Drop rate adjustment needed

Drop mechanics need changing

Loot cave for life!

What's a durple?

I know the loot cave is nice and all but the problem we're experiencing is due to basic drop rate mechanics. make really low level enemies not drop blues (less than level 10) make less than level 20 enemies not drop purples increase chance of purple on high level enemy increase even higher chance of purple on boss creatures (right now i don't think there is any chance of any drop other than like 200 glimmer) increase chance of gold drop on even higher level enemies (like 28+)

  • Agreed. I wouldnt say REMOVE the blues from lower levels else they feel like greens is the best they can get. I would just say for strikes specifically increase the drop rate of blues and purples as well as for raids

    • I can't agree with most of this except for that bosses should have a higher chance to drop purples during high level strikes

    • Drop rates are fine. And farming the loot cave is fine. Do you know why? Because thats the way RPG/mmo styled games like Destiny work. You can either farm/grind one area for what you need. Or you can play random missions over and over and get what you need. Theres nothing wrong with farming the loot cave, and nothing wrong with drop rates.

      • I am conflicted tbh. On the one hand, if people want to cave farm, go for it. On the other, I kind of agree that since you can't get legendaries and exotics before 18, then enemies below level 18 shouldn't drop them. However if that became the case, I would want heroic patrol missions so that when I'm going to do bounties, I can do it on heroic and have a chance for good loot. The problem with heroic patrol mission of course would be that it is essentially the same map, but with higher level enemies. However, aside from yellow bar enemies, the enemy doesn't gain hp, they just gain defense, so you'd still be able to farm teh same spots, the enemies would just be higher level. So the only way to stop the farm on a heroic patrol would be to make all teh enemies yellow bar, at which point it would stop most of the farming for engrams, but you'd make glimmer more worthless than it is because all enemeis would give glimmer. So in the end it is all a vicious cycle. What I'd like to see is maybe a boost in the rewards of doing strikes. I don't think I've EVER seen a legendary, much less an exotic, be rewarded to anyone I've played with at the end of a strike, and yet I hear all the time how pvp people are getting legendarys and exotics as rewards, and pvp matches take maybe half the time...so I don't know. It's all a slippery slope my friends.

      • Why isn't there an option for Leave it the hell alone? I haven't farmed any caves, and I'm happy with my gear.

        • The drop rates are fine but the cryptarch is going to seriously get shot...in the dick...with a fusion rifle...multiple times.

For the most part I agree. There isn't much of an incentive to kill harder targets when they have the same drop rate, and with any RPG game getting the best loot in the game either quickly or without effort can ruin it. After all, how many people have a plan for when they hit 30? That being said, I know many people have been getting royally boned with the drop rates and decryptions. I don't want to imply that getting that equipment is easy or quick; I know many guardians out there keep getting blues from their legendary engrams! But once you learn all the little tips on how to do things and hammer away at them, especially in fire teams, you can sometimes get a wealth of items to super boost yourself. As a personal preference, I like to work for a long time to get my gear. On a semi unrelated note, I'm also a person who likes effeciency. As long as the developers don't have a problem with it, I will do whatever is the most efficient to obtain my gear or goals, including the magical loot cave. Until Bungie takes a stance against it, or shifts the drop tables to favor something else, I'm gonna kill the crap out of some hive to level up my gear to take on the raid before it's over.
