Could we make emotes be useful?

Alright, so I've been enjoying Destiny quite a bit. Has a few shortcomings, but I'm looking forward to the future. One thing I'd really, really like to see is the "point" and "wave" emotes be useful in, if nothing else, Strikes. The complete and utter lack of any means of in-game communication is a bit absurd, no matter the reasoning. (Be it legit concerns such as the dreaded immersion-breaking trade chat spam to straight up excuses like "console players don't use keyboards :3") Now, in most cases, it's not a huuuuge deal. But in PvE stuff, Strikes in particular? It is MADDENING. So, here's my suggestion: Wave emote: pings the other players and drops a 5-10 second indicator of the player's location on other players' HUDs. Point emote: does the same, but instead drops a different color indicator on whatever the player's crosshairs is on. Pretty basic, and very easy to regulate against spammers. But these two things would add INVALUABLE communication options to Strike players. A sub menu with pre-fab messages like "hold position," "be right back," "I'm ready," stuff like that, would be fantastic. But honestly just making the two useful-but-not-really emotes already in game ACTUALLY useful would go a long way. 7hanks for reading!
