Crucible Game Type Idea: Fortress

Attacking and defending points such as in control is a pretty fun game mode, but we can do better. What about a game type where one team is inside of a building and must defend the core until time runs out, and the other team has to break into the building by breaking down barricades, hacking open doors with the Ghost, and destroying walls to get to the core and destroy it? The people inside the building (Defenders [Beta Team]) are unable to leave the building, but right from the start they have more cover. The people outside the building (Attackers [Alpha Team]) can move around the entire map freely to navigate a route inside the building to get to the core. Upon death, you become a Ghost and your team mates can revive you, or you have to wait until the timer runs out to respawn. The respawn point for the Defenders will be at the core, while the Attackers spawn point will be in random places around the map (except inside the building). Once time runs out, the Defenders win. If the Attackers destroy the core before time runs out, they win. This game mode requires team work and to always be on your guard. So how does it sound? Ideas to further develop it?

  • Halo 3 D Day on Zanzibar...amazing. It is just like it. Only difference is the bomb was inside their base and you had to get up the beach, make it into the place and blow it up to win. Also border patrol was great too. You ran up the beach and had to hop the border and get into the base and steal the flag. Halo 3 customs just too fun.
