Bungie, Lets have a talk about your loot system
It will be a short talk, why you ask?
Because your concept is stupid.
Lets see.
You have a chance to get a color coded engram. within that chance, is a chance, smaller for the rarer to get one that has a higher output to get a rare/leg/exotic. Then you take that to the douche nozzle of a guy, and you have a chance to not even get the color.
You have three rolls in a row.
So what happens, is when you finally get the legendary engram, you decode it, only to get a green rare.
seriously, whats the logic behind this stupidity?
You should havemade it this way.
White= common, with small chance to get rare/leg
Green= no common, uncommon, with chance to get rare/legendary
blue= rare, with chance tyo get legendary
Purple= Legendary, with small chance to get an exotic.
And yellow= exotic with tiny chance to get legendary.
Seriously, your system sucks. It really does.

Update:
Someone made me aware of the loot cave friday.
Well i decided to -blam!- it into oblivion fri and sat.
Well, i got five purps for about four hours, while my buddy got around 15. So we go back to decrypt. Me with a 7 crypt level, and him with a four.
He gets 6 leg items out of his fifteen, while i get nothing.
But on the bright side, i did get two legendary items from BLUE ENGRAMS.
Seriously, what in the stupid -blam!- is this shit.
Everyone i have played with is getting twive the drop rate, and decode rate.
The only way i was able to advance past 23, was to purchase from the vanguard and Xur. Luckily i had been grinding motes, marks and coins.
Id like to actually pull a legendary from a legendary engram once, that becool, kthankbai bungie,

Every time I do enough patrol missions and public events there's always a nice little bonus sitting with the postmaster that usually consists of either close to half a dozen rare engrams or one legendary and one rare and maybe and ascendant shard, and if I grind a lot there's two.

The looting system is like this so you will have to play the game longer to get your items or.. Just get lucky.. But if you instantly got legendaries everyone would have all the legendaries

In all honesty it seems weird but I see it like this, the loot system seems to be a charity by giving items that u WANT to people who need it , now I understand if ur doing the best in a crucible match u should get rewarded at least u feel like u do but ur not on the top of the leader board cause u expect something, ur there cause ur good and deserve to be there. Why should u be rewarded for being stronger and better then every one , all in all u just have to work harder then every one else and honestly just suck it up or do a raid if ur that much ahead u have a chance for way nicer and better gear there

Oh wow this is such a sad story. It must be such a rough life for you. Growing up being told you are entitled to everything. It's rather sad Destiny had to teach you the valuable lesson...that you are not entitled to anything.

Agreed the system in pve and pvp is retarded. Go 30 and 2. Guy gets 1 kill 15 deaths, exotic I get nothing. Just go afk and watch the exotics pour in.

1 ReplyI wish they'd just get rid of Master Rahool and have drops like any other normal mmo. Legendary drops, you get a legendary, instant gratification. No need to even go to the tower. Of course they'd also have to adjust drop rates but yea... I also think that your mission rewards should be private, as everyone complains about "omg dis newb got better stuffs den me!!?!??1". Like what is the point...?

Gear rarity/Light/numbers are nothing more then a gating mechanism and you will get them, but not through random drops. Random drops are just there to sweeten the pot or to offer you something to do if you cap yourself out on other stuff/don't feel like doing it. If you are trying to farm you way to purple/Exotic glory via the way of random drops (engrams), you are literally approaching the entire pyramid from its back end. I've used that example before, it's like trying to bash your way through a wall with your head, while a door is open right next to you. You don't even get to be all powerful if you out-level stuff over levle 20, since everything is downscaled if your Light level is above theirs, and then again, but by a smaller factor, if you are in sub-20 level content. Lvl 1 mobs can still kill you if you happen to have a really brain dead moment. There is a reason why there really aren't any restrictions on gear farming like the Vex suicide pits and the Russian Glory Hole. They return exactly the effort you put in. Because, again, this not an MMO, let alone a gear grinder. It is a shooter, first and foremost. Love it or hate it, but there is a reason Bungie interview typically had issues with calling Destiny an MMO or an aRPG even.

But random is fair. =D Also, if you want to talk about bad drop chances, go play original pso. Want a rare weapon? It drops off this rare mob at a 1/100,000 chance. .. Oh you want to find that rare mob? It's got a 1/10,000 of spawning in place of the normal one. =D Still one of my favorite and most played games to date. Lol

I got the dust walker helmet from a blue earlier today, and I was just about to buy it with vanguard marks. Ended up getting the boots and cloak since I didn't need to use them for the helmet.

7 RepliesThe nature of the word rare is pretty self explanatory. People expect to be max level within two weeks of release and then will complain when they now have no interest because they cannot possibly progress that character anymore. Take it easy, booty is booty. We were never promised being legendary was going to be easy. IMO you are lucky to get a legendary, but I have no qualms with them having a higher chance to be green or blue. That just gives me another couple of days to get that next piece again. A life cycle is not going to last long if you can't keep your players invested, make them a little angry along the way and when they finally get what they've been grinding for makes it worth it. Everything feels better when you earn it, proven scientifical fact.
