Engram Farm Exploit
Hello Bungie and the Destiny Community! I would like to state that the Loot Cave in the Cosmodrome is in dire need of a fix. I don't think many self-entitled gamers (exploiters) realize that by participating in the farming of the mobs for engrams means that one is actually using an exploit to attempt to attain gear at a faster rate than normal. I hope the Bungie see's this as the same. My main character is a Titan whom at the moment is level 27. All the levels I have acquired were through legitimate means and I have had a blast in doing so. Exploiters, you are ruining the game for yourselves and slapping the staff at Bungie in the face for not exploring the means necessary to acquire gear. Finally, I would like to mention that myself and others are reporting exploiters for cheating because we feel as if it is unfair to the devs and the legitimate community. We shall sit in the caves so that the mobs will not spawn for those whom wish to exploit their spawn rate. Join us if you will. Stand up for a potentially amazing game!

The social experience of a cave farming run is amazing: the herding to get a team of Guardians all behind the line and firing in the right direction, the rush to grab the loot, the scramble when the panic wave starts, the beckoning glow from inside the cave. The speed at which the community organized around this activity was inspiring and humbling to us.
But shooting at a black hole for hours on end isn't our dream for how Destiny is played. Our hope is that social engagement in public spaces is only one part of the Destiny experience. Expect changes soon which decrease the efficiency of cave farming and correspondingly increase engram drops from completing activities."

Unfortunately for the mass morons who said I was whining, I'm an idiot, a snitch and etc. Bungie and I share the same ideas about their game and how its played. Most of you were just attempting to mask what your exploiting really was by saying it was true farming. The drop rates in the caves were broken. Period. If you all were true gamers, gamers that appreciated the game and not those who just want to look nice and seem badass in a short amount of time, you would know that such errors in the game that are taken advantage of are indeed exploits. Have fun rage quitting and leave the game to those who actually are willing to put the work in. By the way I have no problem with true farming my problem is with those farming an exploit for easy gear/materials; I have a problem with those who seek hand outs, like the able bodied person on welfare seeks hand outs from the government.

I'm not a big mmorpg player but from everything I've read and talked to people about, the event you are describing is a very common practice in mmorpg's so the fact that you have an issue with it proves 1 of a few scenarios. 1. You've never played mmorpg's and you don't understand them. 2. You don't realize that this is not your average fps and that it's designed to have these elements. 3. You are, in the lyrics of Godsmack "Cryin' like a bitch." Quit trying to be a dictator and let people play the game the way they want to play it. It's none of your business anyways. 2 RepliesOhhhhh myyyy goodness who fricken cares. Let the losers be losers. Who cares if they get 2 lengendary engrams every 3 hours that turn into rare items. If you look at all the people at loot caves they are stuck on level 24 because they cant upgrade their crap and their armor doesnt match or look cool because they cant get complete sets of armor. Just let them do what they do. I'm getting tired of people thinking they are better than everyone else. If your jealous of all the engrams they are getting go to the stupid loot cave and get some yourself.

This is how irrelevant what you say is. Yes the first loot farm was patched thanks to whining bitches like you and then what happened? Another was found almost immediately. You cannot stop farming in a game where enemies spawn PERIOD. So keep crying while I sit with full legendary gear and multiple exotics clown.

Why? There will be another one along next week ( there are 2 others I'm aware off) This is what happens when you design a game where the same enemies in the same numbers spawn in the same place every time you play the game...

It was supposed to be like that. It isnt an exploit, and why do you care? People can grind however they like. I have never used the cave nor do I plan to, leave everyone else alone.

I have never played a PC game before but I know A LOT about grinding (1000 hours between BL and BL2). The fact is every game has to have farming spots, or else. By else I mean they run the prospect of losing players (and money). If they would consider tying drops to strike and mission bosses things might be different. I have done it a few times but it's not as action packed as being in Venus. If I'm on earth I will partake for a few but it is what it is. Get over it, quit complaining, play the game the way you want.

All the cave does is make the enemies spawn at a convenient rate. Every time you kill an enemy you have a chance for a loot drop. Dice roll. It doesn't matter whether you kill 1000 enemies at the cave or in the Raid it is the same outcome. All the cave does is allow you to roll the dice more often.

1 ReplyWithout an in-game economy nor trading system, effectively all you'll be doing is reporting players for playing the game differently to how you do. Farming the cave breaks nothing, considering this game is heavily RNG based, people could be there for hours on end before they see something of great worth. Once I am done gaining my marks for both key factions, I'll move to the cave on occasion. Why? Blue engrams, I simply want to keep ranking up my cryptarch so that he'll send me some of the shaders that I like. If you see me? Feel free to report me, I'll simply extend the same courtesy if you decide to prevent enemies from spawning. After all, you're exploiting the game mechanics to prevent enemies from entering the world right?

25 RepliesWow level 27. Soooo how many games of crucible have you played? Just farming the crucible over and over and over again getting more exp and glimmer and gear and marks Sounds like farming. Maybe you just play strikes. Like the random strike play list. Just strike after strike getting gear and Exp and glimmer and marks. Sounds like farming. Maybe you got to 27 by doing those patrols. Patrol over and over mission after mission getting exp and gear and drops and reputation with the factions. Just farming those patrols. You sir .... sound like a farmer. We should report you. You are level 27 and clearly playing too much of the game and have found an exploit to get so high in levels. Farmer !!

It litterally does not hurt anyone in anyway that other people are getting gear fast, so quit complaining about it already.They aren't going to fix it because they know that's the tipping point where the few people waiting out to see if the game becomes worth the money would leave.

You guys are to lazy and unskilled to kill something that can move more than 5 feet so you just shoot at enemies in a cave. Talk about things just being handed to you.

For the one millionth time this is NOT a exploit. You can sit on any of the planets and kill the same ads over and over and over and over and over and over if that is what you choose to do. God give it the hell up already.

Ya I tried it once, it was boring and I got 2 legendaries in 2 hours! "Holy crap EXPLOITS! EXPLOITS!" Oh but they were rares when traded in. And stop with the "bungie never intended" argument. Alot of games have unintended things in them that game devs didnt expect (for example, quickscoping in cod). Btw EVERYONE gets a bunch of rares when you trade in legendaries but you'll eventually get a legendary or exotic, pray to rng god and stop pretending your sob stories are so much different and more unfair, THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO HAVE A LOW CHANCE. One more thing, does it really affect you when they are sitting there shooting in a cave? Not really. Maybe they use those legendary weapons in pvp but in the end it's skill.

2 RepliesDoes anybody rember those old rpg days. Like final Fantasy 7,where u would run around in a circle just to invoke a battle for hours on end just to level up and get gold. I'm pretty sure that is the same thing. Both have respawn. Both have u doing something mindless to gain something. Alot of your current RPGs have a way of grinding in a simular fashion. I can't think of any that doesn't. So I'm confused about the issue.

Borderlands or WOW farming is used as a way to get better gear and consumables, no body complains about them. Why is that? Well it is because there are no close minded gamers that want to ban people for using another form of leveling. Farming is just as much if not more of a grind than doing crucible or strikes. True, it isn't as challenging but it takes the same amount of time to get usable gear. You may see people with a shit ton of blues and purps in the loot cave, but tell me really how many of those turned into actually useable legendaries. Because getting armor from an engram is pretty much like a triple roll when you take into account the color, class, and stats. Tell me this too, how many people do you know that fully leveled a char with the loot cave or another farming technique. The bottom line is. The spawns where designed for farming to take place and players are using the setup to their advantage. How is that different from using crucible or strikes to your advantage to earn gear?

Yo dawg, it hurts no one, is NOT, I will repeat, NOT cheating in anyway. It is an exploit yes, BUT it still relies upon RNG as does THE PROPER WAY of getting disappointed by killing big meanies and not getting gear. It is just more efficient

How about you stop being a -blam!-ing cry baby like 90% of everyone else on this forum. The game is what it is, like it or not. If you got your gear from romping around all over the Galaxy, good for you. Not everyone has to (or wants to) play the game the same way you do, and I'm pretty sure the developers intended it to be that way.
