Bungie copied Lego Universe
Good evening ladies and gentlemen, I'd like to propose something to you tonight. I believe BUNGIE stole most of the things in Destiny from Lego Universe.
Lego Universe was an MMO produced by Netdevil in 2009. It closed in 2012 and was replaced by Minifigures online. Lego Universe was a fun and creative MMO that many people enjoyed and Minifigures online is a piece of shit Diablo clone that gives people cancer.
Anyway, here's the rundown on what Bungie took from LU. (I realize that a lot of similarities are found in other MMOs but this is just a list I made for fun so don't take it too seriously. I honestly do think, however, that they have some very similar themes and features).
1. [b]The Tower[/b]
-It's called Nexus tower in LU and there were vendors and missions available there like in Destiny. Faction representatives are present in both games and you can earn faction rep (called faction tokens in LU).
-Xur is a mysterious dude that sells exotic weapons and armor in the tower and only shows up at specific times. In LU a mysterious stranger also appears at certain times with some rare goodies.
-The Vault in Nexus tower is the same as the Vault in the tower.
-Both locations require you to fly there using your personal ship.
2. [b]The Enemies[/b]
-In Destiny you fight the darkness. In LU you fight dark infected creatures.
-Darklings are the fallen, Mechs are the Vex.
-The enemies seek to claim land protected by the Nexus (Traveller).
3. [b]Gear[/b]
-LU and Destiny focus on gear quite a bit.
-In LU you can level up but GEAR makes you truly powerful. In Destiny gear is also the focus.
-Both games are very grindy.
-Boss Battles are essentially bullet sponges that occasionally spawn minions.
-Gear/Loot is dropped randomly.
-Each piece of gear has unique stats.
-Consumables are used.
4. [b]Classes and Factions[/b]
-Sentinels = Titans, Venture = Hunters, Paradox = Warlocks
-Faction Ranks AND gear are bought with Faction tokens (Faction Rep).
This is all I feel like typing for now, I'll add pictures later. Hope you enjoyed. I just like to make comparisons :^)
