How i fixed error codes

Recently i was having the error codes couple times a hour, then i deployed a fix that seems to have fixed it: Taken from bungie.net: "Destiny is a shared-world shooter that requires a correctly configured and steady internet connection. To avoid losing connection to Destiny, you may need to tweak your home networking setup." "Bee can be caused by general disconnections between you and the various routes your traffic takes across the internet to get to Bungie. This includes packet loss or disconnections between your home network and Bungie. It can even be caused by certain WiFi setups. Finally, disconnects of this type can be caused by Destiny losing bandwidth to other devices and applications. It may be necessary to avoid file-sharing, video streaming or other bandwidth intensive tasks on any device connected to your network while playing Destiny.  This can even include multitasking on your console." Any unstable connection may deploy the "bee" error. And a unstable connection has mainly 3 reasons: 1) wireless connections: DONT use it. Use WIRED connection. 2)Unstable ISP: thats when your speed changes a lot, in my case i got a 30/2 mbps connection, but download ranges between 21-30 mbps and upload between 1.4-2mbps. 3)Unstable internal network: happens when you got multiple devices connected to the router, and some are running games/streams other than you. Okay.. So lets deploy the fixes: 1) Use a WIRED connection 2/3) Here comes the real fix: your main objective is to make your console get a constant speed. How? Firstly fix an IP for your console. Secondly, enable bandwitch control in your router. http://imgur.com/bwhsnNk The secret is to assign a value LOWER than the lower value your ISP connection ranges(30/2 to 21/1.4 in my case, so i used 18/1 set up. You got to assign the same value as maximum and minimum so the speed will be constant. IF the speed delivered from your ISP gets lowers than the one you set up, you will drop INTANTLY, because you wont have the minimum speed requested, so lower values = lower chance of error. IF your ISP is constant and delivers what it should, your only problem is the multiple devices in the internal network, so assigning bandwitch control will already fix it, assigning 60% of the bandwitch will make it so the console gets always 60% of the bandwitch, no matter you are alone in the network or with 20 more devices.

    • I figured out a solution, too. If there's no feedback or mention of fixing the disconnect errors for players within a month of the release, I find something else to do and just stop playing.

      • So I have been eagerly awaiting for a fix like everyone else in these forums and I have finally found a solution for my problem. Like everyone else, I was getting bee, baboon, and all those errors when playing Strikes with friends and joining Crucible matches As much as I wanted to admit that the Bungie's servers are responsible for all the errors, I don't think they are. Well at least for my situation. Anyway, after exhausting all possible solutions what I did that allowed me to play smoothly is to use my 4G subscription for my phone and open a hotspot for my PS4 to connect to. Apparently, my phone's internet is much faster than my home internet based on the stats. (*sigh) So far I have been playing for a whole day now without a single error code which I often get 10-15 minutes in. My phone's 4G is even a NAT Type 3 when connected to the console but again it has stopped all the errors and so far I'm playing smoothly now. Even the "ATTENTION Contacting Destiny Servers" that kept appearing when I was connected to my home network stopped popping up. For people who probably do not have access to a fast and stable 4G network could probably try a different connection if possible. It has definitely helped for me so why not try it.

            • This is a console game. You shouldn't have to come up with specialized fixes like this. I predict this won't work for everyone, since the problem is on Bungie or Activision's side. A lot of people have probably tried this already. This game should work out of the box. It shouldn't be hogging up enough bandwidth on 12 player PVP to force people to disconnect all their stuff from their networks. My network can handle 64 player BF4, while watching streaming videos on Netflix or youtube without a hitch. BF4 servers won't kick me. Titanfall servers won't kick me. I shouldn't be getting bee errors while playing Control when devices on my router are generating light background traffic from time to time.. That's BS.

              • I played FFXIV, Battlefield, and a ton others with zero problems. FFXIV has way more people on bigger scale levels, and it works without a hitch. This is not a problem on my end, it's on their end.

              • I have deployed the bandwidth limiter and have greatly reduced my bee errors. not getting kicked from crucibles, not getting kicked from the tower. Thank you so much.

              • I don't possibly see how an application server for an online game would have issues with variable bandwidth of the clients. If the Jitter or packet loss or RTT are changing - fair enough, would make sense. But BW ups and downs to cause tcp session problems?! TCP can handle that quite well on its own, regardless of the higher level prot used..unless they have load balancers, which try to be smart and do not deliver what's promised...or XLive/PSN<>Bungie connections are still not sorted out...no idea, but it's weird to have BW control as solution..

                      • According to my isp (AT&T dsl 1.5mpbs) how should I set this to allow two ps4 on the same network? My brother and I both play destiny on separate consoles and we need to figure out the router settings to allow us both play time simultaneously and get rid of the dreaded bee. We are both wired to the router and our Nat is type 2. Thanks in advance

                          • I have one Cable modem that has to be in my office so my pc can hook up wired to the router. How can I have a wired connection when my PS4 is in the living room? I live in a apt so cant, nor do I want to, deal with running wires. I have heard there is something that lets you connect through the electrical outlets.. Does that work better than a wireless connection??

There may be something in this Bandwith control business. I've tried it and have been able to play some 6v6 crucible for 2 games straight, which I've never been able to do before in the retail version. Hopefully this means the Bee won't be showing up again, but I suppose we shall see. We shouldn't really be having to go to these lengths though, it is a console game after all.

Wow, I just tried bandwidth control and so far I think I've set a new PB for longest time spent in the tower without a disconnect to 10+ minutes! And still going as I post this comment! (I normally average 1-2 minutes) Now I just need to try out some strikes and sessions with friends; I'll be sure to report back. :D Thanks by the way OP!
