Any chance about a matchmaking for raids in future?

Any one knows something about it? Is a general complain, even on IGN review. They must do something... Here is a post of mine on feedback forum with reasons:
I am not the kind of player who go after friends to socialize on headset... im 36 yeras old, have a family and i play alone and quiet... i play my games alone and i do this with every mmo or multiplayer in the last few years, doing all the raids very well, thanks... and i am sure are others like me raids dont have matchmaking system because is too hard and need communication? fine, but pug people want to try and not be forced to go after friends on forums raids dont have matchmaking system because the lockout system? well, go learn something with Wow. With no matchmaking, players like me will stay a few days on endgame, and leave for another game.
• I agree with you completely, its really annoying trying to find people on forums. The fact that some people are saying well its soo hard that you can't do this with randoms, well finding people on forums is the same thing though... random people.... It seems like bungie is catering to the 1% elite hardcore gamers that play everyday or game for a living.

  • Agreed. There is absolutely zero reason for not having matchmaking for raids. How is giving your community a choice a bad thing? I played many games that had random matchmaking and still found a great team of randoms that all had mics. No matchmaking is dumb as hell. Anytime you take away a choice from a gamer, it's a bad idea.

First off I would like to say that matchmaking would cause a lot of issues. While I understand the feels of not being able to find a team, it just wouldn't work well. Here are the problems with it: 1. The raids, much like the weekly nightfall strike, are designed for high level players who can work together really well. The raid cannot be done with silent skilled players or low level people who work together really well. It HAS to be both. That is what the raid is all about. It's supposed to be extremely difficult and for good teams. 2. With matchmaking, people who are the bear minimum level can join in. With this last raid, having anyone under 25 is like not having another person. People will want to have others carry them through for the rewards, so random matchmaking means you have a high chance of not getting the players you need. 3. Randoms rarely talk to anyone, much less follow the direction of a team or team leader. The chances of having a full team of randoms who talk are astronomically low. Some of you may argue that they don't need to talk. You need to try the raid with a team that doesn't talk before making that arguement. The entire raid involved communication. 4. There is no telling who can stay for any legitimate length of time. They may quit out 1 hour in and then what do you do? Drop out and try to find another random? 5. It's easier to get trolled by people who just get matched into raids to mess everything up. The unfortunate truth is that these are not designed for casual players. If you can't take the time to talk to people on the tower or on the forums to start up a group, then chances are you are not going to be willing to sit through a 5-20 hour mission with people you don't know. As a solution, I think bungie should add a "raid board" at the tower where you can post your character up as "available" for the raid. It will show your stats, if you have a mike, etc, and people can easily message users from this board. You wouldn't have to come to the forums to find a group for your raid an matchmaking won't be necessary.

I've raided twice, with only one other player remaining in the group (the organizer). Got to the Gorgons on the first try and to the final boss on the second. Language barriers were involved, some people didn't even have mics. Essentially what I'm saying is that all this communication shit is bollocks. There's no reason why we shouldn't be able to match make with players who have got to the same checkpoint as us that week and continue on from there. Nightfall should have matchmaking too. Poor choices. Poor choices, everywhere.

      • This is what happens to me in strikes with match making: 1. No one has a mic to coordinate. 2. One or more people quit out if it's too hard. 3. One or more people quit out at a boss (at the end of the dang strike!) if we fail a time or two. I would be thoroughly upset if either happened in a raid. Even the people that finished the raid described the need for a cohesive, communicative team that was experienced with each other. And it's not about "having options". That option would waste my time because of 1-3 above.

        • I wish there was matchmaking, but I see why there isn't. I was lucky enough to find a group here to try it with and we all had headsets, they were on the 2nd or 3rd stage already, but I didn't care because I just wanted to try it. Anyways, after 20 minutes of getting wrecked by oracles even with good communication, I told them I was leaving because it was just annoying me...don't know if I'll ever attempt it again because of how long it takes and it's pretty tough, but if I do I know I'll need 5 others with mics not randoms running around like chickens with their heads cut off....

        • As someone whose tried and close to completing the raid with a small clan of skilled players who have played together since launch, and some before that. When they say the raid is too hard for matchmaking and you need to much communication to PUG it, they mean it. There is NO way what so ever that a group of 6 random players could come together and do this without communication. If all 6 random people came together it'd take lots of communication from all of them to work together and get through ANYTHING in the raid. But hey, you say you don't want to talk to people, so you'd be a worthless player to group with for this, like MANY others who are requesting MM. You want an easy way of finding people to try it, and are more than likely not willing to communicate at all, so even if someone who was willing to communicate got matchmade with you for a raid you'd cause 100% failure and waste everyone's time inside. TLDR: Just accept that this content is NOT MEANT FOR YOU based on the type of gamer you've described yourself to be. If you can't enjoy the massive amounts of other great content in this game and want to quit because you can't raid, well no one can or wants to stop you, your loss.

        • The raid is extremely hard. It requires voice communication and decent players. It took us hours to get to the last boss yesterday. Granted it was everyone's first time and in the future will go much faster. I could not imagine doing something like this with random players. It would be a nightmare.

        • For anyone looking for groups to raid, someone created http://www.DestinyLFG.com - I have used this multiple times and there are a very large amount of people browsing it at all times. Groups form pretty quickly. Definitely just a work around, but it works well. Trust me, wiping for hours with randoms that don't want to use a mic is brutal.

        • I have a question. Have you done the raid? Because when you get the pattern down, you need to appoint roles, and you need to communicate locations of monsters, when your supers are ready, if you need someone to to back you up, who needs an extra man at a specific location, how your groups will be split up at some points, I haven't even mentioned the maze but I'm stopping there. If you want to do the raid, make friends, learn how to work together and communicate, then try the raid. Or, to get a feel of what it would be like with match making invite random people, and do it. See if you even get the door open.

          • I haven't seen anything about matchmaking for raids but I do know that you aren't required to have 6 people to go into it. I went into it by myself over the weekend to look around. I couldn't get anywhere of course since you have to have at least 3 people standing in 3 different spots to open the gate but it was still fun to see how I stacked up against the enemies there.

          • I think they should add matchmaking but leave it 2 months. That way everyone would likely know the strategy.

          • Not 100% impossible but highly unlikely, consider how actively bungie has defended there decision its quite clear this is a topic where they choose there own principles of how the game should be over what the player base wants. Which tho sad is commendable in this day and age where the gaming community can sometimes act like game devs are slaves that must bow and bend there game to fit the players.
