We Warlocks have long studied the Traveler. We have learned to wield its Light to bend the very fabric of reality. And yet we still know so very little about it. Is it even alive? What are its motives? What is the Light; and what is the Darkness that pursues it endlessly across space? Examining what fragments of information I have gathered in my few short days as a newly forged Guardian from the husks of dead Ghosts some theories lend themselves. We know that the Light brings life to us Guardians. It animates and renews what was dead and decayed. The Traveler brought the great commotion of life to those once dead worlds of our solar system. And all this seems to have drawn minions of the Darkness, bent on destroying what has been created, each for reasons we have yet to discern. From each dead ghost awoken we Guardians put together a Grimoire trying to piece together a coherent explanation of our universe and its denizens. Those pieces relating to the Darkness and the Traveler suggest that the war we wage is no less than the eternal war of order versus chaos. This is life realized in the object of the Traveler fighting against destruction and decay. The Darkness is that same entropy we learn as children in physics classes is bound to swallow up everything. So many stories exist of a creator god struggling to form order out of chaos, always starting with the creation of light itself. This is the Traveler we serve. And no matter what the physics says, as Guardians it is our duty to change the fate of the universe. We must create a new destiny.
