I'm sure I'm not the only one who's sick of trying to scrounge around for Relic iron, Helium, ect. I know farming and searching is a staple in any RPG but it gets tedious especially when the spawns are random lol. My suggestion would be to add them to a shop and remove the option to sell bundles of 50 for marks. Not only would this give glimmer an actual functioning use for higher levels it wouldn't making maxing legends and exotics as simple as buying it since Ascendant shards/energy still need to be gathered. What are your guys thoughts?

I thought of another solution.. Monster drops. Vex could drop spirit blooms, Cabal could drop Iron, ect. Could even make the bosses have a chance to drop 10-20 of their respective materials upon defeat.

I wouldn't mind it, but I won't be surprised if we never see your suggestion. A lot of game design choices seem to have been made to try and funnel players into certain areas. I strongly suspect that resource-farming in the different planets patrol mission is sometimes the only reason you'll encounter another player out there. They want to try and fill the world up a little bit, I think, and figure forcing you to patrol is a way to do it.

I think that the 2nd way you said will work better, but i would add that not all of them drops items because it would make it to easy n take some of the fun out of it. Or make more spots where you can find the item

I think it's a good idea, just put a cap on how many times you can buy materials everyday.
