your either farming rep or marks.
-
Why the hell do you people even care? How does it affect you?

-
People can play however they want, even the "loot cave" gives crap drops and even if you manage to get a good engram the Cryptarch makes sure you never get good gear. Farming does nobody harm, well other than the do-gooders who feel the need to police other peoples games.
-
Loot doesn't drop any faster in the cave than it does anywhere else. It's just much more boring than actually playing the game. People that farm will eventually get over it and move on. People that whine about what everybody is doing instead of trying to enjoy themselves will always be whining. (And losing.)
