Would you buy a $60 dollar book....

Imagine if you bought a book that a writer has been making for the last few years. Before release date, you don't know anything, everything is a mystery. You get the book on launch night with a bunch of eager readers. You get home and get excited, the book looks like it's over 900 pages. You flip through the beginning and get to the preface. You read it and are absolutely confused but still, have hope for the actual story. CHAPTER 1..... Chapter 1 does not release until after 2 weeks the book has been out.... the pages that contain the content are blank. The writer has found some kind of invisible ink to make it so that it won't be able to be seen until the book has been out for 2 weeks. ..... 2 weeks past and what do you get to see from the 1st chapter, 1 paragraph. Yup, one. And if you want some background info on what's going on you have to go to the authors website, because he also makes a few bucks with the traffic he gets with everyone going to his domain. Is this a good marketing strategy for a book? Would you willing buy this book? Because that's what destiny's story is. Stop defending it. "Oh you don't understand, it didn't start".... Shut up. I understand that I payed well over 80 dollars just for game play. The mechanics are great, but that's it. How can you be okay with this and defend this story? Half the time I thought my character was a mute and there's only 5 characters in the story that have no name. Come on really? EDIT!: People think I'm comparing the book to the ENTIRE game. I'm comparing it to the story. The gameplay is fine. I have no quarrels with it. In fact this post wouldn't have even been made if I thought the game as a whole was garbage because I wouldn't have even bothered. However because I've clocked in almost 50 hours of gameplay, I can't help but feel the story is lacking

In my honest opinion. Yes, it seems like Destiny lacks content. But really what Bungie has supplied us with is an opening. A "tutorial". A huge intro to something even more massive than we can imagine. I know it's going to take time, but it's exciting (at least for me) to think "Hey, I'm done with the story so far. I can't wait to see what's coming". I know there are tons of people out there who actually thought the full story was going to be released with the game, but that's just not what Bungie was planning. From the start they were concepting a console "MMO" which is something that hasn't been given a lot of exposure/attention before. They're attempting to do something unique with the way they present content to us as well as story. They want it to be in more digestible chunks so that we'll remember who the key players are within the Tower and the Story. I for one am super excited for the fact that tomorrow, more of the Tower opens up, we get more Story, Bounties and a "Faction". New weaps and Armors themed to all of it as well. If people would just understand that Bungie isn't trying to force feed us a story, then, they might actually enjoy it a bit more. It might just be me, but I like finding out small pieces of lore and stitching together the full story so far by playing the game, collecting Grimoire cards and reading them. Not to mention paying attention to when Bungie releases updates/events. Maybe I'm just different though.
