Strike mission bosses have no drops

I've done my fourth strike mission, and each time i have gotten NO drops EVER. Yet, my friend that i was playing with literally got like 5 rare engrams and a legendary one. What the hell bungie? Shouldn't I be rewarded for completing a strike mission for the first time? Come on how does this make any sense. In my entire story, i've only gotten 10 or so engrams (and i'm lvl 19 in mars). Seriously, why is the drop rates so low, and why do you not reward us? Also why is it that when you switch from lets say a shotgun to a sniper, you lose 80% of your spec wep ammo? I had like 20 shotgun bullets, and when i changed to a sniper i had 5. Then, when I changed back to a shotgun, I only had 2. Seriously? You make me lose all of my ammo? Thanks. Why not make it so you have separate ammo or have a conversion? And please, i've had to write this thing 3 times now. Why? whenever i went to backspace a character or click into the text box, it would take me back a page or load me back into the forums. VERY annoying.

First: If you're having trouble using the forum, I suggest you write your posts in a documenting program such as Microsoft Word, Word Pad, etc and then just copy/paste over into the forum. Second: While I agree with you that bosses should have loot, sometimes that is just how things go in game like this. You're not supposed to gear up fast, games like Destiny are designed to be VERY time consuming (Diablo, Borderlands, World of Warcraft and most if not all other MMO games) to keep you coming back, ESPECIALLY if said games has a subscription fee. Given that you'll either be playing A LOT of strike missions or Crucible maps, there's really nothing else to say. The game past twenty is built around intense grinding gameplay and since Destiny only has the same five raids you're going to be doing those maps over and over and over again. Once you can access the Vanguard Strike playlists, it'll get faster and you'll earn Vanguard Marks which you can turn in for gear that will be vastly superior to most that you'll find off any drop. I also believe that getting engrams is somewhat based upon your performance. I could very well be wrong in this regard, but if you're not killing enough enemies or constantly dying, the game may simply be deciding not to reward you for poor performance. Again, this could be entirely wrong and I'm not implying you are a bad player. Concerning your ammo problem, well, all ammo scales to the weapon you're using. If you reloaded or otherwise used your secondary weapon ammo on the sniper rifle, then that would account for your special ammo going down when you switched back. But yes, you're not going to gear up after a few Strikes. Destiny is designed to be a very grind intensive game and it will take you awhile to be rolling in the engrams. And then you'll get so many that you'll end up like me where you're buried in maxed out Glimmer and hundreds of weapon and armor parts from all the destroyable loot you'll get.
