Level 27 Titan. Used Cryptic Dragon and Light/Beware for most of the strike, and at the end was very liberal with Heavy Ammo Synthesis and a generic rare rocket launcher. When I started the strike I farmed up outside for full heavy ammo to make the defend the door part easier.

This part is just about memorizing the spawn order and the way to deal with various threats. Save your kill power for the Wizards in the last wave. Once Ghost starts working on the door, the left side spawns a huge wave of Thrall and exploder Thrall. Once they're done, the second hardest part starts with I think six boomer Knights. Honestly for them I just shoved two rockets into their faces, screw dealing with that.
Next wave was a bunch of acolytes, followed by a few Wizards and sword Knights. Easy peasy. Just hang out by the two chest high walls at the entrance to the room and snipe everything, occasionally moving around to fusion rifle the Wizards' shields down.
Third wave is just Thralls, exploder Thralls, and a few sword Knights for a while. Once most are gone the Wizards will spawn. You want to get them to bunch up and fire your kill super at them, then shove a rocket into their face. Hopefully this kills 2-3 of the 5 and you can just take your time with the rest.
Everything up to Phogoth is easy and you can take it nice and slow. I advise killing everything to farm up ammo.

Honestly, just look at the linked picture. I wish I had the foresight to record the crazy crap I did but I wasn't sure this would even work and was too in the zone to yell "Xbox, record that!"
The concept is that the "guards" in that room don't seem to spawn unless you're in the indicated zone for over 4 seconds, this timer resets when you hit the clear zones, and if triggered, when they despawn, there is something of another four seconds of breathing room before the "timer" starts again.
You have to run out, fire semi blindly at the enemies, and then beeline it back through. The AI will most likely bunch up very near the door without leashing back to their old positions (enemies in this game have more of a general area leash and less of a dedicated spot/path). So, once they are bunched by the door, you run out again, then fire once to get their attention, turn, run back in, and backpedal towards the back clear door while firing at them. If you are fast enough you can hit the safe zone stairs before the guards spawn, then run back in and kill 1-2 enemies before they make it back out the door, and hit the safe zone again. Only the later Wizards would actually engage me once in the room, and I could safely keep their attention and kill them from the bottom of the safe zone stairs. I found a fusion rifle to be the best overall at this because it does a crapload of burst to drop shields and doesn't care about critzones or aim really. Cryptic Dragon was used to plink at enemies very far away to get their attention or tag them when I blew their shields out.
Whenever I did trigger the room guards, I would just duck behind the corner to the safe zone and wait about 6s for it to stop having a fit, and they'd despawn, giving me some breathing room to go nuts. An hour and a half of this later, and Xyor showed up (with several Wizards in tow) and I went rocket happy on her face.

cheers for this brother! but where exactly is that room I am struggling with the diagram (its me, not the diagram I promise hahah)

Does it have to be the epic difficulty? If so that means it has to be done on nightfall, which would probably be impossible. I'm trying to help a guy, we've tried it on default and 22 heroic settings, but he didn't spawn, are we doing something wrong?

Can you abort after killing the bounty, or do you still need to clear the mission?

Figured this out about the despawning with some friends. Thanks for the confirmation and exact safe spot.
I knew there was some sort of tactic for the summoning pits.
Dancing in the door is also fun. Just to wind it up.

Will try this with my buddies. If we all rotate, it should be a breeze
