13 RepliesThe PVE is great and different strike modes are enjoyable, but they're already becoming repetitive. It wouldn't be repetitive though if me and my group of friends that are playing could enjoy the PVP along with the PVE. Unfortunately the PVP is one of the worst PVP experiences any of us have endured. TTK = non existent, maps and modes are akin to games from the 90's, as in very limited, small, and they encourage a meat grinder. It's nearly impossible to respawn and rejoin your friends during a match, you get tossed in with players 5 to 7 levels higher, enemy detection on the minimap is total bullshit and should be removed for pvp. Bungie has been doing multiplayer and PVP for years, I'm totally shocked at how terrible the PVP is in Destiny.

3 RepliesGame reviews either fit your perception or they are discredited/ignored. Has reading a review ever changed someone's personal opinion of a game? I'll comfortably say very, very few, if any. It's interesting to hear peoples opinions, especially if they can support their conclusions. But at the end of the day, it's just another form of entertainment.

26 RepliesIf you guys look at what Destiny IS instead of what you thought it would be and think of it on that basis then you would see the greatness. I think the issue is its very different for a console game, but pretty usual for a PC game. Let me know in the comments if you're a console or PC gamer and you Don't like it. I'm betting most of the complainers are console gamers, because they're not used to the dedication it takes to get gear like we see in PC games. Destiny on the other hand manages to provide this level of commitment yet keep the casual players happy as well, which is something new.

I love those guys. I too wanna be an actor someday. They're right, too. You're responsible for educating yourself on a subject before you spend your money. Don't take someone else's word for it, it's not their money. If Gamespot was buying my games I might consider their OPINION a little more valid. Standing offer.

I actually suspect Activison has spent about 2 million dollars or so to influence reviews so they don't have to pay 2.5 millions to bungie. I mean really think about it. The marketing was so extensive that they were bound to make their cut with sales. There was never a doubt about it. So basically they could give a rat's ass about reviews. So why not safe another shit ton of money in that way.

Someone should review the reviewers, give them a taste of their own nonsense, not because of Destiny's ratings, but because of the repetitive biased crap they generate time and time again. Review my ass, a review should be with pros and cons from different points of view, leaving the forming of an opinion up to the reader. Most of their nonsense, in my opinion ;), qualifies at best as an opinion piece instead. I ignore reviews, because of this and believe the industry as a whole would be better served if we all did, but that's just my opinion.

Edited by drag0nboss: 9/18/2014 5:18:49 AMThere was a moment, when I was on my umpteenth patrol, providing sniper support to a lower level guardian who was struggling wuth some enemies, waving to each other, then boosting off in to the well designed Vistas. That encounter made me smile, because the gunplay is so solid that the drawbacks are less apparent. Yes there is a lack of content/story right now, and bosses are sort of the same BIG versions of a common enemy, but I agree that the reviews that gave the game anything below a 7 were rushed and reviews by players who are seriously bashing the game just biased by the insane hype the game had. The most hilarious comments I've seen were arguing that Warframe is better than Destiny(after several hours and having founder status, it is most definitely cannot hold a candle to Destiny in any way shape or form). I enjoyed Destiny approximately 12 times more than Halo 4 and it is on par if not slightly above every Halo, in terms of gameplay alone(can't hope to touch Reach and CE on story.....yet). +1 to Inside Gaming for getting it right. P.S. Even IF Destiny is no good after all content is released, Destiny 2 will be a spectacular beast.

That was an interesting video. And I find myself agreeing. It's not to say Destiny is flawless and is above criticism. Just that the incredible criticism is IS receiving is over the top and- given the reviews given to other games in the past- rather unfair for what it offers. Destiny is no 10/10, as it has a number of flaws fans all around immediately pointed out (such as the connection errors, lack of voice chat in multiplayer, and no way to see reputation from your character screen just to name a few of the many issues). But is it a 6, or even 7 (when basing it off of the scores given to other games of questionable quality)? Not a chance in hell.

4 RepliesI think this game is hard to grade. The game is not new, it has limited story, voice acting is odd. Explain to me why I m addicted to it 24/7. I don't even know why I love this game.

I'm warming up more to this game in hopes of DLC but it's arguments like these that foster mediocre game development. Why strive to make a good product when we can just write off valid complaints as people bandwaggoning or just being negative nancys in general?
