Loving the PvP Paid Off, Huge. (Getting Gear)

Good day! I've read so many posts that ask about getting gear or "What if I don't like Crucible/Strike missions?". I was struggling trying to get gear. Through Strike missions I quickly leveled up to 24 and hit a wall for a few days. Now, I've quickly leveled up to 27 and I'm eagerly waiting for my friends to catch up. Here's a few tips of how I was able to get gear and level up based on my experience. -At level 20, I ran a bunch of Strike missions. They are a pretty good way to get gear with +Light on them. Through this, I got to level 24. -Do bounties! I cannot stress this enough. They keep the grind of doing Strikes or Crucible from getting stale super quick, but that's not the most important part. You want to level one or more of your reputations. Once you hit rank 2 on any faction, they offer Legendary armour. It may take a while, I know, but trust me on this. -Get Vanguard and/or Crucible marks, like mad. I easily capped out Crucible marks the first week and then again on Tuesday when it reset. After I got to Crucible rank 2, I had 200 marks to spend on Legendary armour. With the reputation at rank 2, you can buy the armour. Helms are 120 marks while the other three pieces are 65 each, this totals up to 315. I recommend leveling Crucible and Vanguard/One of the other three factions to level 2, so you can get items from both to cut down the cost on just one faction mark. I was lucky enough to get a Legendary engram through a drop on a Strike mission while running with friends, which turned into a Legendary Helm. I had only leveled Crucible to rank 2, so my 200 marks sufficed. -Upgrade your shiny new Legendary armour. This can be a serious pain in the ass, to be honest. Three out of four of my armour pieces want Relic Iron to upgrade them. That was 96 Relic Iron and 32 Helium filaments in order to upgrade my gear as much as I can without needing Ascendant Shards. That's a scary number, I know. There are plenty of videos out there showing paths you can take over and over to gather it kind of quickly. It's a pretty lame grind, but with it I was able to hit level 27. Phew, that's over. I know this was a lengthy guide, but I hope it helps those of you out there who wonder how you can get better gear and hit that agonizing level 26+. I hope some of you are lucky and can find/farm Legendary engrams quick and easy, but it wasn't working for me so this is my story. Thank you to those who have read this far. I hope you have a great day and good luck with gearing! Aphotic Apex
