Are engrams supposed to give loot for a different Class?

I just converted an Engram and saw my 1st Purple yet its given me Warlock Boots when I am a Hunter. Is this supposed to happen? They are rare enough as it is without having a chance to be useless for your class that killed and looted the item.

Yes its stupid. Sometimes you just gotta deal with getting loot for a different class.
