Legendary Engrams= What A Joke
I currently have a level 25 hunter on destiny and as much as I enjoy the game, there is just one aspect of it that is driving me insane. I've gotten over 6 Legendary Engrams since I started playing and yet I've never once received a piece of Legendary gear from one. Every single Legendary Engram I have opened has given me a Rare (Blue) piece of gear that is sometimes even as low as level 16... How frustrating is it that you go straight from being ecstatic about FINALLY getting a Legendary item to immediately being shot down with a terrible piece of gear. The whole concept doesn't even make sense to me. Why do Legendary Engrams even have a chance of being uncommon (green) or rare (blue) items? Legendary gear is hard enough to get as it is, we don't need more false hope. I don't even like getting "Legendary" Engrams anymore, its just annoying and a big let down. If you are just going to give me a Rare piece of gear anyways then don't get my hopes up for something better.
To clarify.... I am not concerned with how many Legendary items I have, my concern lies in the way that the engram system is set up.

I have gotten 3 legendary engrams so far with no luck, I have more luck getting legendaries from blues. My buddy has gotten 3 legendary Engrams and has gotten 2 legendaries and an Exotic.. I just have terrible luck I guess.. Haha. But I am now saving all my Legendary Engrams in my vault until I level up my Cryptach to 10.

I found 3 Legendary helmet engrams today. Not a single one of them had a legendary helmet in it.

When I was lvl24 I got 2 legendaries and 3 exotics it's luck based

Same I just got back from turning in 4 legendary engrams and didn't get a single legendary item. Its pretty f***ed up

Okay good. It's not just me. I've got 3 or 4 legendary engrams and not a single legendary item yet. Level 24 warlock.

It doesnt even break down into good mats. No, the system was geared towards rep and slow progression and people have nullified that with mass farming in a few locations. Your luck only appears bad when compared to people who have farmed - and farmed a lot more then 6 engrams. I myself have gotten a large number more then 6 legendary engrams. From them I received a shotgun, a fusion rifle, and an exotic chest. Were all 6 of yours blue/green weapons, or were some materials? things like ascendent weapon/armor shards are quite nice to receive from the engrams and in a week or two - you will have no regrets over any accumulated right now.

1 ReplyBecause the game is not designed to have you primarily gear up through engrams. Its designed so you gear up with marks. Considering the current farm cheese happening, if these were to increase in chance then the whole reputation and mark system would be useless.

I fail too see your complaint.

My issue is bosses drop next to nothing so no one is bothering with the strikes. The effort should equal the reward only high level enemies should be dropping Legendary. We were promised tales you can tell about how you got your legendary item. My tale is after hours of enemy respawn camping I shot some weak Lvl 4 guy and he dropped it and then I was lucky the RNG went in my favour. No other loot orientated game does this. You kill a boss in Diablo and it's like cracking open a loot piñata. It's dumb, it's breaking the game and it needs fixing.

I've had 4 legendary 2 from drops and two from rank ups in craptarc and all blues. Completely defeats the object of getting them. I don't see the point of getting one of it is Just going to be a rare or have a higher chance of a legendary from a legendary drop. Seems to me like a 1 in 10 chance of it being a legendary!

As he said at the end of his comment. Its the system that he thinks is wrong not the chanses of getting legendary. And i agree it is really frustrating when it does happen. It should be that legendary engrams have 100% to be a legendary and a small chance of being a exotic. And just lower the overall droprate. That feeling when u get a purple loot ball should be awsome and not depressing.

4 RepliesYou need to get your cryptarc level up very high. I have mine at 9 and I just got 2 legendary engram's in an hour and both became legendary. This game is based on the grind. You earn things. Things won't just be handed to you. You have to work for everything and it seems nobody likes that.

Yeah, I've gotten over 50 legendary engrams, and only a few were actually legendary. I bought most of my gear.

As rare as legendary Engrams are, they should drop legendaries waay more frequently.
