we all look the same
You can't find a guardian who looks unique because 95% of the armor is just reskinned. Doesn't seem like much effort was put into the gear when the 3 different factions just give different color versions of the same helmet (and everything else they sell too). Heck even the iron banner armor is just gold and white versions of gear we already own.
Can we get some more variety? Or is this something that will be coming soon already?
Edit: I'm not talking about stats or stuff like that. Just looks.

Build your legend. Isn't that what was marketed to us? Their solution: Heres six ships that look the same, a few bikes that look the same, weapons that look the same, armor that looks the same. Can I customize any of that? Heck NO they reply. By LEGEND we meant you will all look similar but you will have to read each players profile to see their legend. Kinda like the story. Read the cards to figure out WTF is going on.

We could definitely use way more shaders too with camo and decals. That damn guardian outfitter always has the same stuff.

Its not just armour all the weapons bar 1 or 2 are identical every damn one only varient seems to be scope. Also unless you unlock colour from an engram you are stuck with choice of 5 and thats being generous as 2 are total pink and 1 is the mismatched colour of the armour without a shader. I spent time customising my character and have already seen an identical one in tower are you kidding me!

Totally agree no one is really unique! Simple, do you want the game to get better and see it improve? Answer: quit playing it! Put down the controllers on destiny. Make a statement and spread the word!

Here it goes "They should also add an armor transmog ability, as seen in DCUO, Diablo 3 and in a similar approach, SWTOR. So much different types of armor just passed by and after hitting 20, those differences in armor appearances become slim. Exotics will probably stay the same but as for legendaries and rares, a lot are just copy paste with different shaders."

easiest solution to styling variety would be a transmogrification functionality like in world of warcraft or diablo. this would make getting blue engrams / gear also nice as you could maybe unlock a skin that would fit to your other gear. i remember a dev presentation where they showed of the easy production process of new gear. apparently all armor consists of different components that they can easily glue together in an editor. (if anyone remembers that presentation of the different helm styles they once showed off)

2 RepliesI want more armor too, but give it time, there's the dlc coming out soon and the apparently exclusive queen gear next week so we'll start seeing some varieties pretty soon I think.

1 ReplyWE NEED THIS SO BAD! It is sad that almost all the lvl 20 faction gear looks all the same save the color =/ Why cant each faction have a different style too? At least that give us a reason to want it. Also the Light/INT/STR/DEC stats should be an attachment so we are not stuck choosing armor based off that instead of how it looks. A Vanity, or wardrobe system like in Guild Wars 2 would be awesome. If only...

I agree thought the amor and guns were suppose to vary and be epic almost 90% look exactly the same depending on level !

Yeah, being able to transmog (I guess is the term) gear to look like any other gear you've found before would help some. Probably minus exotics for obvious reasons. Having the Shader merchant actually rotate would help a bit. Everyone's in Polar Oak because its the only choice that isn't glaringly mismatched colorblind design. (The pink one without the teal isn't terrible,).

I like this idea but there's only so much room on a disk for the game. And that may push them over the edge.although exotic Armour looks quite a bit different. (My helm has tumors on it)

Customization was one of the many emphases not delivered in this game. It's not nearly what I expected. You can't even customize your armor technically—Reach had more options! Basically you just equip pieces of armor the game randomly gives you, based on the better protection & perks they offer, and get rid of old obsolete stuff. Hardly customization :/

3 RepliesAgreed. I feel like there are 3 or so armor models for each class with every variation being a different colour which only matters if you use default colours. Other MMO's (if you can call destiny that) have lots of armor models to the point you rarely see the same one
